I got to sit on a 2005 Kymco ZX50 today.... I fit on it.....it felt about the same as some of the 150cc scoots with 12" wheels. I estimated I had an extra 2" knee clearance, as compared to my Roketa 50. The seat made a difference also. It's about the same width all the way to the rear.....so when you sit on it, it doesn't try to force you forward. This model is no longer available from Kymco (I think)......I've still been wanting to sit on an Agility 50, but the local Kymco dealer hasn't had one lately. I'm wondering if this slightly bigger frame is available in any of the current Kymco models? I might have bought the thing, but the guy wanted too much and it had a few problems......I'll keep looking.

My local ADLY dealer (whom I know personally), got in a 2010 Adly Fox/Bulls-eye. I got to sit on it and ride it around. If I scoot back on the seat, it feels pretty good. But in the normal riding position, it feels cramped.....actually a bunch worse than my Roketa MC-01-50. It has a wheelbase 5" shorter than my Roketa, even though it has 12" wheels. And the floorboard and seat sit about 3" higher off the ground. The thing has regular motorcycle bars....but they don't seem to be nearly tall enough. It was a really nice-looking scoot, and felt good riding it. But still......too small for me.

Another try, another fail.....a Yamaha Zuma 2-stroke 50cc. Met a guy in a park today with one of these scoots, and talked to him a long time. From the way he talked, this scoot performs about the same as my 50cc Roketa, although it cost 4x as much. But I can't ride it.....the turn signals (very big) are in a terrible position for my knees. And the rest of the scoot feels small, even though it has monster big 10" tires, and looks like a big scoot. My little Roketa feels better sitting on it. When we left the park, he cranked it on, and I kept right up with him, even though I weigh maybe 25lbs more. Disappointing performance from a $2k+ scooter.

See if you can find yourself a Kymco People S 50. They discontinued the model this year, but I'm sure there are some still floating around. It is the same chassis as the People S 125 and People S 200. Very roomy design. Our local Kymco dealer says these were popular with the football players at the University of Minnesota where mopeds are the only motorized vehicles that can park for free. www.kymcousa.com/showroom/scooters/peopleS50/index.html

I did sit on a Kymco ZX50.....top of this page. And I fit on it pretty well. But there is only one dealer in town (St Louis Vespa), and his prices are out-of-sight. I follow Craig's list here all the time, and only a few Kymco models show up. I've been making trips all around the area to test out as many 50cc scooters as I can find.....but unless I found something exceptional, I don't want to spend the >$2k some places are asking for a 50cc scooter. My $600 Roketa came off Craig's list, and is only slightly small on me. If I upgrade to an expensive 50cc, it'll have to be a bunch better. The ideal would be a low-mileage 2-stroke 50 that fit me. That Kymco ZX50 was close, but it had a bent wheel, and the owner wanted too much.....plus it was never titled. If I buy a faster 50 than what I have, I'll probably title it so I can drive on the faster roads around here, without worrying about the 30mph restriction on scooters w/o plates. But if I do that, I might as well go for a 150cc......decisions, decisions.

Found a 2007 E-Ton Beamer locally on Craig's list. Perfect condition, 300 miles on it.....really nice. This is a 2-cycle 50cc made in Tiawan. This particular scoot had an rpm restrictor in place....wouldn't go much over 30mph. That could be fixed. But.....it had a manual choke lever mounted below the left handlebar. I couldn't turn the bars more than a few inches. But even with the choke relocated, this scoot was way too small......even with monster big 10" tires. Too bad. The thing was in perfect shape.

Here's a list of what I have done so far to get my knees to fit better.....I'm about out of ideas. The only thing left I can think of....a seat mod to the seat foam, allowing me to sit slightly further back. As soon as I can find a used seat of the same size.....I'll have it fixed. There's a local guy who does this sort of work. Here's what I have done...... Loosened the handlebar pinch bolt, and re-tightened it with the handlebars pulled up as far as possible. Gained almost 1/2". Had a new key made, and cut it as short as possible. My right knee fits ok now, without smashing the key. Bought a new pair of shows without heels.....look like bowling shoes. This gained me an extra 1/2" over my usual shoes. Removed the stock turn signals, and installed some turn-signal mirrors. There are other light options that could be done to replace the OEM signals. This was an important mod for sharp turning....the signals smashed my knees badly before the mod. It's still a tight fit when turning sharply, but 100% better than when I started. My knees are no longer wedged tightly on turns. Not perfect of course.....that's why I continue looking for a slightly bigger 50cc scoot.

Well i don't know if this helps at all, but this is a picture that was taken in sequence with a bunch of other photos, disregard me HAHA. A little too much to drink that night. There is a reason it's still chained to the tree. As you can see though, plenty of leg room on my Motorino Supremo and it is completely comfortable. It also has plastic extensions if you want to extend your feet out further than the 90 degree angle scooters force your legs into. Mind you I'm almost 6 feet tall, and do lots of squats and dead lifts, so leg room was a concern of mine on a scooter.

Not to mention it's nice looking. I think i'm going to paint it all flat black soon, though.

Well I've tried out a scoot with that exact body.....even had the extended floorboard sections. It was way too small for me. Looked like the floorboard was higher off the ground than my Roketa. That jammed my knees into the bars. (I'm about 6'4")
That photo you posted....you look to be sitting on the rear section of the seat. That certainly gives you extra knee/leg room. But if I try that on my Roketa, after a few miles the forward slope of the seat slides me forward toward the handlebars.
If I have the foam of my seat cut down somewhat...it may work better. I'm looking for a used seat that I can have recovered, with the foam modified...still working on this setup of mine (and looking for a big 50cc at the same time).

Yeah, i find it a lot more comfortable to sit near the cargo rack. You do get the cocked arms like you're riding a harley though. haha.

And now something completely different.....A 2008 Longbo 150. I've never driven a scooter with 16" wheels, so I jumped at the chance. I'm not sure how this model compares to the other scoots with these big wheels....they all look very similar. I fit on it real good. In fact the thing actually felt a bit too big. My feet barely touched the ground.....it felt like I was sitting maybe 6" higher up than my Roketa. I did not like the effect of the 16" wheels....very heavy steering. It felt like I was riding a motorcycle. Maybe some people like this sort of a ride....I don't. Too bad.....it looks very neat. But I won't buy anything like this.

Here's one I found on Craig's List......a guy on the other end of town apparently bought a truck-load, and is selling them cheap w/o warranty. Problem is he won't tell me the name or model #s of the things......weird. They are 50cc, 12 or 13" wheels, twin rear shocks on the longer frame. Looks like the first scoot in this thread which fit me well. But I'm looking to find specific info...before I drive 100 miles. Anybody recognize this scoot? Now that I think about this.....I wonder if these scoots are actually 150cc, and the guy is trying to pass them off as 50s so he won't have to furnish any paperwork? I've never seen a 50cc with OEM turn-signal mirrors. Strange......

Well I finally threw in the towel.....since I was never able to find a 50cc scoot that fit me much better than my Roketa. The few 50s that would have been worth the change were actually in 150 frames, and weighed maybe 50lbs more than my Roketa. These things are really slow. I finally found a Xingyue ITA 150 on Craig's List.....found it to be much better than the Longbo model I had driven. Too bad I had to buy plates and insurance, but the much improved riding position, as well as the increased power, made it worth the added expense. Big/tall guys....if you find a 50cc scoot that fits you good, you're a lucky person.

hey im 6' tall 280lbish with an inseem around 34.... this is my jinlun qt6 50cc 4 stroke, and offcourse its a gy6 its supposedly a 150 frame but im pretty comfortable on it, i sit back on the passangers seat and put my heals on the far edge of the front fairings. its pretty comfy and back on the passenger area when i stop im pretty comfortable on the balls of my feat. id have to look to get the seat hieght and blah blah but i do know it has 12" wheels. i did have to set the rear shock as tight as it will go for a comfortable ride, but out of the box i could do 25mph without a problem, high flow air filter 80 main jet and unrestricted cdi later i can cruise at 30-35mph all over town with pretty decent acceleration considering its a 3hp motor movie my fat self Attachments:

Well, I bit the Bullet and purchase a Benelli X50i a few weeks ago now.. I am 6'3" and now 345.. WLS is in my near future.. But for the low price for the scoot I though I couldn't beat it... Scooter came with 842 miles and now after this mornings ride 1120 Absolutely having a blast.. The thing is for my large self, I can get up to 45mph on flats.. Although I try not to so I won't damage the engine too bad and I have plenty of room on this thing.. anyone gets a chance it's a great machine For big people as well.. "Though with caution.. After I lost a couple of pounds I am now under the weight limit but still it's hard on the bike and engine.. We shall see " Just wanted to put in my 2 cents.. I feel like a kid again... When I lose 100 plus pounds, I don't think you will get my but off this thing

I have a vip cy50a an it's called a large frame scooter, yes a tall person can ride on it, but the maximum weight is 250lbs. My Son in Law always told me if he wasn't a big guy of 306lbs. he would love to have one of them, but he bought a Tank 250cc and it's the perfect size for him & my Daughter. Like I wear a size 9 an a half shoe an weigh 187lbs. I can't wear a size 6 shoe. So a scooter is like a pair of shoes.if they fit wear them if they don't get a bigger size, an I'm not trying to be mean either.
