cruiser, i can attest to that. sportster seats are hard as heck, and i didn't want to spend $300 for a replacement. my inclination was to get a gel implant (no jokes here), but i read that this thing outperformed gel, so i gave it a shot........love it. the only drawback is that it does raise you a bit. even if you deflate it to the maximum minimum yer still up a bit. i wanted my handlebars a bit higher anyway, and on a mc, it's easy, i put 4" risers on it, and even with the airhawk, they're still up. don't know how that works on a scoot.......maybe some of you more experienced dawgs have raised your bars? harry, do you know if it can be done?

For longer rides I find that by putting my feet higher up on the angled part of the floor boards I can eliminate most the strain on my back. My wife ride with her feet flat straight down (like seated in a chair) most of the time and her back gets sore alittle. There is a guy at maxi-scooter forum that has a Kymco Peoples 250 with an airhawk seat. He rides his all over the country, hundreds of miles on long distance rides, he likes it.

I prefer the feet up position myself...I just find the bike a little easier to control in X-winds feet down . Sections of SR9 offer zero protection from the wind. Maybe I'll try SR530 next time I wander up that way.

I did a 150 mile ride on the Linhai Friday. Was fine, except it was hot and I got some sunburn. Saw some beautiful scenery though!

looks like I'm going to get a very good deal on the MS3-250...gonna trade-in the 50cc scooter for nice sum of credit toward the MS3. Hope to be cruising on her in the very near future!!!

:Puh oh, somebody's got it bad! is it the silver one you demo'ed the other day, hakuin? you won't regret it. it's kind of nice looking at the bike and being totally satisfied. that angst of wondering, "what can i do to it next to squeeze out a bit more performance?", is a thing of the past. other than the headlight and tail light modulators, the only mods are goodies i've thrown in the trunk. ;D

Hakuin - keep us posted and enjoy! I agree with smokerider - no need to try and boost performance.

Yes, Smokerider, it's the same silver scoot I test-rode last week...can't get past how well it accelerated (but my frame of reference is the 50cc). No, I'm not worried about performance mods, just preoccupied with when I can start putting some miles underneath me and the new ride!
Got it bad, indeed!! ;D
Maybe tomorrow for the trade if I can get there before work!

17,800 miles would seem to be an appropriate point to relegate 'ole blue to back up bike status

OK Harry, I'll bite. Where did you come up with that number? Its not an even number in km, like 25,000 or 30,000. Its not once around the world (that's 25,400 miles I think). Maybe its how many miles you project I'd have a Christmas .... ? HMM, yes, a Hyuosung would make for a nice present ....

LOL...I don't think I've ever owned a vehicle where it ended up costing me only 10 cents a mile to buy it. Of course the way Ole Blue is running she'll probably do double 17,800 miles and still have some life left in her.

Hey guys - something's wrong. I actually got to ride 2 days in a row without rain and 3 out of the last 4 days. I was out earlier and put some gas in. Looks like I'm getting about 50 mpg just running around the burbs here at 25-40 mph. Not only that, I saw another scooter rider about 500 yds in front of me. That makes 6 of us that I know of.
Ride safe!

Last time I checked the plug it looked pretty black...like I was running a bit rich..NGK tech manual says it could be from running too rich or running too cold of a plug. Checked the Hyosung manual and approved plugs are CR7E(hot), CR8E(normal) and CR9E)cold. So I figured I would try a CR7E. My theory is that ethanol burns colder then gasoline so I may need a hotter plug then factory recommended since we don't have gasoline here with less then 10% ethanol.
Idled it for 10 minutes in the garage(not much of a test) and looks perfectly clean afterward. If the Big Orange UFO that occasionally flys by shows up today I'll take her out for a bit of a ride.

parked?? Yeah, picked it up on my lunch break & had to finish a project before 5pm. Then the wind was gusting over 29mph after work. I'm too much of a noob to be fighting spontaneous lane changes at 55mph.
Only made a couple short-trips tonight. The weekend is looking promising, though!!
