I have been on vacation but here is the brief update. My scooter does not HAVE bearings, so I need the whole hub. Scootertronics WILL NOT order the part from Roketa, so I did... last Thursday (nine days ago...) So far, no shipping info on their site, I called yesterday and they (Goldenvale) said a week is "normal" and they are not sure they have the right color. I told them to ship any color, I don't CARE! I just want to get back on my scoot!
I'll keep you posted. If they send the right part it should be fixed soon after.
If not, well... I don't even want to think about it...

Hey Guys, Just a quick update - I have been working with Becca at AllNewSports - the lock that they were advertising did come in, however, I am still wiating on the cover. Becca got me a DHL shipping number this past Friday, so I know the cover is on the way, but I just wanted to let you know that this has been a transaction that has been months in the making - JiuJitsu and I ordered our scooters in late March '08 and received them early to middle April '08. It is now middle July '08 and I am just now getting to getting my cover - OUTSTANDING! The one thing that I am happy to say is that we finally went from "Customer No Service" (As Howard Clark would say) to "Customer Service" - so a BIG THANK YOU to Becca at AllNewSports! Also JiuJitsu: It looks like I will pass the 500 mile mark this week - I have calculated the break-even point for the price of the scooter vs. the gas savings from not using my truck to be 6,600 at gas being $4.00/gallon. Not bad! Yours, UrsaPolaris

Madmanjustice,
The wheel was wobbly so I took it to scootertronics, they are NOT who I bought it from, and they do not sell Roketa products.
I'll keep you posted, but I have tried to deal with Goldenvale before and it is hit or miss, at best.
I am praying I get a wheel I can use and get my bike back.

Hi Everyone, Spent a good deal of time last night getting to the headlight assembly so that I could get to the bulb - guess they don't carry those at Wal-Mart... I noticed yesterday on the way home that one of the headlights was out - going to finish replacing both of them this evening. WOW what a task - that was either brilliant construction or very poor design. I am not sure which as of yet. Still waiting on the cover... Yours, UrsaPolaris

Does anyone know the stock roller weight of this scoot? Thinking about an upgrade after she is broke in.

Well my wheel arrived today and the guy at scootertronics says it is the right one.
He says it might be ready tomorrow, Monday at the latest...
I hope tomorrow I will be a scooter-dude again!

Ok, I think I made a rookie mistake - please tell me if I just did something idiotic. When the high beams are on with the Roketa MC54-250, how many headlights should be beaming, 1 or 2? I get the feeling I just screwed up because I was too macho to ask my fellow dawgs what was going on... lesson learned the hard way... Thanks in advance either way! UrsaPolaris

Ok thanks Madmanjustice - that means I have an electrical issue of sorts - both lights are on when on low beam, however, only 1 is on when on high beam. I switched the port connectors for the headlights to make sure that it wasn't the bulbs and the same thing happened - only one of the bulbs (the other one from the one mentioned earlier) showed up as high beam... guess it is time to attempt to use that lifetime warranty... Thanks again for your help and a Dawg Bone to you!!! UrsaPolaris

so when you swiched the wire plugs, the problem moved to the other headlight?
should be a fairly easy wire to trace. If your low beam on that side is working you know your ground should be ok, so you need to see why you are not getting power to the high beam hot wire.
do you get both high beams when you use the passing lights button?

Yes, that is correct, when i switched the wires coming from the headlights to the alternative port, the issue moved to the alternative headlight. I thought that was a sweet little test! (I am currently a software tester and have been so for the last decade - I get my kicks finding new and inventive ways to test both software and other systems. As I get older, I see myself in the role of a "social engineer" more and more. ) The turn signals seem to function just fine with no impact on the high beam (as opposed to high beams). Thanks again, UrsaPolaris

I changed the thread title because I have had the scoot almost five months now. Still LOVE it, a lot... Have had a hose pop-off recently, no big deal, fixed it and re-attached myself with the help of some dawgs. It was this one by the carb, accessable under the seat: Scootertronics kept my scoot for a week and charged me $135.00 for "hose inspection and cleaning", but failed to reattach the problem hose and sent me off to find it and fix it myself... disappointing... I do not think I will go back there. They have made a lot of mistakes with me and my bike and have wasted a ridiculous amount of my ride time. I'll have to try someone else. I want to replace the clamp with something better, but it's hard to reach and I will just wait until winter and do them all, complete my PDI about 10,000 miles! heh heh.

Hello JiuJitsu: 10,000 miles, in a short time, even with the down time, that is a lot of scooting. Good luck on the next 10,000

I changed the thread title because I have had the scoot almost five months now. Still LOVE it, a lot... 5000 miles in 5 months, that's quite a bit of riding on a 250cc scooter.. that's about 33 miles a day... not counting the days that your scoot was down and out..

Alworld I currently have about 5,580, not 10,000... But I am optimistic!

I put over five hundred on it before I got my license. I failed the test the first time. I commute about 60 miles a day Monday through Friday when it runs..., I also drive it into Baltimore for JiuJitsu training 2-3 times a week as well. Actually, with the month I waited for the wheel repair, and the other week while scootertronics "inspected and cleaned hoses" it's more like 5,000 miles in under three months. Am I detecting a slight tone of skepticism fufu2wheel? I have to admit I am kind of jazzed by that if you are, 'cuz I'm serious man!!! I'll take a picture of the mileage and post it if you want, it'll be close to (or over) 5,600 by the time I get home tonite (in the rain).

I've got little over 3500 miles since April on my scooter and there are many people on usegroup alt.scooter who are very negative and skeptical about my trouble-free experience with Chinese scooter.

I took a couple photos when I got home, you can see the "EZ Pass" transponder so I don't have to pay cash at the toll booth when I go under the Baltimore Harbor: Here is a closer shot of my odometer today: I will pass 6,000 miles by next weekend if nothing goes wrong.

I might also mention that probably 75% or more of the mileage I have is WOT or nearly WOT... My commute is about 25 miles expressway with a mile or two of "normal" on each end of it. I am 65-70 mph 25 miles twice a day Mon-Fri... Had a bad rear wheel I should have tightened better before the splines were ruined and one hose popped off. Had to replace rear brake pads because of the wheel, and NEVERENDING loose bolts all around the exhaust assembly. Hard to say how much of that problem is also ultimately caused by the wheel problem... ALL of the trouble from the rear wheel could have been avoided if I knew more up front, and if I wasn't so pig-headed about admitting to myself that there was a problem... Wobbly rear wheel = fix immediately... Who knew? I expected much worse trouble. I still do... but I am getting the hang of it more and more. ;D Running great lately, I have a weekly routine now with tightening every bolt on the exhaust assembly from the header on back. Takes 5 minutes, working out pretty good...

Hey Jiu,
Why not put some blue Loctite on all the bolts around exhaust? It'll keep them nice and tight. That's what I did when I did PDI and never have come loose.
