Ok guys, some of you know that I have been struggling to get a 30MM keihin PWK carb to work correctly. I stumbled upon this article and while its for a 2 stroke, the procedure was spot on for my gy6 and I finally have this thing working. scootrs.com/tech.cfm?tip=tunecarbthe carb came with a 40 low speed jet and a 138 main. I ended up with a 39 low speed and 132 main

Which size cylinder do you have? And the needle position?
I have a 155 cc cylinder and an 30 mm Oko (which is a clone of the Keihin 28 mm) and trying to find the right combination. The original jets are same as yours.

I'm surprised since I would think you would have to change out the needle jet(since it is a two-stroke carb., it would have an emulsion tube instead of the four-stroke carb.s nozzle). Oh well, stranger things hace happened. I got to think, for everything except full race, a CV carb would be better. Motomech in Costa Rica

Can someone post a photo showing (or describe) the location of the fuel mixture screw on the CF Moto 244cc engine? I can't find the thing.

Wow, that was a very in-depth article. For most people on this board who are running CV carbs I think a lot of that information may be overkill, but it's still cool from a general interest standpoint.

Yet, I don't see people posting about that here. Has anyone tuned with their needle setting? Any experience?

I've done the needle setting a few times. It has 5 settings, the top clip position is full lean, and the bottom clip position is full rich. I have not done the needle adjust on the CV, because right in the middle seems to be the sweet spot. I did the needle tuning on my flat slide carb, which is essential to the carb running good. Its also easier to needle tune since you don't have to mess with a vacuum diaphragm when using a flat slide.
If you really want to dig into the CV carb and fine tune it, you can try moving the needle clip position, but I don't think you will see much result unless you are running free flowing intake and exhaust.
