Hey all!
I am a nOOb to scootin.. Just slapped a Peace Renegade 50 on layaway from GreenEarth scootz! Totaally stoked! Cant wait to get her paid off in August! Just got a job after being unemployed for almost 2 years. The job is like a half mile from my apartment, so I decided to look into gettin' a small scoot for round town jaunts.
I have heard some not so good stuff about made in China scooters and their iffy-hit or miss quality and longevity. I have also read some decent reviews on the Peace Sports branded bikes, so I decided to take a chance. $679 shipped, I figgered I couldn't go too wrong.
Anyway, I live in Wisconsin and plan to scoot as long as the winter will hold off. If last year is any indication at all.. I could probably ride all freegin' year!
Can't wait! Looking forward to gleaning all the info I can from you seasoned pros.

Hello and Welcome to the pound pearlygates, My scoot also came from Green Earth, and not that long ago i was in the same position, Unemployed needing a job and transportation... Now I'm employed and being a positive member of our society again..
Just do your PDI well, don't cut any corners, change the oils gear and motor, change the spark plug and rubber lines with good quality ones, and I would do a valve adjustment. If you have any problems there are many here to help you.. Hope all goes well and congratulation on your job and new scoot... Drive safely ;D

Thanks guys.. I don't have much small engine experience, but I have watched a few PDI videos. Doesnt look like anything to difficult. I do know my way around a wrench. Valve adjustment?? Not so much. It can't be anything too difficult tho... right? Anyway, I am turning 50 this September and may be a tad late to the scootdawg pound. Oh well.. better late than never..right? Thanks guys and gals!

Hi and welcome.
If you take good care of your china made scooter, you'll have no problem at all. No worry about your age also. I just turned 47. =D

Hi and welcome. If you take good care of your china made scooter, you'll have no problem at all. No worry about your age also. I just turned 47. =D Haha thanks for the age comment. I do plan to perform regular routine maintenance for my new scoot. That to me, is part of the fun of owning one. The one thing that I have heard mentioned on more than one site is adjusting valves after the break in period. Being as frugal as I am .. I will no doubt want to tackle this by my lonesome. I have a ton to learn regarding these little bikes and it seems that I have arrived at the right place.!
