Hello everyone, I was wanting to know is anyone has put bigger tires on there scooter or bigger rims. Right know I have 13 inch size rims with 130/60-13 tire. I want to put the size tire that the Suzuki Burgman 400 with 150/70-13. Can someone let me know if it will work. Also I heard with a larger tire you can get about 2 to 3 more mph. I have a jmstar 250cc honda reflex clone. ;D

Some may go up 10mm or a tire size in width if you have enough clearances . A wider tire will not make you faster and in some cases slow you down with the extra drag . Plenty of premium tires in the 130/60/13 size like Pirelli SL26

I went from 130/80-15 to 130/90-15 on my bike to get a metric cruiser tire for the longer wear without sacrificing grip. Looks to give me about 12,000 miles service instead of 6,000.
My choices are stock Sava MC28 130/80-15, Pirelli MT66 130/90-15 or Metzler Marathon 880 140/80-15. On my fuel injected 250 the larger tire trues up the speedometer and gives me about a 5 mph increase in top end speed.
As long as the current rim meets the width requirements of the bigger tire and they is room between the shocks, swingarms and to clear the engine case it will fit however on a limited tourque/hp bike with a carb you may not have enough power to run the larger tire and may end up loosing top speed as Scutta mentioned.
