Place - TBD (Somewhere in So Cal, below LA, above SD) When - Sunday, August 24th
If you're interested, respond with your area code (to determine location) and number of miles you're willing to ride (one way). Between all the beaches, mountains, valleys, and canyons we have out here, it should be fairly simple to find a good rally point.
Lets Ride!

Im 323, Central LA. I think Huntington would be a nice spot, but I want everyone to be willing to ride there. Lets get more opinions!

I'm certainly down for this rally!!! I'm in the 562 area code by cerritos auto square. I also voted for HB because well....its the closest to my location.
From HB to Newport might be a great ride along PCH. Even go thru the 'trendy' art gallery in newport. should get alot of attention.....hopefully all good. ;D

HB would be a good spot. Its about a 2 Hr cruise from LA if you stay on the surface streets, about 2 1/2 from Riverside. Lets get some more So Cal opinions before we finalize the spot. Sound the Horn! Rally the dawgs....

OK... Looks like HB is the choice so far. Depending on if we settle on it, what arrival time would work for everyone? Morning, afternoon, late-afternoon? Figure a 2hr ride from LA, maybe 2.5 from the IE, 1hr + from San Clemente. I dont think a morning meet-up would work because its a Sunday. Afternoon (12-2), or late afternoon(3-5) works for me. I dont mind riding at night, but Id rather not make it so that people have to ride 2+ hrs at night to get home.
I vote for a 2pm-4pm arrival window, to meet at Central Park in HB:
6622 Lakeview Dr Huntington Beach, CA 92648
or
Bartlett Park
19820 Beach Boulevard Huntington Beach CA 92648
Central Park has a a large parking lot a nice lake to hang out and relax at after the long ride. If we wanted to, we could reserve a covered picnic area and have a BBQ, there are also restaurants nearby.
Bartlett Park is more like a nature preserve, but there is a large parking lot and food and gas nearby.
Google map both of them, and see what you think.
This is gonna be a blast!

Hey all I would love to come. I cannot drive after dark I still only have my permit. I am waiting for msc. I will have to see about maybe see if I can truck scootie in because even in a car on a open freeway it can take 1 to 11/2 hours to get to huntington beach. Some of the neighbor hoods I would have to go through are not so nice either.
Don't give up on me I am looking for a trailer or a truck for my scootie. Tootiescootie

all the IE people should ride together as well.

For all the IE people, I mapquested it out and it looks like we could possibly meet around Mission Blvd / Temple Ave in Pomona/Diamond Bar area.
1 possible route is to take Golden Springs Rd through Diamond Bar to Colima / Harbor Blvd, then take Harbor all the way down to Fountain Valley and scoot over to Huntington Beach. The only sketchy areas along this route are those taking mission blvd through ontario / pomona and then again in santa ana on harbor. We can take some other routes around Santa Ana though.
Any other ideas?

rcracer, I just realized...if us IE guys took the above mentioned route, you could pick up harbor and come down with us. You can take Imperial to Harbor and Harbor south with no freeways.

If you need to figure out a surface street route to Huntington Beach, go to maps.google.com/ click on "Get Directions" then click on "Show Options" use "Avoid Highways" option to plan your route. The estimated travel times will be fairly accurate. If anyone has any concerns, let me know!

Now Pomoa is looking pretty good to me, but I guess it is settled on HB, lol! Don't mind me though, that is what I get for wanting to see what everyone else wanted before I voted! ;D
HB is probably doable. I am already in Norco for church, I can probably just truck my scooter to Norco and ride from there, save some time and some distance. I'll have to check and see how far it is, but it's looking like about a 50-70% chance of me being there, I have to see what else is going on that day.
Later afternoon would work great for me, 3ish if I got to choose.

How 'bout a short group ride. Like, instead of an hour or two, something more along the lines of 20-30min, just around the park area? I'm not too familiar with the area, but a short cruise around would be cool! And yeah, therustyaxe, it is looking like about 80-90% right now. My dad was telling me it was at least 4 hours if I had to avoid freeway, but I mapquested it and it is less than 2 hrs by way of pomona.

Aero...From Norco, take you probably 30-45 mins to Pomona going Hamner to Mission then over to Temple Ave in Diamond Bar/Pomona. Another 45 or so from there to La Habra. Then another hour south on Harbor to Talbert in Costa Mesa/Fountain Valley and jump right over to central park. It'll be good times.
There's a bunch of nice places to ride around down there and PCH is a great short ride from the Newport border up to the Bolsa Chica area. Used to live down that way.

I cruised over to the park this past weekend to do a scouting report. It seems Central Park will be the best location for everyone to meet at since it has plenty of parking on the street in front of the park. Look up Talbert ave and Cliffview lane, ca in google maps. Zoom in and you will see the whole street is designated parking. This will be a good area to meet everyone. I went ..er..tried to reach Barlett Park but could not find the entrance. I found out later its off adams thru some residential neighborhoods. I suggest we take a small cruise ( few mile radius of base camp) which may include a little of PCH and other 40-45mph streets. I suggest staying off Beach and other 45+ streets to keep it safe.

Looks good. I think this is a great location. Im praying that my swing arm arrives next week otherwise I am not going to be able to go. Its been two months and no word from Lance or my dealer, and I dont feel comfortable riding that far on the temp weld I have now. I hope this doesnt stop you all from going. I think itll be a blast... Im really hoping I can get it fixed by then.

Weld a new one out of piping like sussexscooterhead did. His was much lighter than stock and seemed to be bunches stronger as well. If you are good enough at welding and have access to materials that would be a decent way to go. It was in tip/tricks section under "intake, engine and frame modification" or something like that, I'll see if I can dig it up if you want.

Aero Thanks Aero, I know which swing-arm you are referring to. If I dont get one here in the next week, Im going to have to try to fab one. I figured the replacement would be here by now, but it looks like it probably wont. I cant even find one to buy. I have a couple calls in trying to get a Fly La Vie swing-arm (same scoot), but it doesnt look good, dealers just dont stock them. Im going to take my scoot to a custom/Harley guy I know with a pic of that swing arm, well see what he says. You guy better go! And take pics! ... and video!
