I seem to be in the same state with Mrscooters. I ordered a MC-54-250B last Sunday with a credit card, saw my status turn to "processing" the next day, and no word since. I sent email on Friday asking for an update, but I haven't received a response. I really don't care much about how long it takes for me to get it, but I'd like some info. I guess I'll try a phone call...

please let me know if the phone call is successful!
i would like to know if the bike is coming this year or next?
a very poor way to run a business!
i am not at home or even in the area a lot of the time. i need a day or so to make arrangements to be home for delivery.

From reading this thread I would hazard a guess that mrscooters prefers MO/Check over CC either due to problems with CC companies or with the fees they charge. If you pay by MO/Check it appears you get your scooter pretty fast, but you lose leverage with no recourse of filing a complaint thru your CC Co in case of problems.

yeah, it's kind of a double edged sword for those who aren't afraid to throw caution to the wind.. I myself do not recommend doing what I did unless you are prepared to make this an AS IS WHERE IS transaction. Your warranty is pretty much worthless anyway, but it is a warranty.. Better than nothing as my momma always said.. ANd although communication isn't great, they do appear to be making good on replacement parts.. Albeit pretty slowly... But, again, in their defense, they are obviously a small company, who is very busy.. The busy season is coming to a close, so they should be getting a bit better on communication and warranty issues soon.. Time will tell... JimK

I ordered on Saturday August 23rd, Express mailed the check Monday the 25th, it arrived the 26th (according to the tracking info).
I was told the bike would ship the day payment is received. Then I was told they received the payment Wednesday, and the bike shipped on a friday (At like 4:55 PM California time). Sat on a delivery trailer in Saia's yard all weekend (labor day to boot!) and made it's way from California to Kansas City in 3 days. delivery driver said it's the biggest one he's ever delivered.
But for all the issues with Mr. Scooters speed and missed promises, the bike is very nice. I did the PDI this weekend, and couldn't find any loose wires. Did find some loose bolts in the body, but notinn too bad. Had to break out the tap & die set on a few bolts & holes, and had a hard time getting coolant to circulate again, but otherwise it is better than expected. Did find that you can simply unplug the alar, siren without losing the remote start, for whatever good it is. I'm thinking I will re-wire the scooter horn into the alarm and hook up a better one for the horn.
Still waiting on the MCO, girlfriend called Friday and was told they sent it express mail, but it was late so we may not see it until today, but we'd have it today at the latest. I'm going tomorrow for my license, so hopefully can get tags at the same time. (Fingers crossed!)
Overall, MrScooters.com has been a positive experience for me. But not everyone is willing to send a 2K check to a stranger in another state for something they cannot see first. Just be prepared to spend some time hittiing redial if you're going to call him.

you guys that ordered with CC did you do CC or googlecheckout? They do not take straight cc anymore. I orderd in july and it took them 2 weeks to tell me that i had to either send a MO as they would not take CC. Then in Aug they started google checkout. I was the first person to use that from them. Ordered with gco on a tuesday and got the scooter the next tuesday, with mco that friday. I had to rebuy with gco though and their site shows i have two scooters still in processing.

the website says that they will send a google checkout request for funds. i ordered as it requires on the site and am still waiing for some response. i will probably cancel and order from someone who cares or at least corresponds. i am really tired of the complete lack of concern for the business.
i found someone wih the scooter cheaper anyway!

I tried in vain to get mrscooters to respond to my email and phone calls for the past 5 days. As stated by others, nobody answers the phone and the voicemail inbox is full, so I can't leave a message. I have just sent them another email telling them to cancel the order and I will dispute any charges and will not accept any shipment.
I don't know what problems this guy is having, but I want a scooter (or at least some information) and will purchase it elsewhere. I wish him luck in straightening it all out, because it sounds like that at one time, he was running a good business.

you wont believe this!-- i cancelled the order and got an email confirming the cancellation within the same day!!! if he spent this much effort communicating up front, the order wouldn't be cancelled! go figure.
anyway, i will keep everyone posted on the new order and the type of service provided.
have a great day- chuck

well my licence plate got taken away after a month because the MCO has to be signed. I was so glad i got my plates and didnt have to deal with trying to contact mr scooters again. So this ought to be fun. Lady also told me that these scooters arent legal in IA. Hope shes wrong about that as i see lots of scooters just like mine everyday.

Boo... Sounds like BS to me... My MCO came 'signed' with a stamp that had two chop-marks and a signature as well. Did yours not have these? It seems like it should be their problem if they didnt actually examine the MCO when you came in to register... but so it goes. Did she give you a reason for these not being legal in IA? Was yours manufactured by Shanghai Shenke? Good luck... here's a bone to gnash your teeth against...

my mco was just laser printed no actual pen and they dont take that i guess. She just said that "those Chinese scooter" are street legal. Some one at work for 110cc pocket bike and got that license and this is a way more legal that that is.
its a jmstar fiji.
I called Mrscooters, didnt get an answer, but then he called me back! Said he would reissue a Signed version and ship it tomorrow. Hope this is true. I about keeled over when i saw the caller id on my phone was mrscooters.

Update on MRScooter.. Got an email from them, just to see how things have been going, And talked to them about how things are going with them. Sales have slowed now. And they are able to concentrate more on the service side of things.. They are working to improve that. And are working with Goldenvale(Roketa) to get Thier own service manual, and the rights to use the parts list pictures on their own website.. They are really trying to get ready for next year to be a new improved MrScooter.. Which is great to see.. The credit card issues were also addressed in our conversation.. They told me they had problems because many credit card companies wont deal with dropshippers anymore, because of too many issues in the past with other dropshipping companies.. Even Google and Paypal are getting more stringent, and if you have too many large dollar sales, they can opt to hold funds until an investigation into what these sales are, and whether you have any good history of order fulfillment, then they can either release the funds or cancel the transaction. Anyway, they do seem to be honestly trying to become a decent and honest seller... Very refreshing to see..
Anyone else have any updates on their MrScooter purchase?

Just an update - Since I the MC-168B-150, everything is great. I have also changed the oil and the gear oil. I have 600 miles on it so far and I really enjoy it. I recently emailed MrScooters about the windshield and they said they would send a replacement (although I haven't received it yet, I feel sure I will). Also, I've been having problems with the battery. If I go as much as 3 days and don't ride, the battery is dead and I have to recharge it. I emailed them about it and they are emailed me back and said they would send a replacement on 9/24. Haven't received it yet, but I feel I should receive it this week. Great job to MrScooters for trying to get the kinks out. I'm sure they were so overwhelmed with orders, they just did not know what to do. Seems like they are getting their act together. If you've had a problem, email them again.

I have not been in the forum since Aug. I bought my MC-54-150 from Mr. Scooter in June about the time they said that the cc machine was down. I was one of the first on the forum to send a cashier's check. They even gave me more of a price break than was advertised for having faith in them. I got the scooter and it has been great since. I had one problem. My gas gage did not work. I e-mailed Mr. Scooter and they said to find out the problem and they would make it right. That was in Aug. I have gotten use to not having the gas gage working. I know that I get between 78-81 mpg. When I get 130 miles on a tank I refill. I really forgot about even trying to fix it. Today, Sept 29 I received a package from Mr. Scooter. It was a whole new dash. All of the gages and speedometer. it is even up graded form the one I have. I think that Mr. Scooter deserves a dawg bone or two for even remembering that I had a non working gage. I am having a blast on my scooter. I now have 1,200 miles on it and not one other problem. I hope that everyone else can enjoy their scooter as much as I am. Still only have a permit. Can't take the safety curse until next spring. It is getting dark earlier now and I have a hard time getting home before it gets dark and have taken some chances. Soon I will not be able to do that. Everyone have a great evening and enjoy the thrill of riding a scooter.

Hey Dennis, I live in Columbus, and I too am permit only right now.. I renewed my license years ago, and they had forgot to put the endrsement on there.. I didn't notice it till much later... by then, nothing they could do, I would have to take the test again they said.. So, I said oh well, wasn't riding then.. But now I am, and I still ride at night, even with just the permit.. I talked to a few local cops around here, and as long as you don't do anything to raise their eyebrows, they wont bother you.. And if they do check you, they most likely wont ticket you, just tell you to get home. Now, I'm not telling you to break the law, but I'm telling you the local cops around here feel it's an outdated law that needs revising.. JimK

update on mrscooters. i purched 3 scooters from mrscooters . a mc-13-150 bali ,mc-08-50 maui, and a mc-54-250b .i had a minor issue with the bali and it was quickly resolved.the 50cc maui is running great no problems.the mc-54-250b had a serious problem.after a few miles it was leaking engine oil from the waterpump . but oil was not getting into water, no water in engine oil.but leaked oil from water pump.and the fuel gauge quit working on the way home. i e-mailed mike at mrscooters and informed him of my problems. he quickly sent me a new water pump, fuel tank sensor and a complete instrument panel.mrscooters even went to roketa and picked up the parts .and and sent them express mail.. after installing the new parts the 250b . is running great, thank you mike ,at mrscooters. ...... mrscooters you are great you get a gold star for your after purchase support. .... keep up the good work

I called them once and they said they would ship it priority and still now MCO. Its now turned cold here and im sure im pretty much done for the year. I hope i get an mco before next season. Scooter is pretty much useless without plates on it.

Mr Scooters is the best! I said the mc-16-150 had flames and I didnt like them, and he sent me NEW PANELS! No flames! I love that guy! Scooters arrived in good shape and other than a small brake issue, seem to be running smoothly. Thanks Mike!!!!! Scoot is Beautiful!

Well, I just rec'd my replacement windshield which was broken during shipping almost 2 months ago (see earlier posts). When I e-mailed MrScoot they said replacement parts were half off, so I just ignored the e-mail. Lo and behold a FREE replacement arrived today. Talk about the wow factor in customer service. I was not expecting the windshield at all. This re-affirms for me how well Mr.Scooters is taking care of the cust. after the sale! ;D

I have an MC-68B-150 - Large cowl with windshield, radio with tape player which has a clock etc. etc. It also has an additional clock on the right side of the dash. I have trouble with my battery draining. Mr. Scooters sent me a replacement, but just wondering if anyone is having a problem with battery draining also. As long as I ride it every day I'm fine, but if I wait 3 days, it will not crank and I have to charge the battery. I have not replaced the battery yet, but will soon. I am also having trouble with the kick starter. In the past it has worked fine, but will not work now -- nearly break my foot trying. Does the kill switch have to be on for it to work? It is a great scooter and MrScooters has taken care of my after the sale issues.
