Hello, Im sorry for posting this in the 250cc area, as my scooter is 150cc but for some reason when I click on the 125cc and up section it says im no longer logged in.
ok I seem to have a oil leaking prob now, I took bike out on highway and did 40 to 45 mph on it, noticed that its leaking oil from the area of the oil dip stick, is this where the valve cover is?
I checked and Im seeing drips coming from where the black cover is thats covering that fan, so im thking its the valve cover but not sure. Im not sure what the prob is, I hope its just loose bolts but not sure until I start messing around the area.
It didnt do this when I was riding around town at speeds of 25-30 I was about 16 miles from town and noticed that there was oil all over the muffler so I turned back after seeing oil driping. I had pulled over to check my phone and that how I noticed it.
thanks

U should take off the black plastic fan housing and wipe the motor clean best you can and run if for couple mins. and look for the leak. Also did your dipstick ever have an O-ring if so it might have got lost during maintenance.

dipstick still has oring on it, is this the valve cover under that fan? man im hoping that I didnt blow a gasket , but compression im guessing is good cause I road it home.
I didnt check all the bolts on the engine but those bolts are in a tight area. I guess I will now , I will have to wait til tommorow to take all that apart.
um if that is where the valves are at I might as well check them out by checking the valve clearance.
Im thking it has to be that area, where all does this oil go to that it may leak from?
thanks for all your help

Check the hose from the valve cover , it is a vent . If the hose is conked or blocked it will cause all kinds of problems . It goes fom he valve cover to the air box . Pull it from the valve cover and blow into it it should free flow .

Ok i will check that out, well like i said i hope that nothing bad is wrong. From what i can tell it wasnt leaking oil till i started going 40 mph and higher.
Going to take the fan cover and stuff off tommorow as its getting dark here now, i hope its something simple.
I checked the floor a little earler to see if it coming out while motor is cool and nothing.

Take off the seat bucket and examine from the top. You'll see the valve cover on the front of the engine, and the hose will be apparent.

Ok got it all taken apart, even took the top part of that plastic box around the piston area off to view all the area. I did notice that oild was gathering around the oil drain plug and the bolt in the pic, but im thking it was traveling down to the plug as the drain plug is on tight enough. I did go through the bolts around the fan area and tighten them up. after I did that I havnt really noticed any oil gathering anymore, but im going to inspect it tommorow also, reving up engine. as far as those hose you guys said to inspect I only see 2 of them one small on the top and one on the bottom that looks to be a 1 inch hose. I did take both off and made sure they wasnt pluged. im still not sure if I fixed the leak by tighting up the bolts though. I did see that I had to much oil in , so I took some out not sure if thats why its not leaking though. Now im just wondering if I should dump the oil and take all those bolts out and put red loctite on them. heres some pics, if yall would like more pics let me know :

well I cant find the leak, Im thking off calling the company I bought it from, I believe its coming from the casing where the fan is located.
at first I thought that was where the valves where at, but it isnt. does anybody else have any idea of what it could be.
im starting to worry that something worse is wrong, since I cant find the source of the leak, but I still maybe over looking it. I wish there was one of you guys that lived over by me that could help with this errrr.
Im hoping I didnt buy a lemon, but it rides real good and the only thing I can see thats wrong is this dang oil leak.
its not using or burning any its just leaking from the crank case or where ever area this is called. also can someone elaborate on what that area is called in the photos, is this the crankcase?
thanks guys

OK I thk I have figured out the prob, with the leaking. It wasnt the engine oil, it was the gear oil. I had way to much gear oil in it. I took off the filler screw with it on the center stand and it just started gushing out, I would say at least 8oz or more over filled.
so now Im checking the area now to make sure that, that was the leaking prob, and not something else. I just hope that I didnt damage any seals with it that full.
Thank the Lord that I figured out that I had put to much in.
Peace
