I'm sorry for this but I've participated in other forums and it can get interesting! I'll go first:
I used to be a Flight Instructor/Commercial Pilot(single engine airplanes bush flying). Then I got my tractor-trailer license and drove cross-country for a year.(Still drive one trip a year for fun/ usually ME-CA or similar. For 13 years I have worked for and now own part of a cleaning and restoration company in ME. We clean carpets, upholstery, tile ect. and do fire, smoke, water, mold, and trauma restoration both residential and commercial. My wife works for a private ambulance company. Lee if this post is uncool for any reason remove it and I shall prepare for thy wrath!

I manage IT resources for a company in Southern Florida. My career goal is retirement.
In my past lives (regressing in order): CAD operator/Mechanical designer Draftsman/Mechanical designer (pencil and paper) Graphics Artist (Air force reserve) Apartment Manager Furnace Operator in a Steel Mill Special Purpose Vehicle Technician (US Air Force) Cook
My first Motorized two wheeler was a Honda 50 Cub at age 14. I tossed a lot of papers from that bike. I bent the crank shaft going down a hill too fast. My father handed me a socket set, a box of parts and said fix it.
I stopped riding Motorcycles when I moved to Florida twenty years ago because of a number of nearly blind drivers I encountered. I started riding again a few months ago. I hope those drivers have passed on to a better life.

Looks like I might be one of the younger members on the board!
I'm a student at the University of North Dakota for a Commercial Aviation Major. I'm a Certified Flight Instructor and Commercial Pilot, and hopefully will be MAKING money to fly soon, not just spending it.
My job on the side is as the lead guitarist for an in-house band at two local restraunts. Currently demand seems to be higher for a musician than it is for a pilot :-)
I just bought my first scooter about a month ago (a Primo Streaker 150, as found on scootertronics) because a cop pulled me over while I was riding my electric scooter on the sidewalk! So, I had to upgrade to something street legal, and here I am!

I run an audio business online. My background is rather eclectic as I've history of getting bored easily. #1. Went to a technical school for welding after high school. #2. Went to work for a division of Union Carbide selling welding supplies, industrial gases and specialty gases (hey Smeagol!). #3. Got pissed off & bored and joined the Army to do something exciting (dumb move) and earn some money to go back to school (smart move). #4. Went to Ball State University and degreed in Chemistry. Chased lots of young girls and landed one. #5. Worked for POS hardware/software company that allowed me to stay close to home. Degreed in Computer Science at night while working. #6. Started my business while working and transitioned to full time after 2 years of working both. My current business allows me to continue to learn so I've stuck with it for a number of years and plan to keep at it. I get to do a lot of engineering on acoustics related stuff (lots of fun). I'm a little older and more patient than I used to be. Having four kids helps keep me planted also....

I am the Managing Director of Human Resources for a private children's behavioral clinic.
We specialize in working with Children with Autism. I still work about 15 hours a week with the kids.
The kids we work with have severe behaviors, such as biting, pinching, spitting, scratching, SIB's (Self injurious behaviors)l, yelling, screaming..etc.
I have worked there for 8 years and love it. We are in the process of starting a group home for children as well.

I am an electrical contractor in Central Florida who invented a tool called CircuitSiren™ out of necessity. It is a patented, UL Listed tester that converts electricity into high pitched sound for faster, easier, and safer electrical testing. Works hands free because it attaches directly to the work, and also does continuity tests which is very helpful with scooter wiring issues. Web site is www.circuitsiren.com. Love scooters and consider myself a pretty good mechanic since I have been working on engines since the age of 12 and now am in my 40's.

Hi Guys, I came across this subject the other day, but didn't have time to reply. God, is everyone on this forum a proffessional?? I'm one of those blue collar people Myself. I moved to Northern IN., about 13 years ago, and became a welder. These days I work for the Country's second largest ambulance manufacturer, mig welding roofs and floors together. Not very glamorous I guess. Before that I served 4 years in the Navy as a radarman. Before that, a little college, learned to fly, trade school, got certified as an auto mechanic, and a few other odds and ends. At 41, I still havn't chosen a career, other than scootering ;D

Laughs, "My collar's blue too," points to hi sentry, "I work for a vending company driving an Isuzu NPR around filling snack, soda and cold food machines... And fixing them, I'm the back up tech and usually save time by fixing the machines on my route m'self."

Well, I always feel very comfortable around "blue collar" workers. When I was a kid and my teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up I said a mechanic, my father was one. He however had other ideas and said no son of his was going to work as hard as he did. He was right, I never had to do the hard physical work but I have worked hard most of my life.

In my county if something nasty is on the news I know who going to be putting on the Tyvek suit, gloves, boots, full face respirator, and putting the swab of vicks menthol under the nose!! I look at him every morning in the mirror! Does strange things to your Physche...... See all posts Aaron

One day a long, long time ago, I was on a mountain road, laying in the snow under a full track tractor (aka bulldozer) with oil driping in may face and wrenchs freezing to my hands. I said to myself, " self, you got to find another line of work ... in doors!"
