Friends, I am trying to locate the gear oil inspection (fill) screw and the drain screw and cannot find it. Ok, I am not the best with engines, but I should at least be able to spot the screw. Can one of the better wrenches of this forum talk me through finding the fill and drain screw? I am following Kiwi's oil change schedule... One final question...the "diff" oil is the gear oil, Steve Found it. Left rear...rear facing.

I use Castrol EPX axle oil 80-90 weight - any one do the same?

any brakepad for PGO T-rex150 or Trex250 will do. I use Premier PS250 brake pads which is for the PGO scoots. Almost 40 000kms on the scoot and never a problem with dash. Only one rear light out is definitely the bulb not the switch. The switch switch both rear lights. Look in this thread where I show how to get into the back lights. Look for how to change brake pads too. bye for now Kiwiscoot

No, Ferodo made motorcycle brake pads with the brand-name "Premier". Strange the dealer where I got them from does not list them on his website anymore and I can't find anything on them on the web. Pity as they were cheap and good. Luckily I got two sets last time. I have used SBS pads, good but hard on the rotor and expensive. The SYM pads does not give a good feel. Look here scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=200cc&action=display&thread=16772&page=8 for a list of brake pads. My front and rear are the same as the front.

Well Kiwi, I am back on a Citycom again! My son had taken over my old one, leaving me with no choice but to buy a new HD200 (can't get the Citycom in the U.SA.) - turns out I had sold a Citycom last year (red with Carter rear rack and backrest) to a lady who found it to be too heavy for her and only put 100 mi on it - so I traded her for my new (400mi) HD 200...

Ootscoot - great to hear. Your side of the world does not have the best of riding weather, but I wish you lots of happy Smile Your Miles on it. Hope the wrist is good again. I did a big 40 000km service on mine over the New Year holiday time. Valve clearances and checked everything as per service manual. Valve clearances I cant say if they were within specs as the eyes read the feeler gauges wrong and me set them wrong. Pays to double check. All else was still within specs, no oil leaks, engine dry as a bone. No coolant used in 38 000kms & no oil used between 2000km service intervals. They are good machines. Only thing I noticed was some of the plastic pillars that the panel screw screw into on the handle bars have broken, but that is probably due to our badly earthquake shattered roads. Our beautiful settled summer weather seems to be starting now so it's time for a long ride in the mountains.

You are looking for a shock!
If that swingarm that snapped off is part of the engine case, you need a new motor! Hopefully the tranmission just bolts off and you can get away with that.
Even then there is a good chance the frame is bent.
I'd remove the transmission and see if the motor will run w/o it.
Where is that oil coming from?
Frankly, if you were in the U.S. you would have to sell it in parts and buy a new bike.
You might be able to fit another motor/trans/swingarm from another bike....like a Citycom that was hit in the front.
please let us know!

Dear wr 125, The engine case, just broken the cover this parts I get free from Dafra ( OEM Manufacturer of SYM). And is not necessary change the motor, it is run perfect now. I just need buy the rear fork and the shocks. But the price of the original shocks in Brazil is very high, about U$180,00 each one. Thanks.

The shock is 37cm with the weight of the scoot on it and 38cm when it's on the center stand. That is measured from the center of the top bolt to the center of the bottom bolt. Hope this helps Kiwiscoot

Hello Kiwi,
Thanks for your information!!! I found one company that they made the special shock absorber to motorcycle, like used on Supercross and MX Cross, they will manufacture the special shocks for my weight, I believe with that special shock the Citycom can be stay more stable.

Good!! Once you have them and has tested them give us a report on them and the company's details for others to use. How are you getting on with the rebuild?

jpeg image hostingI noticed on my GTS300 (same engine) that the air intake starts as a rather abrupt hole at the end of the tube. This contrasts with the Joyride 200 which has a T shaped are intake. I'd suggest some extra power would be available by fitting a trumpet at the end of this - like you see in racing engines. The length may be tuned so you'd have to keep the length similar - but even rounding off the end of the plastic pipe walls may help, although you really want a nice plastic or metal trumpet: It will make the air intake louder but give more power! BTW that foam in front of the intake must be noise reduction, but could be upgraded too.

yes I would think that should make a difference. Citycom has a short flared tube like that under the aircleaner cover. Not nice and high like yours so it can get dirty. SYM must have learnt from their Citycom experience, not that it's a problem.

Hi there, My name is Rodrigo. I'm writing from Curitiba, Brazil (same city from bruelito). I've just bought my citycom... It'll take one month now on 29... It's been ridden for 860km so far. My first mods were to remove the air filter (I bought a K&N from Internet and I'll adapt it to original plate. Installed iridium spark, installed 18gr Dr Pulley sliders, but I'm waiting to arrive a 17gr set, as I drive in city only, and 0-100 is more important to me than keeping high speeds on roads. ah, I've cut a slice (3cm) from the foam on the seatrest, so that I could sit a little farer from the windshield, it got great! I've tryed to plot power and torque curves, using maximums that I have. I believe I'm cloe to reality img209.imageshack.us/img209/2292/citycom1.jpgIn time, I always liked performance engines. Any of you have ever wondered about turbocharging the Citycom? I've been thinikg a lot about it. If I move the gasoline tank to the space below the seat, I'd have enough space at the from to fit a very small turbo like this one: www.ebay.com/itm/MOTORCYCLE-QUAD-RHINO-Turbo-BIKE-SEADOO-Small-IHI-RHB31-/110695313833?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item19c5f471a9and even have some space for an intercooler. take a look at this Yamaha TMAX translate.google.com.br/translate?hl=pt-BR&sl=fr&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.okapi38.com%2Fokapi%2FEssais_Machines%2FT-max_Turbo.phpwww.youtube.com/watch?v=IJj7nEIbA-g

Pull away is a bit lazy compared to my other bike so I'd suggest a useful mod would be to fit stronger springs to the clutch to allow a bit more power on take off. It would generate more heat but should have a good effect.

It would generate more heat but should have a good effect. one next step shall be working on the clutch. by now, I just want a faster 0-100, not necessarily jumping ahead on the signal. With stock rollers, engine runs stable @ 6000 rpm from 20 to 80 km/h ... with 18gr Dr Pulley, it's running a little bit faster (around 6200-6300). considering my power curve, @ 6k, I have available somting like 20hp ...... lowering the weight, my idea is to reach almost 7k, to have more than 21hp available. But I'm a dumb, I shoud have bought the 16gr rollers, instead of 17's.... then, I could have 16gr, 17gr (3x16+3x18) and 18gr. let's see how it runs when it arrives. but I still am thinkg about turbocharging it.... damn evils around my mind ;D ;D ;D www.oct-net.ne.jp/~postpet/Bike/MAJE1.html
