Hi Summersmoon, Yes its your chain guard. I have the PST150H Trike and mine broke as well. Its the Rear Bracket right by the Rear Sprocket. It breaks right by the Screw Hole. If you notice the rear bracket is 1/16 in thickness and the front one is 1/8 thick its also cheap metal.
I had the welder take the rear bracket off and make a new bracket 1/8 thick with good metal. Also check the guard itself you may fine cracks in it so get those hit with a weld as well. Alleyoop

summersmoon Yep, sounds like the chain guard.. If you go back through this thread you'll see the pics on how I fixed it. After making the repairs, I added a 3rd mounting bracket to chain guard, fastens at muffler mount bolt.. I did the welding & cleaned, then repainted, & baked in oven at 180 deg. for 30 minutes, turn over off & let it slow cool..
The only problems I've had so far is spark plug threads in head, chain guard broke, stock air filter is crumbling apart..
I recommend you replace the Chinese grease fitting on the differential w/ a 6mm US style grease fitting, & pump some grease into the differential.. Mine started to make funny noises w/ in just a few short miles, after I added grease the funny noises went away..

OK Scoot Dawg's My stock air filter crumbled (broke in 6 places), so I custom built an Stainless Steel Intake Velocity Stack - ID 38mm, accepts a 44mm 2 stage air filter..

Dwild62, You are the most handy ROAST EATING TURKEY I know:) WOW! what a setup, so where did you put someting to stop crude from being sucked in. And by all means let us know what if anything bad or good this did or didn't do for the Trike.
Another question, How and why did your Filter crumble and fall apart. Was your filter Like Mine the pictures I sent you on this forum? Alleyoop

Thank you for the infor. Would I take it to a scooter shop or a machine type shop? Its making me nervous with all that has gone wrong on yours. I love riding it. I really love peoples reaction to it. Hard to get away from places so many stop and ask questions about it.

Hi Summersmoon, Usually a scooter shop will not do welding and since its Chinese they will probably tell you they don't work on those. You can take the Guard off yourself and take the guard to a Machine shop or Hot Rod shop. And don't worry you can still ride it without the guard. The screw in front is screwed into the rear of the engine case. You will notice that the front guard is built up to align the quard with the chain. So when putting the screw back in without the guard get a Nut and use it as a spacer. And do not tightened that screw real tight just snuge. Alleyoop

Alleyoop Well, I'm not sure why stock filter crumbled, because it was bolted to the bracket just like your's is.. Yes, it WAS exactly like yours.. My Custom Stainless Steel Velosity Stack accepts a 44mm 2 stage Air Filter at the open end, It's just that I don't have one yet.. I'll order one tomorrow.. I'll also buy a K&N Drycharger sleeve, that goes over filter to keep water & mud off the actual filter itself..

Summersmoon I don't want to scare you away, but the 3 problems I've had w/ the BEAR is nothing to the 2008 Longbo Alien 150cc I bought in 5/2009.. I worked on the Longbo Alien 2 -3 days just to ride it for 1 day.. You don't even want to hear of all the problems I've had with that one.. Next month I'm going to tare the Longbo Alien down & do a total rebuild, believe it or not I bought it brand new to!! This ICE BEAR is a si of relief actually..

Dwild62, now you are probably going to have to re-jet the carb. There will be a lot of air being sucked in there Just like a TURBO CHARGER WE HOPE:) Just keep us informed on the outcomes and any benefits. Heck if it pumps up your horses I will order one from you. Just think about it you could make some extra buckoos on the side to buy more stuff:) Alleyoop

Dwild62, just so you know, I ordered a new muffler just to have a spare from Ice Bear it arrived today. It cost $126.00, you get the complete exhaust system, muffler, pipe, gasket, springs, bolts and nuts. Alleyoop

Well I picked up my Ice Bear PST150-11 trike on Monday, I have about 60 klics on it now. It only broke down 2 times, and the chain gaurd boke on the way home. The first break down was when I stopped for gas at about 16 klics, it was dead when I tried to leave gas station, found that the battery was laying near the bottom of storage area and both cables were loose, the fuse had popped, installed new fuse tightened up cables, and put battery back where it belongs, screwed cover in place, lets see how long it stays there. The second was later that evening we went to dinner when leaving the battery was dead, we got to try out the rope starter. Rode 1 mile home restarted fine, started the next day too. It was too windy yesterday to take it out, too much flying debris. I have not decided if I am happy with my purchase yet.

Hi Troops, The battery came loose? Mine there is a built in cubby square that the battery fits into and it has 2 hooks that the battery strap hooks onto, also the entire area has a cover that has two screws to hold the lid down. I am not familiar with the 11 but under the sit they should be pretty much sameo sameo.
Thats a bummer about your chain guard, mine lasted 400 U.S mile it just broke last week. Read Dwidl62 and My write up how we fixed ours. Well you have the benefit of things that can go wrong I have had mine since June 23rd. I finally got all the rattles and virbration things fixed and it is nice and quiet and running like a champ. Alleyoop On the PST150-11 the battery only sets into a cavity that's only about 1" - 2" deep, then there's like a 3 sided cover w/ a top that screws down around & over top of battery, so if the screws come out of that cover, the battery can jump out & slide down into storage bucket.. If lock washers are used on the screws like I did, it can't go any where.. I like how they did it, because it really easy to get to the battery.. Don't know it for sure, but it sounds like maybe a PDI wasn't performed..

Dwild62, Mine has a better setup for the battery and it also has hooks and a strap to hold the battery down. Not that it would come out of the cubby hole without the strap because the seat almost hits the bulge on the cover so even if the two screws came off the cover would not be able to come off the Battery.
It sure appears that a PDI was not performed or it was and it was a 1/2 job.
Today I let my Brother-in Law ride mine on the 45mph street by us here the one with 3 stretchs of about 1/4 mile each before each Stop light. I rode his and he rode mine back to my house. He could not believe how smooth mine is and how much qucker it gets up to speed and the Low Rpms at WOT. His is stock and its night and day everything rattles and I was screaming at 8100 Rpms doing 50mph. He cannot twist a wrench I told him what I have done so I am sure it will be in my garage getting his up to snuff:) Alleyoop

I have about 37 miles, I also noticed the the left rear tire that I showed the dealer on Sunday was low, is low again. It would appear that the dealer did a very poor PDI. Dwild62 are you making more of those air filter extension tubes? Do all Ice Bears trikes have a headlight off switch as mine does, I thought since about the 80's bikes had the lights on always. Also the outside (anolog) part of speedo is supposed to miles, and the digital is k/m? I am supposed to bring back at 150 miles for a free oil change and service.

kenb6656 The digital speedo is 100% km or more like Chinometers, off by about 16km (10 mph).
Well I might, I've been thinking of making a few velocity stacks, I'd have to price the materials..
Ya, I thought there was that head light law to. Mine has the head light switch..
I'd seriously consider doing a complete PDI, including pulling body skin & checking nuts & bolts & screws, add lock & flat washers, thread locker on some nuts & bolts. If you want to add flat & lock washers, you'll need about 120 of each.. Took me 2 days just to take the body skin off, another 2 days to do PDI & put body skin back on. Also recommend you replace the Chinese Grease fitting in the differential w/ 6mm US style grease fitting & pump some grease into the differential. Dwild62, I filled mine up with grease about two weeks after I got it, took quite of bit of grease to fill it up. Have to keep those Pinions greased good.
As far as the headlight law here in Illinois the law is you must have your lights on. It does not say that the Product must turn them on automatically when its running. So if your riding and you haven't put your lights on and its the end of the month the fuzz will pull you over and give you a $75.00 ticket, or if you beg he may just give you a warning:) Alleyoop

als01seville Ya, it show in the pics.. That why I built it that way, it's supported by the swing frame.. W/ out the support it would break the intake manifold..
4 of us ate that whole 8 lb roast!! ;D ;D I told my wife if I have a heart attack & died at the dinner table, at least I didn't die hungry!! ;D ;D
I ordered a pair of CNC mirror risers & a V-Band Clamp for the BEAR..

I did not notice a differential, I know there is a transmission of sorts, at the front end of the chain, the axle end should be where the diff is, I guess I need to look a little closer. Possibly the diff is smaller than I would think, or does not look like a traditional diff. This is my first (mainland) China scoot. I have a '84 Honda Elite 125, and a '07 Kymco People S250.

Hey Dwild wish I had seen the jets as would have advised ya to get the miniature drill set and drill your own size! Get it wrong fill with soldier and just re-drill easy and saves quite a few bucks! JRR

jrryan Ya, where would I buy that size drill bits? I've got # bits, but the smallest I've got is #60.. I've got 2 other scoots to work on so I'd like to get the smaller bits.. Guess I'll have to do some Googling.. The solder fudging is good, probably wouldn't have thought of that, thanks for good fudge Ider..
I've got about $30. w/ shipping in the 10 jets, rather than $50. other places..
Got my Leather mask, CNC mirror risers, & Perma Coil spark Plug thread repair kit today..
Alleyoop Ya, I'm going to try it.. Not expecting much from it though, because the angle is wrong, but may a few miles will weir the angle in, but if nothing else I figure it'll work for a spare..
