Well I just read where slowcarguy swapped a 150cc into his 50cc.Well now,im swapping my 70cc bore motor for a 90cc 2stroke.I too like slowcarguy,am a avid import nut.So swapping is just the thing to do.Ill be doing a swap in my car next month.Once you get the fever, you will never go back.I will post pics of my swap from start to finish as I go along,so it will be like a soap opera for the forum!!

Well im on hold till next week.Turns out im going to need new motor mounts and a longer shock.I took the time to go ahead and order a 90 degree Polini intake filter to take care of my forward facing carb problem.Ialso had to order a longer shock because of different mounting locations,so I ordered a 13 incher. But those things will be here right after Christmas so then I can finish it up and be ready for the first ride on it.Im still trying to decide if I should break the motor in using the stock carb that came with it,or use my 21mm dell orto carb.Ill decide on that one by next week.I really hate taking that carb apart to get the cable out though. Well here is a few pics to do you over till I can finish next week. The first one is a mod of the swing arm motor mount.I repainted it to match the scoot and did some bushing upgrading. This along with the Traction bar, should make for some serious rock solid launches. The last two are just mockups with the engine in place checking for clearances.I even got her to turn over a couple of times using the electric start.Lovely sounds, just lovely!!!

Im one of the fortunate few people that I know of in the USA that actually has one of these.I purchased the motor from my good friends over at Indy Cycle Ranch(www.indycycleranch.com,site is down for rebuilding). They just happen to have one sitting in the back room that he ordered from Japan,it has never been fired up at all an is very brand new.I dont know of anyplace in America that you can get one.Hell I dont even know who sells scooter motor in the states. But I thank God for giving me the chance to have this sick ass motor.I cant wait to start the upgrade,as it will be like having a brand new scoot all over again.

Oops, it's a 2T engine so it oughta fly if you rebuild it with an 80 cc kit!

Oops is talking about your old motor, the one that's currently 70cc.... sounds like he's thinking about getting it from you and doing an 80cc kit on it. Maybe this is your chance to recoup a bit of what you're putting into that scooter rebuild.

I need something to learn on. I have absolutely no 2 stroke experience. I want to build a nasty 80cc 2 stroke on nitrous. I have the snaeky pete NOS kit already. Just need the engine.

Well ill have to get back to you on selling the old engine.I kinda had plans for another build on that motor for a different frame. But like I said, ill let you know one way or the other. Oops is talking about your old motor, the one that's currently 70cc.... sounds like he's thinking about getting it from you and doing an 80cc kit on it. Maybe this is your chance to recoup a bit of what you're putting into that scooter rebuild. Ok...the stock original 50cc motor, was built up with a 70cc kit,21mm carb, and other tranny goodies. That motor has been pulled out,and a 90cc LY 90 Yamaha motor and tranny will be replacing it.I already have a new MRP variator, rollers, and kevlar belt to add to it.Im going to do it like I did when the scoot had the first motor.I already have a MRP cdi and Bando High output coil in place, but a 54mm cylinder kit and 24mm carb,as well as a upgear is in the very near future.Im just going to break in the motor first.

Well after much anticipation..The swap is finished. It took a while to get all the little parts. But once I got them,it was on.Here are the last couple of pics from the swap. Now remember, this is a 100%stock motor. The only upgrade to it so far is the 21mm carb and Polini filter.I have a few other parts(variator, kevlar belt, clutch, torque spring, rollers already.I will be putting those on after the scoot breaks in.The only real mod to the motor was the intake manifold. The stock one faces forward, creating a clearance problem with the swingarm. So I just used the stock one from my Zip that is rear facing.
