Now I've got to solve the flying open issue. Any pointers? Try adjusting the "U" shaped latch either up or down just a little. I had the same issue with mine, that trick seemed to fix it.

Has anyone taken any longer rides on the Pegasus? I am considering purchasing one, but would on occasion have to take it a bit farther than normal... maybe in the 150mi range. Waddya think? Too much for a 150? I would be staying off the interstate.

It is actually fun to go that slow and enjoy the countryside.

Just ordered a 2008 Pegasus! Congrats, you'll love it! Thanks! I should get it sometime next week. Such a good deal... They have free shipping right now at the Qlink online store. I went with burgundy (it is kind of hilarious that two of the three color options are named after alcohol).

Though I guess there is a possibility that it is not available in your area... Either way, I'm pretty stoked about the price that I payed for a liquid cooled 150 with a two year warranty. Nothing out there that compares with that right now. Edit to add that the free shipping deal ends tomorrow.

Owned it 2 Months now, 813 miles, I am avging around 72 MPG at the moment. Running great. Today I got it on the interstate for the 1st time. Only about 1 mile down to the next exit. It got up to a hair below the 65 mark, I am a pretty big guy so that seemed good.
Monrings have been unusally cool here lately, looks like about at 65 degrees I will have to go to a warmer jacket for the morning ride.

Just picked up my Pegasus today! Very nice ride. Added about 14 miles to the eight that the dealer had put on. Everything runs great, good acceleration, my top speed was about 50mph. I'll try and take it up a bit higher on some open roads later on.

Read all 14 pages! wow what a great read! Thanks to everyone!! Especially DAWG!!
A couple questions. I am seriously considering the Pegasus 150, what is the difference between the 2008 and the 2009 model? The 2009 CFMOTO E-Charm is Fuel injected, is the 2009 Pegasus? Is that the difference the 2009 Pegasus is Fuel injected and the 2008 is not??
To those that have owned their Pegasus for over 6 months!! Are you still happy! Have you had any major problems?
Thanks again for everyones input!! You Guys ROCK!!

I don't believe that the 2009 is fuel injected. My 2008 is still going strong, with no real problems at all. Oh, and it now has 3400 miles on it. I love Peggy Sue.

I had some trouble with my 07' at first.(bad CDI) Took some effort on my part, but it's been fine for the ever since. There are some real horror stories about over heating with the 06s'
But the big question; would I buy another? Yes. I understand that the 08s' are ~$800 less then what I paid.
Don't know what the 09s' are going for, but if the only difference is fuel injection, I'd take the bargain. I don't know how long CFMoto been using fuel injection, but I tend to shy away from a first year change.
I think it's great for price. Are there better scoots - sure. Just get your bigger wallet out.

Why not send a PM to members "cookees" or "cfmoto" and find out. ...... Can't hurt. If you don't ask, then the answer's already "no".

Gary, That appears to be a black box on your Pegasus. Mine Peggy sue is the same color as your bike, but my top box is the same color as my bike. Is your an after market box, and have you done anything to enhance the performance of your Pegasus?

Hi Pugzila, The black carrier was from a 2 stroke scooter I once had. I just liked it better. Has a little wire attached inside to lock a helmet. I also liked the 2 tone color it achieved. I may go back to the one that came with it at a future date and mount the black one on the yellow Znen. Who knows. Put in an NGK plug, MRP coil, audible turn signal and bypassed the kill switches at the parking brake and side stand. I use my side stand when I get the mail. So that switch was a pain in the ass. Also the ground for the CDI is wired through these switches. Just another thing to go wrong or vibrate loose. That would drive you nuts if it where intermittent. I also use "Water Wetter" in the cooling system. There were so many threads about 06s' and some 07s' over heating, I gave it a try and still use it. In the summer here it's 95+ degrees. I can go for a 20 mile + ride and never have a problem. I'm always around the green area in the pic. I have noticed a slight stumble around 25 mph. It was real bad when it was new. Got better after 500 miles American. I've gone through the whole 9 yards with the carb., valve adj. etc. I'll take any help I can get and give it a try when I do my pre-season maintenance work in late Feb. or early March. I may need to re-jet, but you always hear horror stories about that too. Time will tell. How about yours. Gary S.

Sent QLINK a message, stating that I was out of town during the labor day promotion and would order but I cant get the laborday2009 coupon code to work. Told them that I would order right away if I could get Free Shipping. Received a response stating.
"I am sorry to inform you that our promotions are only good for the dates that they are listed. You being out of town is very unfortunate, however, we do not make exceptions. "
Oh well, they lost a sale, because I had my credit card in hand ready to order.
Now I am looking at the Honda Reflex, found a 2007 model with 3K miles for $2700. Any one have any experiences with the Honda Reflex?

Went for a ride today in heavy traffic (lots of idling) for about a half an hour each way, it was pretty hot out as well. No issues with over heating. Got a little above Gary's green area, but then cooled right down once the speed picked up. I could have sworn that I got stuck at every red light possible... Some of them twice!
On another note I'm at 225 miles and ready for an oil change. The dealer said to take it in to get it changed at about 300-500, but I'm thinking to do it myself right now. What kind of oil should I use at this point? Its a no go on the synthetic until over 1000 or so miles correct? Thanks in advance!
And by the way... Is the gas tank really two gallons?? Because today when I went to fill it up, the gauge was just about on E, and looking in the tank it seemed as though it was pretty close to being empty (though I could only see straight down). But, I only put in 1.15 gallons to fill it. Whats the deal? Could I (and the gas gauge) have missed an extra gallon in there?
Edit to add: it looks like I am slightly low on coolant... any recommendations?

OK. Lots of questions. 1) im14pinball, did you read my reply #408 ? 2) I can hit 60+ mph by myself. Her Znen can hit 50+ with 2 people (~320 lbs.) I'll bet my Peg could almost do 60 with 2 people. 3) What happened to the Honda?
Luighseach, 1) You're right. No syn. oil till 1000 miles American. (not km.) I always used Penzoil 10w40. 2) Make sure you will not kill the warranty if you change the oil yourself! 3) If your temp is good, 50/50 mix of water and coolent. You probably don't need any additives like I do. 4) The tank is 2 gal. The fuel gauges are terrible. I've never got around to messing with mine yet. I'll probably just bend the float rod inside the tank. A little hit or miss. 5) Wait till you do change the oil. What a poor design. The center stand is right in the way of the drain plug. You need to use the side stand, then remove the drain plug, then go to the center stand. I use the side drain plug most the time. The bottom drain plug every 4th. time.

I'll bet my Peg could almost do 60 with 2 people. 3) What happened to the Honda? Yep, received a PM from cookee, he left me a number and I called and got voicemail. Left my name and number for him to call me. The Honda is a 2007 Honda Reflex 250. Has 3400 miles on it. It is a bank repo. The guy buys them from the bank, turns it around fast and makes a few hundred. It has a couple minor scratches but that is what you get when you buy a used bike. Only downfall on it is that I have to drive 6 hours to get it. I feel that its worth it for a deal like that. Looked within 100 miles of Lex, KY and only found 1 bright yellow 2003 model with 7K miles for $2750. So the 2007 Silver Reflex is probably a deal I wont pass up. I feel the 250cc motor will provide the extra oomph I will need when riding 2 up. My biggest fear with the Pegasus was holding up traffic or people honking at me for being to slow up hills on my way to work. I shouldnt have to worry about that with the Honda. It really is too bad QLink didnt work with me at all on the shipping. Because I was seriously ready to order last night, had the item in the cart, filled out all the info, was about to order but it didnt accept the coupon. I received an email today from them saying they saw where I started an order but didnt finish. Hoping I would come back and order. Oh well... I think the Honda is probably a better made, more powerful scooter and an excellent buy for the money. Anyone know if there is a CARFAX type place for Motorcycles??

Well, I had a chat with the dealer today. He said that it would not void the warranty if I changed the oil, but that I really shouldn't do it yet, and that I should take it in around 500 miles so that they can change it and look over everything... He kept stating that the first oil change should be done by them. We'll see, I may just end up doing it now anyway. I don't think that I want to wait another 300 miles...

Was the oil changed when you got it or is it still China oil? (offering all the protection of Wesson cooking oil.) If it's not good oil in there now, I'd change it. If oil was changed before, you should alright.
I see you're in PA. If you store your scooter for the winter, make sure you change the oil when you get it out next season. I change the motor and gear oil first thing after storage. I've understand acids can build up in the oil when they too long.

The dealer said that it is what Qlink puts in for the break in period. So... China oil. I'm just about to change it.
I'm actually thinking to ride it during the winter, conditions allowing. I don't mind cold, just can't be riding in snow and ice. Any recommendations for getting it ready for that?
Update: Well, I went ahead and changed the oil. Kawasaki 10w40, non synthetic. And while this may just be me imagining things, it seems to be running better. Smoother acceleration and such. And it was running a bit cooler than before the oil change. I think that I made the right decision in changing it right away.
