Hi! I've only been riding a 50cc scooter (my first) for a few months now. What a blessing it is to find a forum about my new love. We lost our car about 8 months ago due to sever transmission problems. Instead of buying a new car, we resorted to using buses, taxis, and rides from friends. Can I tell you how much I love being independent again?! Being able to jump up and go at will? (Or twist and go ;D ) I live with my husband and two daughters. The only ones who have ridden it so far are me and one of my daughters. We ride it back and forth to work, to the store, wherever. My husband works at home on the computer (He is a medical transcriptionist) and the other daughter is unemployed at the moment. We are considering buying another scooter so that she and I will each have our own and not put so much weight on the scooter. (see my previous post "Max weigh limit?") We have fairly mild winters here so I think I could ride it year round. If the weather is foul for a bit, I could always go back to taking the bus.

Welcome! I live on the other side of the lakes from you guys, and am in Paducah at least once a month! I don't know about riding in the winter here, though.. From about December to March it gets wayyyy cold for riding.

I've been told that it's possible to ride in the winter if I bundle up with thermals, hunting clothes, woolen face mask, etc. but of course since I haven't actually tried it, I don't know. Maybe I should get extravagant and have a seat warmer installed.

howdy and welcome to the forum. i suspect the electrical system too weak on a 50cc to handle the seat warmer. but, bundle up and ride as long as the road is not slick from frost-- lotsa miles and smiles to ya

Hey there fellow new person! the entirety of my family comes from Kentucky. Do you know any Cummings'? If so, I swear I'm not related to them in the slightest, in the sense that I am related to them. If you do know them, you'll know nonsense is a requisite for relation in our family!
