Hahaa...sorry,I forgot about that one..Well of course the power and torque is alot more than my 70cc race setup..top speed is between 55 and 60 but the motor only has about 30 miles on it,so who knows when its fully broken in.I plan on putting my MRP clutch and variator on tomorrow as well as kevlar belt. The rest of the engine upgrades will continue later on towards spring or shortly after tax time.

I took off the black cover on the tranny cover to do some tranny venting and found this: Evidently the people at Yamaha must have done their homework on this one.The yellow filter keeps the tranny dust free, and the rear exhaust port does an wonderful job of keeping the case cool as a ice cube. So at that point,I decided to put on the variator, clutch, torque spring, and kevlar belt. The variator was the wrong size,so I just threw the 5.5g rollers into the stockk vario. Man..major difference. The scoot is now a monster, even with the low compression head that came stock on it.Take off is nothing short of unreal,as some redneck in a ford f150 screamed out of the window after I busted him off the line.I cant wait to get some more upgrades, espically the 54mm cylinder and Koso pipe.

Just a tip, you may need a new flywheel. I found the taper on the crank was different on my setup. Rock on!

18,000 RPM that is wild. I haven't heard that kind of RPM since the Japanese used to race the three and four cyclinder 50cc racing bikes years ago. Way to go. You are the man.

Well fellow dogs...I have some bad news to share...On last saturday while at a skateboard contest,I fractured my left hip.I had to undergo surgery the next day, where they put in a 8" plate,5 screws, and 2 wires. So needless to say,im pretty damn bummed. However, the pronossis is not that bad.Ive been told that I will be back to 100% within 12 weeks...a long time none the less, but at least I still have my leg.Now the next thing I have to say is for my wife.I have to say that I have the best wife in the whole wide world. She has been on my side ever since this has happened.I honestly dont know what I would do without her.If any of you guys have someone that loves you unconditionally, you should cherish them with all of your heart.I also want to thank all of you dawgs too..You have been a really big inspiration for me in this project, and continue to be so...Dont think for one second that this will be the end on this project. As soon as I can limp out to the backyard,I will continue this.Again, thank all of you for all that you have done for me.Scootering is a very big part of my life, and will continue to be.Thanks, with all my love Ray Goff

Man, sorry to hear about that Ray!
I hope the recovery goes as well as possible and I'm looking forward to hearing about progress on the scoot once you're able to hobble out there to work on it.
How 'bout passing along a karma point to your wife from the scootdawgs!

Ray, take it easy and God bless. I just saw the news cause my wife had a hip replacement surgery on the 14th, and I've been taking care of her, which has been keeping me busy. I was getting used to checking your progress every now and then, but now the progress we want to hear about first is you recovering!

Update...Went to the doctor yesterday for a followup.Got the stapels taken out and got to see two really neat x-rays of my hip and the metal in it.Im going to get copies made so I can post them.Anyway, the prognosis is very good news.I only have 4 more weeks before I should be good to go.Seems that I happen to be the fastests hip surgery healer that they have ever seen before. For them its big firsts, for me its that much closer to getting back on the roadIve been tooling around in the backyard the past couple of days and movement is getting better.Next week I will start back with my project sleeper and get that crank and some porting done.I most definatly will post pics of this of course,no secrets here,I want everyone to see how it is all done.Stay tuned, and thanks for all the kind words and support.I come on here like 100,000 times a day,so im seeing all of your posts. Thanks again, with love.Ray(scootdawg for life!)
