I'm a new member who just found this site while doing some research on ATVdiscounter; I wish I'd have done the research before doing business with them. To those still waiting for your scooter to arrive, settle down, your scooter being late is the least of your worries. After it finally does arrive, and you decide to accept it even though its a different model that what you ordered, you'll still be waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the paperwork to arrive that will allow you to get the thing registered. You'll no doubt make dozens of phone calls and send even more emails to ATVdiscounter, none of which will be answered now that they have your money. When you do actually talk to someone, they will flat out lie, lie, lie. I had them tell me the title had already been sent before I'd even supplied them with the VIN. Later, I had three different people, on three different days, tell me the Title was being sent out that day. Two weeks later, still no Title. My scooter arrived in a reasonable amount of time but I'm still not driving it. My warranty has already run out and I have no idea if the thing runs worth a flip. Not that the warranty is worth anything... this is a direct quote:
"The 30-day parts warranty covers all factory defects except for the following:
Plastics, moldings, faring, body parts, engine covers, tires, rims, body panels, fuses, gaskets, light bulbs, seats, CV Boots, air filter, fuel filter, filters, clutch wear parts, drive belt, spark plug, any part made from rubber, brake shoes/pads, chargers, lubricants, hoses, broken shocks, clips, nuts, bolts, fasteners, batteries, and chain.
Loose parts that fall off are not covered under warranty so be sure that all the nuts and bolts, locks, fuse covers, and all other parts are properly fastened prior to usage.
Damage that is due to mishandling, improper/incorrect assembly, misuse, accident, collision, water damage, or any other cause with the exception of manufacturer defect is not covered by this warranty."
I think that pretty much covers it all. I'm guessing I'll get my Title about the time the last of the fossil fuels is used up. If I could maybe convert the thing to run on B.S. (of which the folks at ATVdiscounter can surely supply plenty of) I think I'll be okay. I hope everyone keeps updating this thread as I look forward to checking back to see if anyone has their issues with ATVdiscounter resolved. Who knows? Maybe someone will figure out what kind of voodoo it takes to get someone at ATVdiscounter to pick up a phone or answer an email... good luck!

Let us know how it goes. Is there any one person in particular you are emailing? The only person I've been able to get any sort of timely reply from was Trisha in the shipping department... of course that hasn't really helped with missing parts or MSO.

Hi guys and gals, I am a fairly new member but have not posted until now because I haven't decided on a scooter or dealer yet. Posts such as this one are a great source of information for us "new" guys. I have been following this post and have eliminated ATVD as a potential souce for my purchase. I will continue to follow this post and others like it in hopes of finally finding the right scoot and dealer. Thanks to all who have contributed.

Good luck on getting roketa parts from atv discounter. I've obtained parts from them three times since I bought my mc54B last november( I bought there 1 yr. ext. warranty), and all three times the parts have been for sunl 250-22. The first two time the parts worked. The third time I gave them my defective carb.(linhai bolt on type), and they ordered one from roketa,or so they're lparts guy said. 3 mos. later, no carb. I called roketa, they said that the carb I needed had been out of stock for 2 weeks, so I guess that means it was in stock when atvd ordered it. I went back last week to get my old carb, and the parts man gave me a used carb off of a sunl 250 (honda clone), and that he would try to order a clamp on intake manifold for a vog 250, so I could use the carb off the sunl. I told him that was fine as long as I get a new sunl 250 carb, and not the used junk he was trying to pawn off on me.If I don't get a new workable carb and manifold in a timely manner, I guess that someone from atv discounter will be spending half or all they're day in small claims court. Good thing I didn't order online from an out of town company. In the meantime, the new carb I paid $109 for from Bandit-motorsports is working great. I paid for atvd's ext. warranty, and I plan on making them honor it.

oh, boy, this all does not sound good for ATVD, I ordered an Vog 260 from them on 5/20. After many emails and such still no information on when it will ship.
Also I wanted to pay the extra $ 50 bucks to make a rush order and they would not accept it? why I do not know, they just said that it would not help me in my case. They have claimed over and over that they have this item in stock, but I have yet to feel warm and fuzzy that they do. After the end of this week if no response from these jokers I am going to ask for a full refund and go through a more reliable dealer. I may pay more thats ok if I get some real answers.

4 weeks of b.s.! nice, man i hope this is not what i am running into, from what i am reading now it appears as though ATVD can not handle the increase in business. If they were having these kind of issues b4 it got real busy then I am thinking my ship has already sunk and I dont know it.
As much as I want to pull the plug on this thing I want to give them a little more time. Its very degrading to see some folks get their order in hand in less then 2-3 weeks, while others must wait for long periods of time with no feedback. arrrrrg.
Whom was it that you went through and what did you end up getting?

I can tell you that Dukeofyork and myself have ordered the same item from these goof offs, getting the same run-a-round as what most are saying here.
Man if these guys are this bad b4 the sale then there is not much hope for after sale, i paid the extra for express parts but now i am thinking it was a mistake.

I was out of the office most of the day today so I only called ATVD six times... never spoke to a human. No one returned any calls. I think maybe I'll try calling from another phone.

OMG,
After no replies to my emails, I said the heck with it and started calling, after 11 times of no answers and holding for ever I finally got a live person!
They told me this: We are so busy that now our lead-time (wait) is 15 days, not 10 any more. I explained the situation to them about what was going on with my order, they told me there was nothing they could do. They can not contact the warehouse, they do not have any way of knowing when my order may ship. (this is the shipping dept)
Then I went on to say that I was told this item (vog 260) was in stock by the sales guy and Trisha, I asked can you tell me if they have it. The reply, yes we do, so I asked you are sure you have it, yes they say, I said well what warehouse is it at, reply, well sir they are in transit to our warehouse! I said what? you just told me you have it. I said my tracking says from Fontana Cali! Then I was told well maybe thats where it is!
This is just plain bs, I tell you what, if nothing happens in the next few days I will without any hesitation pull the plug and start over.
You cant evon get close to truthfull answer from these guys. Wow, I have seen some shady dealers out there but this one is ranking right up there.
So I may be jumping the gun a bit but c'mon.
Apparantly they have so many orders they can give a rats but as to serving a customer. They have there money (well mine and everyone elses) and could not give a crap about after you pay them!

However, the changes they have made especially for refusal of shipment made me rethink the deal and now I am writing a letter explaining my concerns to see what they will say, but most likely I will call the bank tomorrow to dispute the charge. I cannot afford to get damaged scooter and not being able to refuse the shipment or even get replacement parts!

I bought a Sunl 250-22 from these guys on May 9th. I received the same email that told me how many days I would have to wait before my scoot shipped out. That would have put me at the 22nd. Here we are at the 4th and I still haven't gotten a straight answer. I've called Rick (salesman) multiple times and he doesn't seem to know what's going on. He's a nice guy and all but this is getting rediculous because I live in San Antonio, TX and they're based in Ft. Worth. How hard can it be to put a scooter on the truck and send it down here? I've sent multiple emails to Sherri Barling (billing) and she doesn't respond to anything or answer the phone. I, too, get the feeling that my scoot is on a slow boat from China. After reading all the horror stories, and being able to add to them, I think my money might be heading back into my account real soon if something doesn't happen fast.

Looks like we won't be even able to get our money back if we want to according to their new policy on the website. I am willing to give up the scooter and invest in a lawsuit if someone is willing to take the time and do it. I think there are many others ready to follow.

Great Picture. No it would have a few scratches with that. No I had the disgrunteled employee. Or the 800 pound gorilla sat on it. Or just the crappy roads of IL did it in. No word as to when the parts will get here. No MCO yet. I haven't had the time to hound them yet. Hey mortar I"ll be up in Freeport on the 21st Sneeks Farm (Sneek In Fun Fly) with some model airplanes. Great time might be a good scoot ride for ya. . That is If you get the paper work. And with all this down time from scooten. Been replacing Vacuum lines and the fuel pump came but not the regutalor. For got order that. But not sure if its needed either. I need to call them about this thirty day thing. The scoot is useless with out there paper work. So I would hold the post mark of the envelope as proof of date received .

Damn ATVDiscounter is a Crummy Worthless Excuse for a business!! I ordered a left handlebar switch from them a week & 1/2 ago. and Rob, the service mgr. was supposed to call me back in a week to let me know he recieved the part and it was on its way to me. So, now its 1.5 weeks later and He has my $73 from Credit Card and I don't know where in on Earth my part is that makes all my lights work. Without my switch i have no running lights at all just brake lights.
If I can't reach anyone by the end of the week, I'm going to see about getting my money back and ordering the part on ebay for $58+ $8 s/h, even though ATVDiscounter was going to refund my $73 after I sent them my defective switch.
If you haven't ordered from ATVDiscounter yet, DON'T!!!!!!!!

I used to post here telling people to avoid them. Some here disagreed with me. Then one morning I got an email from them saying they were going to sue me. I should have been careful to say, "it's my opinion" when I said they are liars. They have deeper pockets than me so I deleted my comments from this forum and elsewhere on the web. I am still waiting to hear from their lawyer.
I get a certain amount of satisfaction to see others finding out what I already knew.

How many people work at this place? I've received a couple of emails from Sheri Barling and Glenn Barling. Now there's a Trisha Barling? Is this a family run Mom & Pop store? If there's another family member somewhere else out there I'm sure they're the head of a department-yet-to-be-named. By the way, I'm the President of the "cleaning up the garage and taking out the trash" department. I think the comment about this being a house of cards is very correct.
To be honest, I'm tempted to hook up the trailer and drive up to Ft. Worth to pick up my scooter myself. That way I'm sure to get all the paperwork and get a scooter without any damage.

Hey, I just read another post and there's a Nathan Barling. This really is a family affair. Actually, I sent an email yesterday to the beloved Barling family stating that if they don't respond to my email by Friday afternoon I'm going to ask for a FULL refund. I put a read receipt on the email and they haven't even opened it up yet. I wonder if they do read their email.
If I do get a refund and take my business elsewhere it would probably cost me more money than a trip up to Ft. Worth. I think the trip may happen if I don't see some progress within the next week.

Good luck my fellow Dawg, like most of us who have purchased from ATVD, we are starting to get more then a little concerned.
I will give them until Monday and then the process starts of cancelling. As Duke had noticed they have changed thier policy in mid stream, lets hope we all come out of this in a good way.

Before I knew better, I bought a scoot a couple of years ago from one of the infamous, at the time, drop shippers. I was lucky in that I did receive my scoot, undamaged, even if the color was wrong and they lied about wheel/tire size specs. I am truly sorry for the problems you folks are having w/ATVD and hope you are able to get some sort of satisfactory resolution.
Unfortunately, it seems to be a human weakness that if someone sounds nice and seems helpful on the phone before the purchase, we place trust in them. There is a special place for folks who do business like this and gip others. They will get theirs eventually. It may not be today or tomorrow but what goes around, comes around!

You know what's really sad about all of this is that they are in a prime position to capitalize on a huge portion of the scooter market because they are already established. Their reputation keeps going down and their customers will stop doing business with them. They are really throwing this opportunity in the toilet because of the way they are treating their customers.
If this was my company I would be ramping up my inventory for every penny increase in gas prices. Not only that, I would be personally responding to each customer letting them know the situation for any delay. This is no way to conduct business.

Ok there is an update. After my last e-mail I was told that my purchase will be canceled and my money will be refunded in 72 hours. Let's see if they will keep their word this time and I get my money back so I can start over if I start over cause I had enough time scootin this year already!
Good luck to everyone with ATVD
