--My Experience with ATV Discounter I recently purchased my VOG 260 from ATVDiscounter.com The scoot arrived in great shape with no shipping damage. I changed out motor and gear oil + antifreeze before starting the engine the 1st time. --My very first ride, first mile, is when the trouble started. The problem was a very bad knocking & squealing sound in the front fork area. Very soon, I found the problem in my front end, It was the bearings, they were destroyed, and all chewed up, after only 50miles!! But the bearings were a minor problem compared to the crappy service I've received from the warranty/parts dept. I called ATVDiscounter with my findings and, the parts/service Mgr., Rob said he'll send the parts I needed to repair it, when i told him I’m not comfortable making this kind of repair, He advised me to send in the wheel. He said he was going to send me out a brand new wheel from the manufacturer with all new bearings and also a new speedometer gear in which the bearings had failed. Well, Rob received the wheel and said he’d never seen a 5 spoke alloy wheel like mine before and he found out it would take a long time to recieve a new wheel. Edit from here to end of postHe repaired my original wheel and I just got it back today (4/24) Everything runs smooth now, I even felt safe enough to go 65mph! I had previously only went up to 55mph. I love the way my vog handles now, and[glow=red,2,300] I'm very happy with my dealer's service, atvdiscounter.com.[/glow] This is pictures of one side of the wheel's bearings, the other side is in the same shape, as well as the bearings in the speedometer gear

Being a mechanic for years and replacing a lot of bearings, if the bearing fit in the wheel was not worn or scored there would be no problem with the wheel. I wouldnt be to concerned about them replacing the wheel if its not bad. After you are ridding again you will forget all about it and glad you have wind in your face again

You will be Ok, replacing the wheel bearings is not a problem. Like rusty stated, unless the wheel was damaged rewplacing the bearings will make it like new. Otherwise you have to wait for tme to order a new wheel from Asia and that could take months. Plus when they do send over a new wheel, it won't have bearings in it anyway, they;ll have to install new bearings as well.

I think what Bill is saying here is that he was lied to, and that's what's got him perturbed. They could have just as easily took a wheel off one in a crate and sent it to him and then THEY wait for the new one, or replace the bearing.
I personally wouldn't care either way, but if you tell me you're going to do one thing and then do another, I would be upset as well.
They have done this to me a few times, but I always get over it and think about the hundreds of web sellers that wouldn't do a thing about it! You know, those so-called dealers that spend hours with you on the phone to sell the scooter and then amazingly, when you have a problem, they never answer it again or return messages... damned caller ID!
The good news is ATVD does always come through eventually...

I can't tell from the pics, but where is the retainer? Maybe they left it off?

Oh, I forgot to post the reason the bearings failed. ATVDiscounter's Parts/service Mgr., Rob, said that the chinamen forgot to put in a "bearing spacer" he said it is a cylinder shaped tube that the axle bolt goes through, and it keeps the bearings from moving inwards when the axle bolt is tightened up. Just my dang luck.
I guess ATVDiscounter.com is a good dealer after all. I just don't like being lied too and its happened at least 3-4 times since i've first sent in my wheel. Here's one lie i found entertaining. Thursday I called to check on my wheel, and he said all the repairs were complete and they just needed to clean it up and give it a good shine. Then, Friday I called and he said he was still repairing it, This p!ssed me off! I was really looking forward to getting the tracking number friday and knowing all weekend that my wheel is on its way. I've had the scooter for 2 weeks now and have only got to ride the damn thing twice!!

Its been about 2 months and ATVDiscounter still hasn't sent me a MCO/Title, mostly my fault. But I called Nathan Barling today and he quickly granted me a new 30 day parts warranty for misc. parts that is good now, and re-begins the day I recieve my Title. The engine has a 1year warranty. ATVDiscounter is a very good company that stands behing their products. I've reccomended them to everyone that asks about my Vog 260 around town.

Why the heck would it be your fault if you didn't receive the MCO?

Why the heck would it be your fault if you didn't receive the MCO? Very, VERY good question! My own personal dealings with ATVD, their performance and ethics are somewhat less than stellar. I haven't recieved my scooters yet. (it's been almost a month) And I will say, when the pressure is on, they cannot deliver. They only take orders, collect money, THAT'S IT. In between, when convenient, they might try to ship a scooter to two. Good luck with the correct paper work, from what I've heard horror stories of people waiting weeks/months for MSOs. UHG!

Ok, here is my take on ATVD.
I had spoke with one of the salesmen, I will keep the names out of it, about the avail of a Vog 260. He told me and swore to me that they had them in stock, green and white only. I asked over and over if he was sure becuase no one else had them.
So the last thing he said to me was that if they did not have them he would gladly refund 100% of my purchase. So I bit and placed the order, now at this time I was thinking great, if there in stock i should have it in a couple weeks. Well wrong thought.
Time to move on, I then received my Tracking number after 3 days from initial order, hummm yes i will be getting it soon. Wrong again. Found out this tracking number is a pro number that means nothing until it gets picked up by the trucking company. Now I am getting a little concerned. Moving foward, I call shipping Dept like it says to do, i was told that yes the product is in stock and it will ship shortly as i was in line at the warehouse, again i think great its coming. Wrong! Next....now I am sending emails left and right because no updates to my tracking number, I finally got some response back after 4 days, and...... I was told by one of the owners (wont mention name) that yes in writing they have my Vog and it will ship soon and they will keep me posted. Now I am not feeling so great about. Now fast foward 3-1/2 weeks..... after a million emails and phone calls i finally had enough, i got ahold of billing dept and said I am cancelling my order, well of course she put me on hold and said she will look into it. Well i was on hold for over an hr! then she picked back up and had no answer but she was getting somwhere, again i think ok, maybe it will be ok. Wrong! I told her to call me back as I was at work and I did not want to tie up my lines, of course she agreed. Well never got a call back as normal. Fast foward same day that eve, I got a call from the salesmen, this is what he said:
Well I'm sure you heard the news already, I said NO, have not got anything from your business, he then says: well we do not have any VOGS! NOR CAN WE GET THEM.
OMG, then he wanted to put me in something else, I think you can guess what I said from that Point!
Now I am trying to get a full Refund from these Asx Hoxxs! Still nothing after 3 days of waiting, i will start making calls tomorrow if nothing happens, which something tells me i will b doing!
All I can say is: STAY AWAY, STAY VERY FAR AWAY. They lie they scam, and they will not give you any truthfull answer one bit!
Good Luck to anyone going or will be buying from these idiots!
