Mystery Marvel Oil (MMO) has been around a long time. I know it is used in both the gas and the motor oil. BUT... Can MMO be added to the transmission "Gear Oil"

Hi You could but i see no benefits in doing so Marvel was designed and formulated as a blend of chemicals and petroleum products to clean and maintain clogged jets due to high lead content and other contaminants found in the gasoline of the time. as an added bonus it proved to have other beneficial effects on the engine. By creating a top ring seal, it produced higher compression and, by preventing blow-by on power strokes, it resulted in more power. Mystery Oil also improved gas mileage and minimized engine wear. So for an engine i can see the benefits for your rear gears i do not I would just use a high quality gear oil For me its Royal Purple Take care and ride safely Yours Hank

Never tried it in gear oil but it works great in the engine oil and gas . I would get GL5 Mobil1 or BelRay Gear Saver 80w90

It's great stuff to fix a soft-seized motor but for gearboxes...no way, use your #90 weight oil and be happier.

Thanks for the input guys. I will be looking at both the Royal Purple and the BelRay Gear Saver 80w90 because they are new to me.

When it comes to oils just use almost any premium brand and change it BEFORE it gets nasty

You can use it to clean or flush out the gear box without damaging the seals and we use to add it to single grade gear lube to thin it out for winter temperatures. Kerosene was also used in years gone by to thin out gear lube and flush engines.
