I'm glad you got your clutch... now get that thang on the road!
I'd be jonesin if my scoot had been down that long!.... BTW do you know where the term "It's a Doozy" came from?
No idea where the term was coined or why. Everyone calls me a hippy because i use grandma lingo in normal day conversation
However TADA!
Today was the day that i got on my newly fixed scooter and went for a ride around the block she runs great.... now here is what happened.... sigh long story
So i get the clutch and im using impacts air and cordless to try and take the nut off to remove the bell housing to replace the clutch.... uugh i soon took a much closer look to find that the temperature treated nut got too hot and melted to the bell housing we ended up chiseling the nut and replacing it luckily it didnt melt to the spindle!!!
so we get it off and i take off the clutch and man was that thing cooked i knew it would be but it was just super duper surprising! i will post a pic here soon
Replaced the clutch replaced the belt it was pretty burnt up i charged up the battery and was like okay its my day today right?
yea that did not work out after the long charge i install everything back to where it goes and i go to turn her on and i got nothing
the battery died.... bad cell... no problem!
go down to autozone i buy the agm ready to rock and roll battery i dont wanna deal with the acid and seeing as my s/o works for autozone i get a discount anyways why not!
bring it home reinstall the new battery got to turn her on and i got something but no crank....
lights worked horn worked blinkers.. everything but the start..
i slump down all flustered because im a goober and got my hopes up thinking it was gonna be easy well its never easy....
so im looking and taking stuff apart and i find nothing i see nothing crazy with the wiring... im an idiot and didnt take time to test it with my DMM.
So i started my own business in the mix of this as well....
so a day or two before valentines day i call a local shop that i bought some parts from and im like look can you guys come fix this thing im pulling my hair out i dont know what to do i cant get it to you can you tow it.
So here comes Moxie Scooters from DFW to save the day they get her up there and they are working on her find a short in the ground and some busted intake hoses (i didnt take off all her clothes because its a pain so i didnt see said hoses dont yell at me) and the carb was clogged up and needed some adjusting.
so they fix all that i have them inspect her as it was out and we brought her home today!
its a little chilly so i got a bit cold taking her around the block. but i really enjoyed it and i want to thank you guys even though i have been absent thanks for encouraging me and cheering me on makes a world of difference to have people that stand behind you!
I will send some photos of places i go if there is anyone in the dfw area that wants to get together when it warms up lemme know!
P.S. Sorry for the long wait when it rains it pours and the weather has been up and down so of course when i got a free chance to try and work on her the weather would either be rainy or too cold to mess with.
