I bought two 2008 Pegasus 150's from that Columbus, GA, dealer about six weeks ago. Riding them here in central FL. Gas gauges failed on both of them and the flasher went out on one. They start easily and run fairly well, though a little rough now and then. Both run very warm, just below the transition to hot zone, but haven't actually overheated. Local service guy says not to exceed 40 mph until they have 600 miles (1000 km) on them. Also says the temp gauge reads hotter than actual temp, so not to worry. Will probably change the oil just for fun. Service guy has serviced 25-30 Pegs and it is his favorite bike, good support from Dallas, etc.

Bull, maybe the first 250 miles. It is actually much better to vary the speed at break in. You need both acceleration and de-acceleration to seat the rings. Some people drive them full throttle from the first day, and others do other things...get 10 scooter owners in a room and you will get 30 opinions on this topic... ;-}
The temperature gauges on Chinese scooters are a "guess" at best. Ignore them...
Use REAL oil until about 800 miles and then you can switch to the super slippery synthetics.
Also, if you want lots of people to comment on your posts, I suggest you post a new topic, rather than add on to a very long thread like this one...

2009 pegasus first impressions. i have 50 miles on my scoot..its simply too hot to ride.. i worry forthe scooter. this is my second chinese scooter... the first wasa 2007 tank 150 that ..... TANKED. im selling it for parts. so far.. i like what i see on the peg... fit and finish is reasonably good. seat hinge is a tad wobbly but i can live with that... instrumentation is nice and simple. gas gauge is ..well.. its chinese... i dont say that with a mean spirit.. they will improve i have no doubt... ride is pleasant... enjoyable... i thought i would want a windshield right away... its actually refreshing to me to have the wind in my face... even the hot air... that could change.i plan to save fuel costs on my downtown driving... no big plans to do touring.. unless i hook up with a scoot club here and do a few rides now and then. from what ive read... the utility of the peg is good and thats what i bought.

Under your seat in the cargo bucket, there should be a large silver tag that should give you the date of the manufacture. What does yours say? I bought mine in July 2007 but the date of manufacture on the tag is "2008 - 01".
