Yeah. Mine's sitting on the truck less than three miles away, and there it will stay until Monday! I went to the terminal right after work. The manager isn't going to unload it until Moday. I had the pickup truck all ready to carry it home. I'm going to have to go and pick it up Monday, anyway. The only thing they have with a liftgate is 48'! Well, they're not getting that into my driveway and the traffic is much too busy to try to unload it in the street. I'll take Monday off and pick it up at 8:00 A.M. Meanwhile I'll sit here and think about it being only 3 miles away all weekend.

Now that is a HUGE tease. Waiting all that time, and it is 5 minutes away and nothing can be done all weekend. Damn, here's a bone for the frustration.

btw, the PDI was a pain in the butt to do in this heat... I need air conditioned garage... Anyway, it runs GREAT!!! Some video may be available soon, my wife used her cell phone, and we video taped each other riding it, as well as some pics of us on it.. It's nice... Rides great.. It actually has some nice pickup to it right out of the box, I expected it to be a bit doggy until it breaks in, so if this is any indication, it should be fairly spritely.. Haven't done much but a run around the parking lot, can't get a ticket that way.. hehe... benefits of having a pizza place behind your house...

One red 68B-150 sitting in the driveway here! I took some pics, but the new computer won't talk to the Canon digital rebel, so I'm scrounging for drivers etc. One small boo-boo from the crazy shipping container - they put a metal bar right against the right side of the bike, it rubbed all the paint off in a spot. I'll see if Mike can get me replacement parts or maybe throw me a few bucks. The seat on it is nicer than my MC54-250B, and this one has a full size cassette ( ) player on it. That'll be coming right out I'm sure! I'll try to get some pics up when I can. Mr Scooters came through for me as well.

According to MrScooters, my paperwork was sent out Monday but I don't have it yet. If it came from CA, which I'm sure it did, I would have gotten it by now. I'm thinking it wasn't sent out Monday like he said. I was hoping to register it this weekend, but I guess not.

LOL Jim... well, my friends daughter named it Bumble Bee last night after she saw it coming at her with the lights on.. all three of the front lights come on when its running, and it does have a mean look.. todays project if I'm not riding my big bike is to smooth out the carb, and get going on the Loctite.. Larger bolts are nice and tight, but smaller stuff like fenders and trim are nothing more than finger tight.. oh, you have any distant relation in White Salmon Wa?.. I play golf with a Dr. named Steve Koontz?..

yeah.. My brother actually did some geneology tracing a while bac, and it turns out that pretty much all the Koontz's and Kunz's and Koonts's, and Kuntz's are related.. The family came over from Europe and moved to Virginia, then they came across tothe Ohio Valley, They owned a bunch of land that coverd parts of Kentucky, West Virgina, and Ohio.. I still have part of the land, in Ohio, 62 acres in the RIo Grande Area.. But anyway, there was a huge family fued so to speak, and they split the land and many moved away, some changed the spelling of the name to some of the variations above.. SOme kept it the same.. But that is how they ot so spread out and so distant.. So tell Cousin Steve I said hi! BTW, many of our Early family settlers were Baptist Ministers... I though that was interesting.. There are some churches and such named after the Koontz Family in various parts of Virginia, Kentucky, WV, and Ohio.. JimK

I spoke with Mike today and he still doesnt have an estimate as to when his CC machine will be fixed. I would have gone ahead and send a MO a week ago, except I am out of town at the moment. I was hesitant at first but everyone else seems to be coming out OK, so I figure I will give it a shot... By the time his CC machine is fixed the riding season may be almost over....

naaa the avatar pic was taken at christmas, and the angle, you can't really see how long the hair is.. It has grown some since then, but I usually keep it kind of long.. Although I have been known to shave my head, even had a mohawk once.. I'm one of those "Changlings" I try to keep people guessing all the time... BTW, was riding the scoot a bit more today, Hope my papers come soon so I can really ride, but had it up to 40, felt nice, couldn't keep it there, but really felt like I had a lot left to go, at 40 it was barely over 2000rpm. I also noticed the temp gauge hovers right around 1/2 on mine.. It gets up slightly above half, and the fan kicks on, then after it drops to just below half it kicks off.. of course, like I said, I'm staying at such low speeds, it's basically like sitting still, so, it's not getting enough air flow, I will know more about how that works when I get the tags, then I can quite going in circles around the parking lot.. hehehehe... But at least I can ride it!

Gota agree with jimk about the PDI in this heat. I couldn't get the scooter on the porch, so ended up doing the PDI on the sidewalk. Shade tree only lasted 'til 11:30. Then baked in the sun for 4 hours. I drank 6 14oz bottles of water and don't remember stopping for a potty brake. CAUTION: do NOT attempt a PDI in the scorching heat, especially if you have a 3 and 6 yo running around stealing parts and loosing screws while u are not looking. (sigh!) Took all the plastic off. Got to all the electrical and fluid changes. Did not do the carb or fuel\vac lines (have the line and filter, just got tired and put it all back together so I could start her up). All is well so far. Only got to ride back and forth on my sidewalk so far. Still waiting on MCO to register. Did anyone who ordered a 54-250B notice the upgrades? The trunk has a gasket for the lid, and an extra flat piece of material that goes between the metal frame and the box. Should eliminate the drum corps that others have going while riding. I also noticed that the front tire came installed. The guts of the scooter wiring also looked super secured with lots of zip ties. Could not find a need for any extra. oh, and YES, GOT THE LINHAI. Note: Had trouble with the windshield install. The nuts would come right thru the mounting holes. I typed in "windshield" for the search and came to a thread with a cheap fix! Use #6x32x1" hollow\drywall anchors (zinc). Wish I was more savy with attaching threads and all. sorry. I just sent an e-mail to MrScooters about my MCO. Anybody missing their warranty registration card? Cant find mine. So far, still Happy!! Helmet arrived from www.Leatherup.com today. GREAT prices there. check it out. HAWK helmets are priced best.

yes, noticed the gasket and such.. I actually used the gasket they supplied inside the scooter, between the bolts and the bottom of the trunk, then laid the other pad on top of that, the rubber pads that go between the metal mount and the body if done right, wil actuallyelimate the vibration, add in the gasket that goes around the lid, and the double padding inside like I did, it is quiet as a mouse.. No vibration noise from the trunk at all.. Also, I had NO loose connections, as jerseyguy said, the wiring is very well dressed with zip ties, almost overkill on the zipties.. As for the windshield, if you aren't careful, they will pull through, you have to do it very slowly, and carefully, to make sure they tighten properly.. BTW, Here is a pic of my helmet:

All is good with my 54-250b. Yesterday afternoon I got the battery charged and went to start it up. After about 5-6 short tries it wouldn't start but I was smelling fuel. When I looked int he engine I saw fuel dribbling from a loose hose. lol
Hooked that hose up to the only fitting that was big enough and it started on the the 3rd try.
After that I checked over things and took it for a quick spin on some back roads. Then another..and another...lol. Now that it has about 45 miles on it it has already loosened up and gotten more pep. Had it up to 60 with ease. I love it.... Oil change coming up tomorrow...
I have a new workshop coming soon that I will have a/c in... I will wait until I can get it in the a/c to do my full PDI. These South Carolina summers are too hot and humid to do all that outside in august...lol.
Checking things out... The fuel hoses didn't look or feel too bad. I also noticed that the main fuel line had a spring around it, looks like a kink proof kind of thing. The trunk upgrades were also with my scoot.
So far so good. Mr Scooter rocks!

Yeah, I noticed the hoses didn't seem to bad on mine.. I half expected them to be so thin you could see through them.. But they aren't too bad... I was surprised.. My plate also says 244CC, but doesn't say Jonway on it... Mine was made by Unique Industrial and Trading Co. So, it appears that there is something to the JMstar/Jonway screwing up and sending non B's with B trim, and Unique sending real B's.. Also, base on what I am seeing in the posts, the ones made by JMStar dont seem to have the same quality control that Unique seems to have. Mine came pretty much perfectly assembled, the only real thing I found was an extra clip someone had dropped into the fender well, btw, they used those steel espressocare.com/Qstore/uploads/panelclip37900809.jpg [/img] clips, like that one.. except they are much nicer than that, and are coated in a nice green plasticoat.. All of the bolts were tightened nicely, and the wiring was well connected, the clips actually snapped apart and together with a nice "click" and seem to hold very tight.. I am very impressed with the overall build of this scoot.. I wasn't expecting much, and got WAY more than I expected.. And yes, MrScooters ROCKS!!! They came through VERY QUICKLY on the shipping, and was Very good at communicating with me.. And I appreciate them calling me to tell me about the Balis overheating issues, and the MC-68B-250 not being available yet... Only the 150's are.. Can't wait to see pics of yours Rob.. and hey Goblue, WHERE ARE YOUR PICS MAN? Cmon!!

The thing that confuses me about MRSCOOTERS is that they claim on their sight they have a B&M in Vegas. I live in Vegas and I work less than two miles from where they claim to have a store. I have driven by the location they listed and there is no store that I can see, and no sign that says scooters. I emailed them about where their B&M is three days ago, no reply.
Now I have no problem if they are just some people trying to make money by middlemaning drop ship transactions, which is what they seem to be. From what I read in the threads they seem no better or worse than anyone else at doing this, especially given the fact that of their volume and that most people who didn't have problems aren't on the board bitching about it and most angry posts seem to be people who don't understand the drop-ship proccess to begin with.
But why say you have a B&M if you don't. I would dearly love to see a dealer of Roketas in my town(VEGAS). My biggest issue in buying a scooter is not being able to really see what I'm buying up close before I commit. If they had a store I would probably buy from them, But as far as I can tell they don't.
So why lie about it.

OK. My first post after lurking and getting info I wanted to make a decent decision on whether to order a scooter from MrScooters.com. I found this site when I was doing a search on them and have found it to be informative. After going thru this thread, I started out being wary on whether to order, but as the thread grew, I decided to take a chance and order. I will say that they have been very good about emailing AND calling. I've called them and got answered and so far everything seems to be legit. Ordered my MC54-250B on 7/21 and went on vacation for five days. Got call on my cell from Mike two days later and he left VM for me to call. (I was out of cell phone coverage on vacation most of the time). He called back again two days later and we talked and he said that he wanted me to send Money Order vs Credit Card (well you all know the story). Was concerned and told him I'd talk to him when I got back figuring I'd investigate this credit card issue. This site convinced me that I should go ahead and send it. I sent it on last Wednesday, they received it and emailed me on Thursday night that they got money order and were processing my order and would ship in 7 days. I have to say everything has been going smoothly.
Now, to my NEW concerns. I continue to read this thread, and see concerns about JMStar and Jonway, I assume two different companies that assemble these things. Also about scoots being trimmed out as "B's", but being something else. Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me?
Thanks,
TheatreSteve

Hey Jim, when you see what a Goodyear hose looks like and feels like, you will think differently about OEM hoses. HUGE difference in quality. Try doing the PDI in Las Vegas heat, taking over 7 hours! When we got done, it was like I just took a shower. lol. Still no reg docs yet. I emailed MrScooters, still waiting on reply. Windsheild install pulled out the rubber, going to Home Depot today to get anchors.
I agree about electrical components, very well done. All of the connections had "snaps". Very securely fastened. The zip ties are nice, but overloaded. If you try pulling hoses through them, they break. Still only have 1 mile on mine, not many backroads in Vegas. Gotta wait patiently for reg docs. sigh...

it just seems like they arent going to get their cc machine fixed and just want MO cashiers checks. I will just keep waiting for them to fix it. I just dont have 1k to take that chance with either the mail or them. I found a place selling excatly what i ordered but im 8 hours away. If i can find a way to fit it in my van i might buy one here.

it just seems like they arent going to get their cc machine fixed and just want MO cashiers checks... More likely their account was canceled for too many complaints... When my machine stops working, and they have, several times, I simply call in the number on the phone, or maybe their phones stopped working too? Sounds like BS to me... -Rich
