I promised not to come and post here anymore but just wanted to share what happened last night with one of my neighbor. He was been told several times to secure his scooter but he didn't do anything. He said nobody will care about it because it's already old stuff. But last night it was finally stolen. For my scooter since I don't have small garage, everyday I park it in front of the house but I have to lock. I bought chain and padlock, bought tarpaulin to cover and have to switch on the fluorescent bulb in front to light on. So far up to now my scooter still here safe and running. Attachments:

The only problem I have is the metal parts of the scooter is with rust due to continuous raining here. I have to buy Microtex Tire Black solutions and WD-40 to clean it. But I am not doing regularly because most of the time I am sick.

lonely ,
thieves look for EASY targets. the harder u make them work, the more likely they will by pass u & go find a easier one to steal.
at home... in her tent garage.. Chrissy has a disc lock + a cable lock + a thick chain, locked PLUS i mounted a motion detector light on the telephone pole at the edge of the property. { that way it shines on the tent , rather than out into the street.}
on your pics, it looks like your chain goes threw the "luggage rack". i can take the rack off in 1 minute.
NOW, IMHO, i think u should run it threw your rear tire. that way they have to take off the WHOLE tire, etc etc etc. THAT WOULD BE HARD!!!

Please never get lazy and always lock it. I like your green scooter cover. Did you make it? I notice it matches the awning over your windows. If I cannnot park in my garage, I always park right next to the window. I always keep a close watch.

As you can see from my video, our place is congested, with small road and houses are made up of cheap materials which means majority of people around are poor. So thieves and robbery are rampant. It's hard to describe but without proper precautions in everything around, then expect of something bad happen. Have a nice day!

Yeah i had my scoot stolen, like a dumb a$$ i thought that with someone being up at my house all hours of the day would make people think twice needless to say it didnt. But lucky for me we have a police dept here in clolumbus that accually does their jobs and it was recovered later that day! The kid took it and hot wired it but what he didnt know is that my gas gauge didnt work so it always looks like it has a full tank . He ran outa gas and was about a block away from the gas station when the police caught him. So now i have a 1/2in cable with a grade 8 padlock and when i get my taxcheck im ordering a disc lock. Are there any other security options that you would recommend. I already lock it to a lightpole in my yard and run the cable through the front and back wheels.

I use Masterlock u bolt locks found in any bicycle section of a retail store along with a thick cable with built in lock for travel and heavy chain at home . I should have two disc locks this week too as Greg has them cheap . The ubolt locks are forged steel and I put through the wheel and around suspension

In addition to an on guard "Bulldog" chain (which weighs more than I do.) My bike cover has a built-in 130db alarm that goes off even it pulled up only slightly.

So far I've been collecting a couple of cheap insurance / security measures. 1.) Grip Lock
* Great deterrent for average thieves * Keeps brake engaged, allowing less chance to be bumped into and fall * Secures throttle to thwart attempts for others to overuse the throttle and potentially flood the carburetor * $80 on EBay www.grip-lock.com/Grip-Locks/2.) Kryptonite New York Noose (4.25') * Can't be infiltrated with a Bic pen anymore * Strong chain (Manganese Steel, sounds tough ;D) * Key Registration on the website allows for replacement keys *$80 - $100 (depending on size) on EBay www.kryptonitelock.com/products/ProductDetail.aspx?cid=1000&scid=1002&pid=11963.) Scooter Waterproof Cover* Thieves won't know what they are getting into * Works well especially at home * Coming in the mail and spent $20 on it 4.) Fake GPS decal sticker (or a real one ) ;D e.g. ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Y7%2BDG8RoL._SL500_AA300_.jpgI plan on getting this soon. Hope this list helps. <(^_^)>

Now that's security! And just to give them a heads up, I think an extra decal sticker like this would at least prepare the thieves for their inevitable doom! www.rockon.se/contents/sv/p1448.html

I'm not a thief, but if I were, I would look for a bike that isn't tied to anything but itself. cause I know that me and a another person can pick the bike up and put it in the back of my truck. So, it doesn't matter how secure your bike is and doesn't matter how many locks or security devices you have on it.
If its not tied to a tree, sign pole, or bike rack or what ever else you can tie it to (IT'S GONE!!!)
P.S. You wouldn't leave you Bicycle tied to itself outside or in front of a store would you?? HELL NO! I wouldn't. I'd lock it to a bike rack. That way they have to take the rack an the rest of the bikes with them.
Please, lock your bikes to something.
