No that's way to tight adding an extra zero---the video is correct, somewhat. .0019(or .002 and/or approx .05mm) is correct, but on the tight side of the teeter totter. Anywhere from .002in-.004in should be good for a 50cc Chinese scooter. .00019in isn't even in my feeler gauges set. I think you misread. On a side note, I love how the kids shoes are on the wrong feet.

Hate to be a know it all but I think his shoes was on the wrong feet too,not just the kids.At least for me it is way more simple to bring motor to TDC with big hole on cam at 90 degrees and the 2 little marks at 180,then you can adjust both valves at the same time,,,,as for measurement I don`t wanna go there but I set all my at a snug 3 thou for the intake and a tight 4 thou for the exhaust works everytime for me . And I would NEVER use a cresent wrench good way to round off nut and bust your knuckles. Hope that helps

Yes, it is simpler to do it the way this forum's "valve adjustment guide" says to. But in reality, it's only simpler by a couple(or 4 or 5 or 6...) of engine turns. I actually watched that video posted above, about 3 and a 1/2 years ago---it was my first valve adjustment. It did work and I followed it(with different clearances though), but it really is easier the TDC way as S.B.H mentioned---if anyone new here was wondering. I don't remember all these, out of all the scooter forums, valve adjustment guides being around back then. It was one of the first ones I saw(the video), but I've only been riding a scooter for about 3 1/2 years. This is for the 50cc 139qmb engine: scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=4strokeissues&action=display&thread=21446

Sorry but .0019 is only .048mm .00010 " = 0.00254 mm and we are looking for .004mm and .005mm which you need to add another zero .00019 " = 0.004826 mm And I do it the easy way as well bring the piston up to TDC lineing up the two little holes which by te way have a line under each of the small holes to line up with the top of the head and the bigger hole straight up and then you can adjust both Valves without haveing to turn the engine over to compress the other valve. Lefty Here is the other way to adjust them at TDC.

At the 1:35 mark in the video just above he clearly states 3 thousandths of an inch.
3 thousandths of an inch is written: .003, not .0003. It's different on the other side of the decimal.
.0003 is written: 3 ten-thousandths of an inch---which is way too tight.

The Turkeys that are doing this can only work with their hands and are not paying attention to what they are saying. You can set your Valves using a Feeler Gauge that is marked .003 or .004 for the Top Intake Valve and a Feeler Gauge that is marked .004 or .005 for the Bottom Exhasut Valve.
The post is just to show the folks that have never done this How to set up and Position the Cam Sprocket to be able to adjust both Valves at the same time withoug haveing to turn the engine over. Lefty
