Here are some photos of Rover's travels in my neck of the woods. The first photo is a monument to "The Mothball Fleet", a group of WWII Naval ships that were mothballed in the Hudson River for many years after the war. They were eventually sold to some Japanese auto manufactururers for scrap metal. The next two photos are at Bear Mountain State Park The next two photos are the entrance to West Point Military Academy The next photo shows Rover in the foreground and Indian Point Nuclear generating Facilty across the Hudson River in the background. Indian point is one of the oldest Nuclear plants in the country. Constantly having operating problems, our community has been fighting to get it shut down for years. The last photo is one of the local MC / Scooter shops in my area. I will be posting more photos soon. At this point, I have no member to pass him along to. Treesoup is still out of action. If anyone else wants to hook up with me. Just gimme a hollar.

Hi Mustang,
looks like Rover is getting a good look at the New York sights. Thanks for the great pics. I have a couple of him at a restaurant with us but I haven't got them posted up yet.
Ride safe, Ride long.

Great pics! Rover should be hyped and ready to enlist any day now! Guess he wants to do his time as an officer; explains his visit to the USMA! ;d

Apologies to all for not being on the forums for a while. Final exams and projects, as well as my 3X a week 40+ mile scooter commute in the cold got in the way of organizing.
Since its a wee bit cold to ride in the north it's probably okay to mail rover wherever. Let's have fun

Too bad Rover got stuck in the north ! I'm still riding in SC ! Just left for Fla for 10 days too. I know there are lots of scoots here that would take him for a ride ! I guess I should of mentioned this before I left SC for Fla !
If he had a wet suit, he could of gone diving with us too !

I thought everyone voted against the UPS thing, but I'll do whatever you guys and gals want. I am not afraid to ride in the cold either. I just need someone to volunteer to meet in New Jersey somewhere. It's 14 degrees today and that is just not possible, but I'm up for anything from 30 degrees and above. Let me know Dawgs.

How are we to know if we are going to be participating? We have just over a month and the weather should be breaking for the summer heat.. There really should be a "Scheduled pattern of Travel" or something like that..

It's really more of a free-for-all thing. I would suggest this. If going route A would bypass someone, and route B would go to the same place, albeit with one more person, go route B. The reason I just had everyone put themselves on the map was that not everything goes as planned, people move, can't do stuff for one reason or another etc...

I still have him safe and sound. I haven't been on the board much lately, crazy busy trying to make a living. It's rough out there!! Anyway, I'm ready to pass him on as soon as the elements allow. PM me if you want.

He got stuck in the Northeast because of the Weather. The good news is that spring is a coming. Closest scooterist to Mustang is Treesoup in Philly, then I think Honkerman is around lancaster

I thought Treesoup was next, but I will be venturing northward in April, so I could pick Rover up on my way through. I still need to plan my route anyway, so I'm up for whatever. I had planned on goin' up through the Poconos and then through the water gap in PA, then up 209 through the Catskills in New York, then down 23 into Massachusetts to end in Westfield. I could change that around a little if I had to.

Actually, if Mustang and Boonie could meet up and transfer Rover, I'll be traveling to Massachusetts between the 17th and 22nd of April, so I could pick him up while I'm there, then transfer him to Treesoup a week or two later. I dunno whether that's feasible or not...just an idea.

April? That'll be peak riding season for most people. We probably want to get him farther south by then.

Honkerman, I'm pretty sure Mustang is south of me by a long way, I'm in Northampton Ma. and not very far from where you will end up in Westfield. By the way you better have good brakes on that puppy or you'll end up in the westfield river, you have about a ten mile down hill run ending suddenly at the river where rt. 23 ends. I can pick it up there but it will be a long ride to New york from Westfield, we might have to get Preachp involved again let me know. Dan. aka Boonie

I grew up there after all... right in Woronoco actually, I remember a lot of action at the bottom of that hill when I was a kid...A tanker lost his brakes and went off the edge there once...We could hear the sirens and see the fire from our house on the other side of the river...went to a small private school in Northampton until fourth grade as well...so familiar with the town (the school's long gone). My brakes are pretty good, and I'll actually be taking the Gen. Knox trail...not quite so bad coming down out of the mountains that way...I think she'll handle the hills out of Otis and Blandford ok too, though I might go the long way around to avoid having to go up Tannery hill in Blandford. I don't think my scoot is quite up to going up that hill...plus, my Uncle lives back on one of the back roads near there, so I might pop in and say hello. Maybe he'll be up for a ride...he's got a Harley Sportster, but he's not one of the macho Harley types (he's also 75 or so...hehe)... Yeah, if PreachP and Mustang can work out getting Rover to you, that would work out.

Rover made a brief visit to my Scoter store here in Northvale NJ but I understand from Karl that he liked NY so much he decided to hole up for winter until the warmer riding season returned.

Just wanted everyone to know that I'm still alive and well and ready to get Rover back up and running. Today it's colder than a landlord's heart, but soon I will pass him along. I started the scoot today and gave it the "once over". I ready when the weather and treesoup are.
