The other day I realized my brake lights were on all the time. Upon an investigation of the problem I found that the switches were fine, but they were not seating deep enough into the socket to allow the brake lever to activate the switch unless pushed into the socket. I found that I could use a cable time to keep them in place, but I was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue? I did try using a spare switch I had sitting around to see if this one did the same thing, and it did, so apparently this issue may be present on lots of bikes.

I had that problem and discovered that there was too much play in the brake handle. I tightened the pivot screw just a touch and have had no trouble since.

I replaced one of mine and when seated-to-click it was in TOO far and would never light up. I had to wrap it with electrical tape and cram it in to just the right depth to work properly. Chinese replacements for Chinese parts... I also replaced two switches that had broken snap-in tabs... the new $5 replacements stayed in for about a week until they broke and popped out... just like the ones I replaced... lol
