Is there really any differences (to what we face now from Proboards) on the Jelsoft platform? Dot NET is on Jelsoft, I think. So it (archives) all goes there and somthing happens to Mike, are we in the same place all over again? Myself, I'll go whereever ProBoards is not. I've made copies of every word and diagrams that ever helped me, as I found them, so I'm ready for whatever.

The problem with the rental analogy is it does not address the users issues.although it makes the lee vs pro boards quite clear I think it's more like a cruise ship.the captain abandoned ship. It is now the cruise lines responsibility to get us a new captain and complete the cruise we signed up for, or reimburse us, but they have left us adrift.they have broken the agreement as well. Whatever happens in the future, I would agree with some others that we are better off leaving pro boards. We have known for quite some time that moderators without admin is problematic at best, might be best to just make the move to a new forum.yes we will lose thousands of posts, but let's be honest, most of the posts on the site are redundant or contain no useable info.scooters are not complicated, and all the relevant useful info could be recreated/replaced in a very short time. Frankly over the years this forums stickies have become a disorganized mess. Many don't even contain the info their titles lead you to believe.one of the reasons people just ask instead of searching, because the info should be simple to find but it is not. Why don't we take the opportunity to recreate this forum and fix the problems. it really could be made better.

To a degree I would agree with the abandon ship thing but since the captain did abandon ship the cruise liner owner has refused to allow him back on to correct his error and has made him walk the plank. He has posted and asked to right the ship but too little too late and the captain knew the rules of navigation when he signed on as captain. Do remember the captain had a right to pass the command over to a new captain instead of abandoning ship, that is clear in the ships manifest. Now the ship is adrift with just the sailors and no clear cut commander and no direction of where to steer. Question now is? Is it time for the crew to lower the life boats? JR

All of sudden I feel like singing
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, A tale of a fateful trip That started from this tropic port Aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailing man, The skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day For a three hour tour, a three hour tour.
The weather started getting rough, The tiny ship was tossed, If not for the courage of the fearless crew The minnow would be lost, the minnow would be lost.
The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle With Gilligan The Skipper too, The millionaire and his wife, The movie star The professor and Mary Ann, Here on Gilligans Isle.

A lot of comments are being tossed about. !) I tried to get Proboards to make me an admin here so that I could recruit staff, they decided to leave the place as it is. why? you would be the best one to do it. lee done sold out, his presence is irrelevant. you make it sound like scootdawg.com is going down. why is that? i'm positive proboards isn't giving you admin rights because of legal reasons. well, maybe that's what we should do. i probably will then again i might not. but maybe we can have something better, especially if we can lift some posts and threads from this site. it's really sad, i learned EVERYTHING i know about scooters from scootdawg.com. may she pass like a champ. do we hear a rebel yell ?

As far as copying information, I would copy whatever you have found useful just so you have it. Will this place evaporate, no.
The problem with keeping it "as is" would be that it has no way to be passed on to another management team in the future. Earl and I are the last active staff members. There are a couple others that may come back some day should they chose to.
I spoke with Earl this morning and he is content to keep things as they are and check in two or three times a week just to see if we have reported posts.I feel like there has got to be a better option myself.

Are you guys able to give lower admin abilities to other users? Maybe that could allow some of the common folks to help out in removing spam posts.

Darn! Looks like I missed a good brawl. Moderators is one of the big reasons why I stopped bothering with forums. I don't need any nannies looking over my shoulders.

SO, NOTHING here has or will change. It is "AS IS". No new admin and no new mods... NOTHING has changed. NO BIG DEAL. Seems like business as usual. Cool by me !!!! My last comment on this subject.. A mod can choose to leave. A mod can also pass thoes powers to others when leaving....... For years now this community has only had MR. MED and MR. EARL.... Again NOTHING has CHANGED. Unless someone no longer wants to be here, things will continue... Make your own conclusions. You speak much truth. From this side though there is a BIG change. No matter how useless Lee was, there was always a chance he would come back for a day or two and make a few needed changes, he had come back and appointed and removed Moderator powers even if it was two years between efforts on his part. There is no wait a little longer now and maybe he will do something now.
