I have a 2010 Benelli 49X, been riding for 3 seasons and i just love scootering and riding in general. I hope to learn a few tips and tricks from you guys here. I currently have a leak issue with my scoot, actually i have 2 leaks...first one is coming from the bottom of the fan blade thingy(i don't know the exact name for this) and the second leak is from the the bottom of the engine cover. I have a prima 70cc bbk and i believe 4.5 grams rollers and a prima exhaust done at around 5000kms. The leaks started happening about 1 month ago and also the scooter is really slow at acceleration like almost not moving but when i pass the 50kph mark it goes really really fast. Am i due for a drive belt replacement because I'm still on oem? I'm gonna try to see if i can tackle this issues myself, I'm hoping to get some assistance from you guys if that's ok. The 49X has about 7400kms and still gets ridden every other day from home to work. Here are some pics Here's what my 49X look like and here are the leaks pics the leak is from the left side, bottom of the fan blade, you'll see a dot on the alloy part of the engine this one you can see the leak right in front also the exhaust spits out oil directly from the the inlet and out on the exhaust tube...see the golden colour on the exhaust? oil deposits on the tip of the exhaust

Just got back from celebrating our anniversary in your fair city. Had a blast. Great food, scooters galore, and some super-friendly people.

Nice looking scooter. I'm thinking your concerns about the oil leaks would be overlooked in the introduction threads section. Being a two stroke your oil comes from your automatic oilier, your bike is equipped with one, or from the fuel if you premix it. Thankfully you supplied pictures and it seems your oil is concentrated at the engine. There is a possibility the oil is leaking out of the hose that your auto oilier would send oil down from the under-seat tank to the engine with. If you are serious about locating this leak I suggest that you remove the plastic black cover from around the engine and determine the source. If the oil is just too prolific to figure out where it is coming from then you will need to wash all the old oil off and start with a fresh clean bike. Do not work on your bike while it is hot, do not wash the bike off when it is hot, you may need to loosen your exhaust and move it to the side to properly remove the plastic cooling cover but the pictures you supplied make it seem like that is not needed. From all the oil I see in your exhaust I'd almost venture a guess that your Benelli is still restricted. If it's reaching 72Kph then this is not the case. Brake cleaner does a great job of removing oils, but it's expensive and flammable and the fumes are bad for you to breathe. I'm sure you can think of a way to wash that oil off if you need too.
