Im looking for a scooter with 16" wheels. Found a 300cc one made by Xing Yue. Looks like they may not import this model into US yet. Th model is XY300T-5. All their models start with the letters XY. Can anyone shed some light on this company/model?

As far as I know there are four Xinyue models floating around, and unfortunately the one you are referring to is not one of them. Xingyue makes the Vog 260 (also known as the BMS TBX 260), the Vog 300 (same model with a bigger engine), the last generation BMS Pathfinder (don't know about the remodel) and the Vogue (now imported as the automoto). They seem to be one of the better manufacturers.

Richard - I don't think that is it. The one he's referencing looks more like the Pathfinder and has the 16" wheels. The Vog looking one is the T-4, and he's asking about the T-5.

We have two of their 50cc scooters and are quite pleased with them so far - fit and finish seems above average as does the mechanical assembly. ...we shall see.

16" wheel 300cc sounds great. I have an air cooled 16" wheel that looks like the pathfinder, some pannels different (longbo prodigy) .

There is no supercharger. I was talking to a dealer and saw one that said supercharged on it. I asked and he just shrugged his shoulders.

I have the xy260t. Right around 4000 miles I had a couple things go a little wonky. Nothing that I was not able to fix (with a little help from the dawgs here). Now I am up to almost 6k on her. She runs like a champ.

I bet a scoot with 16" wheels and 300cc motor would go pretty ---F-A-S-T-->> I own a Xyingue Vog 260 and it has 4700 miles or k/m on it. I couldn't find an intake manifold for it so it sat up for a WHILE got it running again today. I find it to be a way better scooter than my 1st one, a Bali 150.

actually, If a 13" wheeled bike can go 81,5MPH, a 16" wheeled bike would theoretically go 100,5 MPH, at the same RPMs.
Just 20MPH faster for 3" increase in wheel diameter; or: Increase the wheel diameter by xx%, and the speed increases by the same percentage.
If my bike with 13" wheels would go 60MPH, and I want it to go a 100, I'd have to increase the tire diameter to 21,6" (provided, if the motor had enough power to compensate for the increase in drag, and lower torque).

Looks like they finally got EPA and DOT approval: en.xingyue.com/xynew/html/product/300cc-racing-scooter.htmlSpecs are a little short for a fuel injected 295cc bike at only 21 hp while my 250cc Aprila puts out about 24 hp. Price would be the deciding factor for me. As these bikes approach the $2,999 price point at which you can get an Aprilia Sport City 250cc on their factory special and are still available at that price I would be inclined to go with the Aprilia. The Aprilia rides on 15 inch wheels but went with a 80 series tire in the back to give it the same OD as a 70 series 16 inch tire but with a smoother ride with a lesser chance of rim damage from roadway hazards. Looks good in the pictures but only time will tell how this new water cooled engine will work out.
