Going on thirteen years at an engineering firm doing reprographics and digital imaging. Two more years and I can just spend the whole day scooting.

Sounds like a nice gig tankcommander. Two more years and I might be able to afford a pot of bean soup.

I am new to the forums, but very suprised to see alot of people closer to my age group enjoying scootering.
I own a computer repair shop along with my ex-wife.
It's not as bad as it sounds, we actually get along much better now then when we were married.
I was recently diagnosed with tonsillar cancer and she has really supported me and taken a lot of the extra work load that I haven't been able to do without complaining.
I just got out of surgery 6 days ago and it has been a little rough. Good news is that they got 100% of the cancer out with clear margins! I am now 100% cancer free, though in a couple of weeks I am scheduled for a radiation regimen to make sure. Not looking forward to that!
None of this has dampened my enthusiasm for scooting though, I have some money set aside to buy the RXi150, but temporarily held off to make sure everything is going to work out financially. (I am raising a 15 year old girl and an 11 year old boy with the ex.)
I should be ordering it by the end of the month and plan to ride it to radiation treatment which will be every morning for six weeks, oh boy!

Hey Toxi!
Enjoy that scoot in better health, ok?!
Surfborg and Slowfire,
I'm driving vans and buses too, for Vail (AZ) school district. I'm doing a lot of special need work because I'm good with the kids. (They like being driven around by someone who's a big kid himself!) Anyhow, I'm getting ready to start classes again to get my teaching certificate. Wish me luck!

Hi Denny, welcome. What instrument do you play? I play a little bass now and then. It's a little difficult to haul the equipment with a scooter though.

Hi all, I'm fairly new here, a refugee from that other scooter place. I'm an auto mechanic, 35 years now. Actually we are called technicians now but made more money before the "promotion". Been riding motorcycles for 42 years, just got my scooter in December and am having more fun riding it than any of my bigger and faster bikes. In fact , I just sold my 750 Yamaha; it kept getting heavier somehow. Put in 4 years in Naval aviation, '66-'70. Had commercial pilot license and CFI at one time, gave it up for more affordable pursuits. I noticed quite a few pilots while reading these posts; airplanes and 2-wheelers have always seemed to attract the same people. I still find myself stopping at little airports when out on my bikes (motorized and non-motorized). Not that there are many little airports left around here in SE PA :-(

Hi Lee - I play guitar and bass - been playing for about 45 years. I'm just 10 days old for scootin' though. I'm really loving the TGB. I don't know much about them but the research says they're pretty good and the warranty can't be beat. This seems lile a pretty friendly forum. Glad to know you guys/gals. Anyone in Vermont or near?

I started out working at an AM radio when I was 15. I stayed there through college, and after 12 years in radio I spent 12 years in television. I did everything from engineering to sales to on-air work to traffic. Then ten years ago I got into higher education where I specialize in the utilization of IP video. My first scooter was a Honda Aero 80 in 1983. That was followed by a 1998 Honda Helix. My wife wanted something smaller so the Helix went to a new home and we purchased a 2004 TGB 150 cc scooter, I have an RX150i on the way from John at Valley Scooters.

Denny,
The TGB has been okay so far. When we got it a couple of weeks ago it had 1100 miles on it. We've put about 150 on it so far and no problems. I changed the engine oil and gear oil (I don't know when it was done last) right away and I need to pull out the spark plug and check it. My daughter is using it constantly -- though it was supposed to be her mother's scooter! Mother and daughter both got their licenses after completing the safety course a month ago.

Respiratory Therapist. I'm the guy who tells you not to smoke, but is secretly glad that you do! (Job security!) J/K, but most of my patients do have COPD related to smoking. In my spare time, I'm a musician (drums and guitar), like to skydive, cycle and run. And now, I'm a rookie Scooterite! ;D Thanks Bill

After lots fo trying to figure out which job I like and don't like, I'm back in school right now getting my MSES (masters in exercise science) but I don't plan on finishing it.
My plans are to leave the masters program, get my BSN, work for a year, and then go to Nurse Anesthetist school. I've been volunteering at the local hospital for about a year now and I really love the work, so the MSES will be replaced with the BSN.

Engineering Sales, semi-retired. A day in a papermill is really tough to beat for fun. Now mostly help bashful young bucks figure out where to find business. Ride scoot to work in office instead of driving pickup truck to mills & plants.

I've been an Electrician since 1970. Currently a NICET Certified Fire Alarm Systems Electrician at Micron Technology in Boise. I did my stint in the Air Force from 1970 to 1978. Decided one reenlistment was enough. Kick myself in a the a--; I could have been drawing a retirement check since 1990 if I would have stayed in. Bought my Tank this summer after I saw my brother's (tankcommander) new Tank.

I painted houses for 19 years. Then ran the paint crew for a university for another 13... painted about everything there, from furniture finishing to classroom buildings, inside & out, homes on campus, and even painted some of the trucks and grounds equipment. Got tired of breathin paint fumes and solvents, and started a folk music shop specializing in dulcimers. I sell em, teach, perform, and build some. folknotes.comI rode dirt bikes and road bikes from 1971 to '85, then figgered I better quit until I grew up more before I killed myself. Started scootering about a year ago with a B05 49cc (QianJiang). Didn't like the limitations it put on my options for dealing with traffic. Last month I got the Strada RX150TE, and feel more comfortable on it. Haven't had the slightest inclination to get crazy pushing my luck like I used to, riding too hard everywhere. And I'm seldom in a hurry as I quit wearing a watch and looking at the time constantly a couple years ago. If I have to know what time it is I usually carry a cell phone in case of emergencies and can look at it. This is sort of an aside to the topic, but..... if you're in a hurry take your car !
