Can mystery marvel oil be used in the gear box -"GEAR OIL" ?

I used 85/90 wt gear lube....which is made for gearboxes and car manual transmissions...will work on a scooter....I have 8600 miles on my scoot using gear lube not motoroil or marvel mystery oil....have changed it one time...enjoy your scoot...
