There is something really lovable about the Ruckus. It reminds me a little of the earlier Lambretta's. Mine is a 58 LI, so this Lambretta must be earlier. One of the guys has one in Quadrophenia. I always thought that the rear panels were off, but it's true, that there's no panels. I wonder if it makes sense to love a scooter. Because along comes another one and it's nice. Then here's another one and it's nice too. Who would have imagined a Velux would be made? What then is coming next down the road for us to love.

My friend, scooters are like women. It is possible to love more than one at a time. They are superior to women in that they don't get jealous if you do! My name is Sting, and I live on a lively street. (This is like being at a Lively Street Anonymous meeting). Lots of cars with high powered radios and bikes, mopeds, and some scooters go past all day long. Whatever I'm doing I always turn and look, and if it's stare worthy, I stare in the hopes of inciting a wheelie. Sometimes I know them and they stop in. So today a Burgman 650 turns into my drive. What a thrill to actually know a person with one. He gave me the guided tour. I've seen the trunk, the digital dash, the outside temperature gauge. I prefer my Velux, but hey, nice machine mister, and very nice street.

I rode alongside a Burgman the other day. He kept looking at my UM and wondered what it was. What it was, was a scooter. The Burgman is a motorcycle with a floor. Different strokes for different folks.

Gee I was looking forward to this moment; finally a place where I can feel like at home. To me it is important to be informed about these chinese scooters. I ride a United Motors Arrow 150cc that right now is dead due to bad battery. I will up and running at the end of the month once I get paid to get the new battery and get my scoot to the shop for some maintenance. I want to thank the big dawgs for this forum and hope to make some more cyber friends. I wish I was back stateside so I could join a group or club and hit the roads together. I know that I have many questions but I will do my research before posting. Thanks again for a great forum Scooterdad in Panama

Welcome scooterdad! The UM model you have is not available here in the States. Finding folks to ride with is always fun. Should you ever find yourself in Kansas City, give me a shout and I'll feed you a steak and give you a guided scooter tour of some cool places. The same goes for any ScootDawg member of the forum. It seems I always have an extra scoot or two in the garage. Offer does not include airport pickup or armed body guards. Taxes and fees may be extra. Dawg reserves the right to remain silent, but won't. Beer is free. Dawg has no spare bedrooms, so don't ask. If Dawg is in jail, offer is null and void.

The most common rattles in the rear section are caused by muffler baffles breaking loose in the muffler, loose exhaust fasteners, sloppy rollers in the variator and belt stretching and flapping in the cover. There are a couple GY6 manuals on my web site for downloading. Stan Ok here is my problem. I bought a Roketa bahama mc-07 150cc 4 stoke scooter. I'm new to the forum too. Bought an Avanti Upsilon 250 from scootertronics.com a few weeks ago and got the link from them when they sent me the information about getting my scooter up and running. I'm just breaking my scooter in now and hope to log many miles this year for both work and fun!

Just found the site! As a long time Harley rider, I had to get a little "better" sound out of my 150 Sunl. I removed the cover and drilled out the back of the muffler. After reassembly, it looks stock but sounds way better. No measurable performance change. I would like to get a little better performance. Sometimes I have to hit the freeway and a few more MPH to play with.

Been riding since a Cushman in 1948. Retired and got bored, needed a toy so bought a Yamati UC250. About the same as Tank, Viva and others. Been learning from folks here for a month or so. Great forum and polite folks. When it is 20 miles to the grocer you need something that operates cheaper than a V8 pickup. After replacing the fuel pump, battery and sparkplug it runs OK. Still tinkering with it. Found a muffler that will work, am going to see what develops.

Hello from Missouri. hi everyone, my name is Louie, i`m 54, retired due to an accident, former orthopedic surgical nurse, and YES i do like those nice looking pieces of engineering known as women. don`t let the tittle of nurse fool you, as a matter of fact, i`m married to one of those nice Italian pieces of engineering, and she is a nurse also, we used to work together. i just got my 1st scoot, and i`m learning how to ride it, it`s a 4 stroke, 150cc Tumopar, i got it from ebay, so the brand is not known. anyway, i`ll post some pictures latter, i just wanted to say hi. latter. Another newbie here from that place where when things happen they stay where they happen or something like that. Been riding the machine in my sig for six months now. Got over 6500 km on it already. So far only been stranded twice - one broken belt and one flooded carburetor. But at least I'm finally freed from the bus. What was a four or five hour daily ordeal is now about an hour and a half's worth of pleasant ride, even in 'Vegas traffic which is none too scooter friendly. We'll see how the machine and rider do in this summer's 110degF+ heat. Hopefully the pig will morph into some kind of junior dawg soon.
BTW, I paid for a password to download the scooter owner's manual and buyers' guide about a week ago but still haven't received the password. About how long does that usually take?

Hey Everyone! I've been keeping an eye on these forums for the last couple of months, debating on what scooter to buy after hearing about some pricey gas coming this summer. When I was a kid (about 20 years ago), I had a honda spree (49cc), and put 3000 miles on it before I sold it. I remember it as one of the best times of my childhood. So, I figured it was a good time to introduce the idea to my wife. At first, we agreed to a single bike (motorcycle), then it went from one thing to another till I found a much better solution - 2 for the price of one! Why not have fun with the one your with? Thanks to the resources on this great board and some site reviews, I went with Kymco. The final result was a People 250 and Bet & Win 250 (His and Hers). We both went to the dealer with the People 250 in mind, but it was a bit tall for her and she wasn't comfortable with the seat height (she's 5'8, I'm 6'2). She sat on a bet and win and it was a perfect match for her. Neither of us have a motorcycle license, but we've taken our written and waiting on the road test on the 30th. (Can't wait!) I was lucky enough to find a volunteer to come out and drive one of the scooters back from the dealer (75 miles away) and it was a perfect ride. Being in NJ, I need a licensed rider to ride along side when having only a permit. (which is ridiculous!) Both scoots were flawless for the entire trip and only used up 1/2 tank. Which is fantastic considering my blazer does about 15-18mpg. So right now, we're stuck only looking at our scoots in the driveway until license day. Anyway, thanks Dawg for having a great forum loaded with information and friendly faces!
