Hi guys. Great forum, lots of good info. I'm strongly considering ordering the Pegasus 150 from Qlink's online store but I have a few concerns. If something goes wrong, how does the 2 year warranty work? I live in Maine nowhere near the distributor. Who repairs the bike and how? Also, after the warranty, will I be able to order parts? Thanks.

I'm actually thinking to ride it during the winter, conditions allowing. I don't mind cold, just can't be riding in snow and ice. Any recommendations for getting it ready for that? Yea, dress warm and be careful. Do you have a small battery trickle charger since we don't have a kick start?

So should I just assume the warranty is worthless?

I don't think the warranty is worthless at all. You really need to contact QLINK for some answers. I bought mine from a dealer 170 miles away with a one year warranty. Things have gotten better since then.
Two years ago, you couldn't buy directly from QLINK. But, the reviews where good so I laid down the money and took a chance. I had some trouble at first and had to do the repair myself. They did supply the the part.
I would not count on anybody shipping a whole scooter back and forth for free. If you don't think you can do some work yourself, you may want to buy something locally.

Thanks Gary. I'm not much of a mechanic myself and that's one of my concerns. As long as parts are available at a reasonable price and most small engine mechanics can work on these I'm not really that concerned about the warranty. I just don't want to buy one, have it die in 2 months and be out $1720. The reviews sound promising though and the price is right. I'm probably going to go ahead and order one soon enough. Hopefully the closeouts are still available when I do.

If I needed another scoot, I'd buy one for $1720 + shipping. I paid ~ $2650 delivered, and that was a good deal then. As long as CFMOTO is in business, I'm not worried about parts that are unique for the Pegasus. Other parts are always available.

Took my Pegasus for a 180 mile ride today! It was supposed to be shorter, but quite a few missed turns and confusing back roads made up for a bunch of miles... The Pegasus did great! The only time that it didn't do the best was on some major hill climbs (up to five miles of serious uphill over a couple of ridges), but even then it wasn't too bad. Had a top speed of about 40mph on the real big hills (bit loaded down with stuff too). Top speed on the flats was about 70mph. Impressive for a 150.

180 miles! Wish I could give you 2 bones for that, but here's your first one. Beautiful day for a ride. I was stuck inside. Maybe tomorrow. Were your cheeks getting sore or have they improved on the seat padding?

Yep. It was quite the trip... Back was pretty sore by the end, and I'm feeling pretty tired. The cheeks where fine, the padding seems pretty good. Though I am used to my super small road bike seat, so don't take me too seriously. But other than that it was great. The route itself had 60 turns! Thats not counting stops to look at the directions and wrong turns. Had everything from a 55mph highway to a gravel road in the middle of nowhere that crossed a pretty big (for PA) ridge. Well, its a good start to my five days off!

One more quick question. I'm about 175-185 pounds. What kind of top speed should I be expecting?

Well, I'm around 170 (depending on how much I ate for lunch). And even with a fair bit of luggage on the scooter I was able to hit 72mph. Though that was slightly downhill. I'd say on flat ground I can manage about 68 almost all the time... More or less depending on wind and any other variable factors. Uphill and things drop, slight uphills and I can be doing over 60 for short distances. But on any extended uphills or real steep stuff you will experience some loss of speed.

He said it was a CFMOTO. Sure looks like a Peg to me. I guess over heating was not an issue. The article was date 2008. I wonder what year to scoot was and what was the change in variator weights?

Congrats on the new scooter! ;D And +1 for hanging in on that pretty ride... my longest scooter ride so far is about 50 miles, when our first scooter was brand new. Gawd, my butt hurt!

Our longest ride was on a CF MOTO Fashion 250cc. We went to Daytona bike week from Long Island, N.Y. Then went onto the keys one mile marker. Scooter did awesome in rain, snow and hail. Up to 83mph on the 95! Going to biketoberfest in Oct in Daytona, taking scoot again!

... Is the gas tank really two gallons?? Because today when I went to fill it up, the gauge was just about on E, and looking in the tank it seemed as though it was pretty close to being empty (though I could only see straight down). But, I only put in 1.15 gallons to fill it. Whats the deal? Could I (and the gas gauge) have missed an extra gallon in there? Went for a 10 mile ride today then parked the scoot on level ground with the center stand down. Here's the fuel gauge reading and the real fuel level. How much is exactly left; no idea. Maybe just less then a gallon. I'll probably go another 35 - 40 miles American then check it again with my high tech measurin' stick. Gary S.

Is there storage room under the seat for the helmet or any other storage room besides the trunk?

Is there storage room under the seat for the helmet or any other storage room besides the trunk? You won't be able to fit a full face helmet under the seat, but yes, there is decent storage under it.

Is there storage room under the seat for the helmet or any other storage room besides the trunk? A half helmet fits fine, or a heavy leather jacket, gloves, etc., in case you plan to return home after sunset when it gets cooler.

Ok thanks, that works. I'm ordering a 2008 this week from Qlink's online store. On the site it indicates this message
*Registration and Title Fees not included and will be charged upon delivery if applicable
Is this usually the case? Are there any extra costs to expect at the time of delivery?

Also, according to the BMV, I will need to provide the manufacturers suggested retail price sticker (also known as the Monroney Label) or a copy of the sticker, and will also need the Green dealer's certificate (indicates sales tax was paid to dealer). Does Qlink provide this documentation upon delivery?

Other guys who've ordered from out of state may know more about this then me. Mine came from PA. to me in MD. I paid for the scooter and delivery only. At the time of delivery, I was given the title and bill of sale. Tags, taxes etc. was left to me to take care of.

Congrats! Your gonna love it! I spoke too soon. I keep getting this response after placing order We cannot complete your recent order, as we are unable to verify the billing information you provided. WTF? It's the same card and billing information I've been using for online purchases for 5 years and I've never had a problem. Oh well, I'll call them tomorrow. Edit: I ended up going with a Qlink Star 50. The laws in Maine regarding anything over 50cc are too much of a hassle to work around right now. No registration without insurance, no insurance without a motorcycle permit, no motorcycle permit without an 8 hour course, no 8 hour courses until Spring, no 8 hour courses within 50 miles, and all the restrictions that come with riding with permit only, mainly not being able to operate after dark. Hopefully I can coax over 40 out of the Star 50.

That's even worse than here in Oregon! But - you did the sensible thing. That is how I started out thinking before I bought the Peg (no MC license extension, no anything but hop on and ride). When I exchanged my CA license for an OR license two years ago I dropped my MC extension, thinking I would never need it again. Big mistake. I found out that in Oregon we have to buy insurance for mopeds as well, and any makes that do more than 30 mph (like the Vespa) also require a license extension! Well, I thought, that does it, and I might as well bite the bullet and do the whole thing again. But now I am happy that I did, cause I can again ride anything I please, which currently is my Burgie 400. I wouldn't even worry about that. Much more important is a comfortable cruising range without blowing the engine, and having fun around town!
