Work as a nurse at a correctional facility. Travel 40 mile to work. Love scooting. Not many other people in this area have them. Coworkers make fun of my "chick magnet" but it costs me $1.50 to commute. HA HA.

Currently, I'm a mechanical designer for Halliburton (think oil drilling). Past designer jobs: medical tools for trauma patients, valve testing systems for the nuclear industry, engine generator systems for the military, overhead cranes, and packaging systems for the pharmaceutical industry.

Lemme see...I've done car delivery for Hertz, rock musician (several bands), telephone operator for US Sprint, aircraft dispatcher and ops agent, carny rat, nutritionist, neuroscientist, college teacher, composer and sound designer for community theater (which is HUGE in Minnesota), and now I'm not employed. ("Taking time off for my health.") I've got FAA licenses as a private pilot and part 121 dispatcher, though I'm not using either anymore. I'm volunteering to mentor kids for the Twin Cities Regional Science Fair, and as an exhibit interpreter at the Science Museum of Minnesota. When I grow up I wanna be a astronaut!

howdy, i had not been to this thread befor, but here goes. i think it safe to say i've made most of my living driving. joined teamsters in '72 and went construction in 73 starting out on a euc . in about '83 things were tough in construction so bought a truck and went interstate. was injured and disabled in 85 and went to college for 5 of the eight years of disability. in 93 went back to construction truck driving as an educated driver with some degrees. used some of it in about 95 working as safety adviser on a large contract for the company i was construction trucking for. not having the ability to tell people to do something and have them think it was thier own idea, i went back to driving in a few months but left a reputation enough for the company to retain government contracts. i retired with pension three months ago , but am back trucking in the harvests here in the great northwest. as a hobby, while in college i took flying lessons from a roommate who was newly certificated as instructor. he offered to instruct me for free and pay half the aircraft. i was his first student and he was "sweating on BOTH sides" when he signed me off for solo in a beech musketeer. i developed diabetes so never did the flight exam for certificate though completing all the requirements. i reward myself occasionally with a training flight including tail dragger and float plane.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya

Started out as a paramedic then transitioned to law enforcement and now am a full time law enforcement instructor teaching first aid, DT, and pursuit driving. I'll be eligible for retirement in a couple of years but will probably hang around longer than that.
Started scootin' about a year ago on a Honda Ruckus and enjoyed it so much (it's hard to take life too seriously while riding a Ruckus - LOL) I moved up to a Hyosung MS3 last month. Most of my friends think I'm somewhat eccentric but I think they are just secretly envious. ;D

am retired. painting watercolours now, putzing around the garden. loving on my Percherons, growing garlics and flowers.
I used to be a Paramedic for Bronx area. Then, moved to Michigan, and was offered a job as CO for Barry County, where I was let go after a year and a half for being "too nice". I was hired by city police to do city walk beat, and then, I left after being tortured by a woman who lived to see people cry. The day after I left, they fired her and escorted her out of the building. I still think maybe I should be recompensed for losing that job due to her.

Currently employed as a salesman at a large company here in Nashville selling residential and commercial HVAC systems. I currently have about 15 years experience doing that, my last job was wonderful. I worked at Hobby Lobby International, (the model airplane/helicopter/boat Hobby Lobby), as a product development manager. My specialty was ready to fly R/C planes and helicopters. I had the opportunity to travel to China and Germany in search of new RC products for sale on the company website. Unfortunately that job only lasted 6 months. The economy killed sales and I was terminated! It was great while it lasted though, got to play with all the models and at one time I had 21 electric helicopters, as many airplanes and a couple of RC boats. Prior to those jobs I sold insurance, appliances, and even worked in a motorcycle shop in high school doing the PDI's for Honda cycles. After two years in college I joined the US Air Force and spent 20 years there with some wonderful assignments. All in all I've had some wonderful life experiences, married to the same woman coming up on 43 years, two daughters, and soon to be 4 grandchildren! Life is good and within a week or so I should be getting a new scoot from gsmotorworks, Yeah!

I started my working career as a draftsman, became a designer doing HVAC, Plumbing and Boiler room designs for the commercial industry. I was the first person in Utah to do CAD and won an award from the govener of the Utah for it. After way to many years of overtime I went to computer programming school. Got a degree which I never used but it pushed me into owning my own PC store for awhile, Then going to work for one of my suppliers and for 19 years selling computers and components to resellers, educational and goverment. Boredom overtook too me and I went semi-retired and went to work with one of my customers doing IT work. The IT thing is really fun and challenging. Something I really needed. We take care of mostly medical and dental customers. I will probably do that until I really retire.

I started my working life as a motorcycle mechanic and graduated to cars. Got hired as a field service rep for a car manufacture and worked my way into product development. It was a great job. Always had a free car and gas. Alas we call know how well that industry is doing. After I got laid off the wife and I (she is from China) came here to visit her family and I found out that English language teachers can make OK $$ and it is VERY cheap to live here. I can save a ton of money. So we decided to say a few years and save. Once things turn around we will come back to the USA. Turns out I am having the time of my life. And I get to ride on the sidewalks here! Woot.

6 years as a News Videographer (CBS).
4 Years as a Music Video Film Maker. One of the videos earned a Billboard Magazine best video award.
Now I travel the world documenting compassion and relief work. Probably more than 100 international trips (I’ve lost count). 71 countries so far.
The Action Adventure highlights: Shot in Afghanistan during the first days of the War (2001). One of the few videographers to make it into (and more importantly out of ;D) North Korea.

HI, I used to run a few oil change places. I hurt my shoulders back in Sept. 2003. Now I have finally got a release to go back to work. However the restrictions are 30lbs and no overhead lifting. Now they pay me to look for work. I guess it could be worse.
