um... Not sure what red one you are talking about but I'd love to see it lol. Mine will be red shortly... I'll post some pics maybe a vid or something. but I recently got this thing and if i'm honest like my friend said I've caught the bug. I CANNOT believe how cheap, easy, cheap, fun, cheap, awesome and cheap it is to hook these things up. I always used to cringe at the thought of riding one until my friend pat let me ride his (50cc Jonway) and that was it, I was hooked. I bought this one nearly brand new for like 700 bucks on craigslist and wowzers have I had alot of fun.

Don't worry, it only takes a surprisingly low number of posts to be a big dawg, lol I CANNOT believe how cheap, easy, cheap, fun, cheap, awesome and cheap it is to hook these things up. I haven't done a damn thing to my car since last season ;D except what it needs of course... I got the bug too.

as far as all the bolts are concerned... eh... im learning the hard way. the upper exhaust mount bolt stripped itself and i could not replace it. since then the bike has vibrated a large crack in its own exhaust manifold. im a little pissed about it but it just gives me ever more reason to upgrade now. so I think i'll just get the red Uni double filter, re-jet the carb, and maybe, just maybe some yoshimura stuff on the back that would kick a$$ wouldnt it? i dunno. just getting started with this stuff so lemme know if im being stupid lol. No m/c experience before this one and i gotta say its pretty awesome. specially in charlotte with the weather starting to hit. and about helmets, i picked up this decent Harley Davidson (probably made in the same city as my bike, but oh well) system II helmet. full face all the way! and one more thing!!! I have an HID kit that was gonna go in my car... but i dont want it in my car i'd like some on my bike though they are 12v 34w i think... will these work? ill just find the right thread for that question.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new scoot. There's some good info here on HIDs. If you are already running 35w headllights then the conversion is not that difficult. I've had no charging or heat problems since my install two months ago. The light output/visibility is great and they add a nice look to the scoot day and night.

Whats crazy is I can be speeding and goobers in cars insist they have to pass me . I understand if I was creeping up a hill . I laugh when I am at a redlight and cars line up in the other lane as to avoid getting behind me and I jack rabbit away and outrun everyone lol . When I am going down the road and someone tries to pass me I speed up and see how fast they really want to go as I can hit 75 mph on my Echarm and even just over 60 up a large hill with a passenger . First thing you should change the oil in the engine and gear oil since most newbies neglect and it may have crappy shipping oil . The engine most use 10w40 I use Castrol Synblend and Castrol Syntec in my gears since mine uses 10w40 in there too . Now yours like most uses GL5 which is 80w90 gear lube and I use Mobil 1 synthetic on my other scooters . Get a NGK iridium spark plug as they are the best and fire real good . The fuel lines and vacuum tubes should be replaced with automotive fuel line 3/16 diameter from any auto parts store . Peace are known to have the valves not properly set from the factory and all 4T scooters will need adjusted around 2,000 miles or when it gets hard to start . The valves out of adjustment frustrate most shade tree mechanics as it gets fire , fuel and compression but no start . You can put in a 1157 LED in place of the bulb in your tail light and it screws in just like a bulb without having to mod anything . The LED tailight pulls less power so the headlight(s) will be brighter and it will last forever . My Jonway Magnum the tail light went out the 2nd day so it was a good excuse to go with a LED . I have had a tail light burn out and not know it and almost got rear ended by a car . I could see and smell the smoke from the cars tires and it scared to poop out of me . Now if you have a moped tag that is illegal and not worth it the fines and legal bs . A motorcycle permit is just like a car permit test and you can ride without restrictions like having a licensed driver . Insurance can be around 90 a year for liability on a 150 , but if you do not have health insurance I urge you to get med pay added to your policy to pay the ER bill in case you wreck on your own like a tire blows out . My 49cc the insurance was 35 but with 5,000 med pay it went up to 56 a year . When you have a moped tag your labeled as a DUI drunkard and will get hate from a$$^&*&^s on the road . My Echarm I have full coverage with med pay and road side assistance was 332 . Now scooters are often stolen so protect your investment with a heavy chain at home or park in a garage or building. For on the go get a keyed thick cable not the combination locks that any teen can crack in seconds . Disc locks go through the vents on the brake rotor and prevent the wheel from rotating . I also use Masterlock ubolts that go through the wheels which acts as a disabler and I can run a chain through them and not scracth my scooters . If you go to any bicycle section of a retail store they have some locks . I like the Bell cable lock since it can be locked without a key , and its thicker than most . I have a Brinks cable lock its much thicker and stiffer to route and has a round key instead of flat but needs the key to lock . The Masterlock ubolts are forged and very hard beyond bolt cutters . I first bought some when I rode Canondales and did not want to have a 700 dollar mountain bike to be stolen . I killed a Sawzall blade cutting it and it took over ten minutes with a hacksaw as I had to rest and it ground down the teeth on the blade . So the forged ubolts are very hard . Thieves want quick and easy and avoid a scooter that would require MacGyver or loud power tools which would alert the owner . Since you may need an exhaust I bought this eshop.mainelyscooters.com/product/cat-139qmb/4-stroke-high-performance-exhaust/ and you will need the header pipe and maybe the optional bracket like I got as well . My stock was bolted on and I wanted more than a single strap to hold it on . The straight bracket lined up perfectly and the triangle was no good but I got it anyways just in case I may have needed it . There is two bracket kits with and w/o the triangle piece . This is like a Cherrybomb and sounds like an offroad motorcycle but not annoying loud like mufflerless is . You will need to upjet since its not restricted and no CC . A Uni or K&N style airfilter will have more flow but will be too lean unless you install bigger jets and you may need several sizes and test until you find what works . Now if you remove the airbox you will be vulnerable to getting water into the engine from rain or puddles . I have a friend and he had a cool air intake behind the grill . Well he went through a puddle , water got in and he hydrolocked his engine and busted 2 pistons . A cheap way to tune a scooter is with roller weights in the CVT , lighter will have faster take offs and uphill but to light will slow you down . Heavier may make you faster on the top end depending on the gears . Slider weights last longer , are quieter and have more gear ratios and I gained 5 mph top end with the same weight as my rollers

I wanna know where you got that EFI from. How the hell do you put EFI on a scoot? I didnt even know that that was even possible. Does it improve performance? Does it improve efficiency and if so what is the better compromise between the two? Power >,< or =? guess ill just have to look thru the forum a bit for these answers but I am really glad that I saw your signature! thanks for the insight guys I will be taking this stuff into all accounts. see yall in the forum!
