Let me tell you guys a thing or two about doing business. Number ONE priority ALWAYS is customer satisfaction! This I know because I am in business and as a small company out here on Cape Cod, I know how important it is to be there for any customer who walks in or calls. All that said (NO disrespect to any other advertisers here as I have had reasonably good experiences with some) Partsforscooters.com went out of their way this morning to see to it that I will get the parts I need before the weekend! The person on the phone was very nice and took my order directly. She even got me hooked up with wholesalers and made my life A LOT easier by pointing me in the right direction so that come springtime when demand is high, I'll be ready for the people to come in and NOT have to tell them "I'll have to order it". Serious props to these guys and gals! they seem to have their stuff together and I suggest to anyone, business or casual tinkerer to go to them for your parts needs. Like I said, NO disrespect to guys like Scrappydog. I know he does a great job too as I've dealt with him also but bar none, PFS rocks!

In the 3 years that we have done business with them I must also say they are a first class operation. I wish I could say the same about the many others that think they are but are not!

I ordered a scooter cover and a brake lever from PFS, fast shipping, constant updates and the parts were excellent quality. Enjoyed doing business with PFS and they are first on my list for replacing standard parts on my scoot!

Thanks a lot guys! I like where this thread is going...
I'd like to try to put together some for of customer appreciation event in the future, like a big ride somewhere epic (Like Deals Gap... Wink Wink...) where we could have the opportunity to meet our customers.
I'll have to keep on planning this...

You know what gang, (Matt, especially for you folks at PFS) I just had THEE WORST experience being ALMOST ripped off by a fraudulent drop shipper seller. It sucks but at the time I didn't research enough and was in a hurry to get a great deal. This is how they rope you in so be very wary of such low pricing and free shipping offered, the only thing free will be their next vacation! Of course, on your credit card. More to the point though is that THESE unscrupulous people make others afraid to do E-commerce and it's unfair to dealers and parts sites like scrappy or PFS. I say to anyone who has had a bad experience to have the courage and effort to get your State's attourney general to pursue fraudulent businesses like Mxmotorsports and rid the web of these lackeys. People like Matt and Scrappy, and rapid repair guy Jim don't need this scum swallowing up useful web space to ruin the good in online scooter buying.

I am having a huge problem with the scooter dealer mentioned in one of these posts. I will try PFD today. I suggest the following. Insist on an itemized bill of what is being shipped, before it is shipped.

i recently placed an order at PFS for a clutch shaft, clutch shaft bearing, counter shaft, counter shaft needle bearing, and a tranny gasket for a 244cc china clone. got everything i ordered within 4 days.
i was impressed with the gasket, it was a high quality vinyl type of gasket. the needle bearing looked a little iffy though. in my inexperienced opinion it didn't look heavy duty and it seems like it will be really hard to pull it when and if it fails
installed all the parts and have put over 200 miles on them.

leo - If that bearing fails, let me know. I don't have any complaints about them as it stands, but I'd love to get your feedback on it if anything actually happens.
Thanks, Matt

Hey I just ordered again from PartsForScooters. They sent a 15% coupon code for today, CYBER15. So I used it. I wanted to try another weight torque spring for a while.

Hoca parts. Either the hoca variator or the dr. Pulley variator

tour96se - Okay, well, here is what happened. Hoca had a production hold up, but the parts are actually about to be rec'd into our warehouse. Dr. Pulley is a new brand to us and has sold better than we forecasted, the parts are in transit, we ordered a whole bunch more so the issue should be resolved in the future. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks, Matt

Parts For Scooters did me right too, no grief at all, I was very impressed, I will also say Enviormoto has done well by me too. Kudos to both for being on top of their game.. A pleasure to deal with either of them.

Compared to the frequently updated MRP blog, the PFS blog appears to be pretty much neglected.

tortoise - Yep, that's my fault. Most of what is going going on is on our facebook page, or I usually speak with our customers directly. We have been so busy this year that I just haven't had the time to devote to the blog this year. After we finish the re-design of our website, and get all of the new products into stock, I hope to be able to focus a bit more on it again soon. Sorry.

Arright, So I went ahead and updated the blog a little bit. While I'll never be quite the prolific blogger that MRP is, for those of you that decide to check it out I tossed in a little something about a currently unannounced product line that is coming very soon here at PFS. Thanks for the kick in the ass guys.

leo - If that bearing fails, let me know. I don't have any complaints about them as it stands, but I'd love to get your feedback on it if anything actually happens. Thanks, Matt the bearing failed. it not only failed the needles practically turned to powder. the bearing had 1843 miles on it. original bearing was japanese. part # TA 1416 Z IKO G the good news: i got the gasket off in one piece, i can possibly reuse it. too bad the bearing wasn't as tough as the gasket. the next question is what exactly has this done to the countershaft? i will take the parts to a local honda dealer to see what's up with that. i was there when i originally needed the parts and they said they could order the bearings but not the countershaft. hopefully the countershaft can be reused, the bearing surfaces doesn't seem gouged or scored. this is partly my fault. i knew from the get go that the bearing "looked iffy" (my previous post # 13) i should have returned it but was itching to ride so bad it clouded my judgment. reference thread: scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=200cc&action=display&thread=44426

pulled the bearings out of the CVT case and final drive cover. the failed bearing was on the wheel side. the original was also on the wheel side. this bearing was easy to remove, almost like the hole it goes into has been enlarged. i assume that the original bearing caused this damage when i pulled it. the outside of the race of the original was deformed by the needles being hung and drug around the race, in one place the race was worn completely through.
i also never flushed the final drive after the original replacement. i wiped the inside clean with paper towels.
the race of the PFS bearing was all was left of it. the race looked almost mint, it looks like everything else inside it just vaporized. the lower third of the metal wheel side washer was scored and worn. pieces of metal forming points on the inside diameter. had to drive the countershaft from the washer and bent the washer in the process.
my analysis:
the needles were too small diameter. the final drive wasn't flushed, possibly allowing crud to destroy the bearing. the bearing either stopped getting oil or had diminished oil flow causing overheating that caused the failure. the mounting hole was enlarged to a point where the bearing wasn't rigid. one more thing, the '86 elite manual calls for either 10W-30 or 10W-40 for the lube. i used 70-80-90 weight gear lube.
take your pick.
anyway . . . i got 2 more ordered. i'm gonna replace both ends. hit a pothole the other day and bent my rim, so i'll be needing one of those. the rear tire is showing cord so i need one of those too. minor compared to the countershaft bearing.

I have to jump in and (even though it looks like they have enough props) give credit where it's due. I was refered to PFS by a local Genuine scooter shop because of my knock off gy6 scooter. They had the exact parts that I needed and it got here within days. This weekend I picked up a Roketa 250 with a shredded belt - No way to ID it. Being told that it's the same as the Yamaha morphous, I called a dealer and got a quote for $156. Ahh, no thanks. Did some research and measuring and calculating, and came up with the belt size. No parts places in town had it and to order it was at least $38. Then I remembered...PFS! Found the belt for $22.99 ordered it about 10pm last night. Just got and email saying it was shipped. Thanks to PFS, I shold be on the new scoot by this weekend.

Thought I'd post this experience.....Yesterday afternoon while trying to track down an odd noise on my Scooter, I discovered I needed a clutch assembly. The small bearing inside was going bad and I had no tools too take it apart and replace the bearing. So at 2:48PM I ordered a clutch assy for my Scooter from Partsforscooters.com. I received an email within a few minutes (after the initial order confirmation email) that the order was already being processed. Within the next half-hour I received and email from Stephanie Gellar stating that the order had already shipped. Sure enough when I tracked the package at USPS.com it showed it had already been pickup at 5:24PM and was sorted that night. Well needless to say I woke up this afternoon with the part on my doorstep!!! Now granted I only live about 75 miles (or 2 counties over) from PFS...but this is phenomenal service by any standards!!!! Now everybody won't be able to get their parts as fast as I did, but it's all about efficiency in order processing!! Whenever I order from them they almost IMMEDIATELY pull the parts and box and process the order!! If only everybody could do that it wouldn't take close to a week to get parts when you need them! I hate placing an order and having it sit for 24 to 48 hours before it's processed and shipped!!! A big thumbs up again for Partsforscooters.com for having the quickest most efficient shipping department in the industry!!
