I've got a 2011 GY6 Honda Clone 150CC. I have blindly bought and installed the following parts just to see if it fixes this dang thing. I bought a new petcock, CDI, ignition coil, spark plug and GY8 carburetor.
PROBLEM: it turns over but doesn't start.
It gets a Small spark when I tested the spark plug against the frame to see if it was getting spark.
After unplugging the hose from the tank to the carb I turned it over and gas came out so it IS getting gas to the carb. I suspect this means that the fuel filter and petcock are working fine. Needless to say there is obviously gas in the filter if there is gas coming out of the hose that goes into the carb.
Last night I took the carb out, took it apart and found that if it was big enough I could eat a meal off of it. All the jets were super clean and it was filled with gas. I shook the carb and let the gas all fall out.
When I put the carb back in the engine started for about 2 seconds and died. It wouldn't start after that (not starting as usual)
An hour later I tried to start it again and it started for a half second.
When I turn it over now it just floods and I can smell gas.
I've hired multiple people off craigslist to come and fix this thing with no luck. I really believe it's a small problem and hopefully not a piston because it IS getting compression.
It's got spark, compression and fuel to the carb. What the hell am I missing?

Take a look at the video in my signature for carb cleaning. I suspect it is the carb -- perhaps the plunger on the float valve is stuck. This is a very common problem and easy enough to fix. Your carb could look brand new and still have a stuck plunger.

If you have fuel, air and spark, it will start. Since it doesn't, I would suspect that your valves are closed and need an adjustment. Try this video. -Rich

Is the petcock vacuum controlled? If it is, it shouldn't come any fuel when you loosen the hose from the carb. That could be why your carb is flooding and causing your start problems... The spark should be white-blueish if it's right. And as said above, check the valves.
