I have a 2010 Peace Sports Bashan the one with the VIP stickers and Future Champion on most of them it has really good power does 40-45 on ave on longer trips 35 through the city but when I hit a hill it loses power and hits 15-20 sometimes only 10 I put a new NGK plug in and it helped alot with power but the hills are a killer im not sure if its the rollers or the carb any suggestions? ??

Big Bore Kit You can try tuning the clutch (rollers or sliders, performance variator, clutch, better belt) but, A 72cc BBK is the best bang for the buck. Those hills will be no problem. BTW-The carb is most likley not the problem.

Hello sjpassa I have a Peace Sports Dash 50, to solve the uphill problem you will need to change the weights in the variator, Mine did the same thing as yours, and it came stock with 4.9 gram weights.. If you up the weights to 6.0 grams I think you will like the performance much better.. Now i get an average of 43 MPH, going up some hills i drop to about 35, normally when that happens, it's a hill combined with a hard wind.
I weight 215 pounds, and anywhere I think from 180 to 220 your looking at 6.0 gram rollers. And even with a BBK you will have to upgrade your CVT anyway to take advantage of the new power.
:-)

It's not a peace sports, but is the VIP FC All stock. From what i can gather, the CVT on the vip scooters seem to have a farily well tuned CVT right out of the box for some one in 150 - 190ish weight range and using heaver rollers or sliders helps the best on them for a simple fix (less a big bore kit). Now im not %100 sure what my rollers weigh in at but im thanking around 8g as im almost always in or near the power band up hills. Doin't hold this too me but i'v read that about the Vip scoots.

ok so 16X13 6.0 grams or 6.5 what do you recommend i weigh 180 and my scoot looks just like your red and black one only mine is stock Mine for the most part is stock, I haven't done any upgrading to the engine, My major upgrades was to the CVT NYC teflon coated variator, I got from Enviormoto, and the 6.5 gram weights. a Few others upgrades I made to fix other problems i had. #88 jet because i was running to lean with a # 85 main, coil upgrades were mainly for cold weather starting. but if yours is running well no need. I think the 6.0 weights will do what you want, I think 6.5 are just a little too heavy without a BBK, So i em recommending the 6.0 gram weights. I'm actually getting ready to downgrade to them myself, to improve staying in the power band performance. Make one upgrade at a time and gauge the performance gains or losses then you can continue from that.

My normal speed up hills averages 35, Iv'e dropped to 30 if it was a two mile uphill slope with the wind coming at me at 15 mph or more.. But for the most part 35 to 42 is my average speeds. It's still a 50 cc so it will have it's limits it can do. But from the factory the Peace Sports are trying to I believe comply with the laws regarding a 50 cc scooters top speed. One way they accomplish this is the weight of the variator weights..
Also you wish to do some reading about other ways these scooters are restricted from the factory, washer in the varatior, airbox restrictions, Intake restrictors, or muffler restrictors. Mine had none of these but it's always wise to check... Good luck

There will be one other gain you may notice. As the new weights will send your belt to the top of your variator more quickly, and your operating more in your power band, more power from the fuel your burning will be going to the road. Your top end should increase a little and also your fuel economy. Let us know how it goes for you ;D

Lowering my roller weight (from 9 to 4.5) helped me get up hills much better... I don't understand how heavier rollers are going to help this guy at all... Don't heavier rollers hold the RPMs back until you get up to speed?

If you want to climb hills better, get a stiffer torque spring, it'll help keep your RPM's up while you're decelerating uphill. Lighter rollars help some, but the true answer is torque spring

Okay, so I have the same problem and I've been reading this thread and agree with Itdhpp. I thought that the heavier they are the more they restrict your RPMs. I'm looking to increase my speed up hill as well but I don't weigh nearly as much as you are talking. I weigh about 120lbs. Any suggestions for the weight of the rollers? Another question, I'm not exactly the only one riding it. The other person does weigh about 170 or so, if I lighter rollers, what effect does it have when that person rides the scooter?
