Sunday, I decided to take a grand tour of greater Vancouver on my 50cc to see if I could use up a tank of gas and determine fuel mileage...
Here's where I went....
Starting at "F" (Points A and F are the same) which was the gas station I filled up at with Premium 94-octane, I headed west to the Airport. (B on map)
Plane Landing:
International departures Terminal:
From there I headed NorthWest to the University of British Columbia. (C on map)
View From campus:
UBC Thunderbird Arena, where the 2010 Olympic Hockey will be held (secondary Venue):
From there I headed East and then North into Downtown Vancouver, where I stopped by a friend's place to refuel (drink of water) and vent the grey water tanks (go potty)... (D on map)
I then headed East passing through E (Coscto) and then home...
All of this was GPS-tracked:
and I ended up traveling about 87 km (54 miles) and used about 1/2 a tank...
SO.... Monday, I had an errand to run, and decided again to bust out the Scoot once again...
Another 46km (28 Miles), and I'll be darned if I still hadn't run out of Gas...
So, Tuesday, yet another errand, which round trip was another 80km (50 Miles) so I was SURE I would need to fill-up along the way...
I made it this far:
which is an additional 12 km for a total of about 145km.
I filled up with 4.025 litres (including burping the tank, but not overfilling)
I was amazed at WOT for most of the journey, still got a GPS-verified 85MPG...
On a side note, this was my first International border crossing with this scooter. No problems, only a question about being cold from the border guard going into the USA.
On the way back into Canada, I was questioned by 2 people about the fuel economy, while stuck in the border lineup... Amazingly both were driving German diesels!!!
Overall I had a lot of fun on the 3 trips, the weather held out, and I am looking forward to many more pleasurable miles (km's) in the future!
