Hey just another thought!
Has anyone tried to weld a nut on the forks so that you can play with fluid level? , weld a nut on to plug it?
I guess this would be for one of those who wish to tinker or have the money and time to do so.

ok... I for one will admit I let my temper get the best of me, when I posted the comment about the poor spelling and grammar... It just happens to be one of my pet peeves.. I even correct my wife, much to my own dismay.. I just get very tired of hearing so much of the same complaints, from people who don't give the seller a chance to make it right, and don't understand what trade off they have made by purchasing online from a dealer 5 states away.. Sorry, they can't come and look at it, and you can't take it to them... So you'll have to do the work yourself, or pay someone to do it.. You can't expect them to pay Joe's Honda to look at it.. Sorry, You saved $3000 by buying a china scoot from Scootertronics instead of paying $6000 from Joe's Honda for a Honda.. So, you have to deal with the lack of a service dept and cowboy up to the decision you made. Sure, gauges should work, so if they don't check the wiring, and see if it's wiring or gauges, maybe it's the wiring to the sending units, it might just be a plug came loose... Easy fix, if it is the gauges, let scooternitro send you new ones and install them... If the forks are making noises, according to other owners, this is a common issue, and is generally related to the oil. If you had a competent mechanic look at it, and check the oil, then perhaps there is something wrong with the forks.. But have someone look at it, and expect to pay...

I need to respond to this thread. I thought of deleting it but I'm going to leave it as an example of how not to behave in the Dawg Pound. Brettbolt 1, 2 & 3 turned the thread into a pissing match. One of my moderators (I don't even know who, but I choose moderators wisely) escorted this sorry individual out the door and he had the audacity to continue coming back with new names. This ain't gonna be like all the other forums out there that are nothing more than verbal bar fights. I support which ever moderator took care of it 100%.
As for any of you reading this and wondering about my attitude towards free speach, this is the Dawg approach. I totally allowed this thread with with complaints about Scooter Mike, whom I've known for years and have recommended. We pretty much allow anything to be said here as long as it's said in a civil manner. I own this place and set the rules. Pissing matches are against the rules and I salute whichever moderator booted the guy. I exchanged a couple emails with him and even offered to reinstate him if he agreed to continue in a spirit of friendship. He just demanded a $10 donation he sent to to be returned. It was the best $10 I ever sent ;D
There is another great big forum for those that prefer bar fights.
You Dawgs take care and get back to doing it the way 99% of us do it. ;D

ok... I for one will admit I let my temper get the best of me, when I posted the comment about the poor spelling and grammar... It just happens to be one of my pet peeves.. wow.. Poor language skills here... Lots of wrong words.. misspellings.. I need to give back my degree in Language skills. < You made those statements, and then this: > Like many people today. < It's the old glass house thing.... Posting to this board, and others, is considered a conversation, much like email. Do you correct people with which you are having a conversation? Probably not, it would be considered rude. Now I don't have a 'degree in Language skills' so perhaps you could help me understand the structure of your sentence: > Like many people today. < lighten up!

Actually, there isn'tanything truly wrong with that structure. You see, there is a large difference between grammar, and dialect. I could go on and on and on.. but as you said, lighten up. I do correct people regularly, I can't help it. My mother is a Teacher and Librarian, and I studied language, what can I say, I get a bit compulsive over it.. But for the most part, I am not a pompous jerk who goes around correcting people. I made one comment about someone's poor language skills simply because of what he was saying, and how he was refusing to even contemplate the fact that he might actually be wrong about it. He was tearing down a seller, who never had the chance to make anything right. Therefore, for that person, I did go a bit on the warpath as it were. But, I am pretty easy going most of the time. The nice thing about our brain is we can usually usually figure out what someone has written, even if it is all jacked up. See there, I can use slang terms too! Look, I am not a bad guy, I am not a butthead, well, ok I am a butthead.. but I'm not a bad guy... It's just people, today, have forgotten how to take responsibility.. Ok, I'll go shut up now...

Maya Angelou said something along the lines of 'when someone shows you who they are, believe them'.
If there is nothing 'truly' wrong with the sentence, then what is truly right with it? > Like many people today. < It is not a sentence. You are justifying your attack on him, by what you perceive as an attack on a dealer. You attack his grammar, when you are guilty of the same. You say that 'made one comment' please go back and re-read your post, and count. If you have a problem with people not taking responsibility, lead by example. Admit that it was wrong to attack someone for their grammar, misspelling.... Then move on......

Admit that it was wrong to attack someone for their grammar, misspelling.... Then move on...... Talk about moving on.. sheesh.. Sentence structure is determined more by the context it is used, than by any one rule. when used by itself it must follow certain protocol. When used in conjunction with other sentences forming a paragraph, then other rules come into play, in this instance, I was stating that he was not accepting responsibility for his own actions, like many people today. I could have done it with the comma, as above, or I could have done it as two separate sentences, using one sentence as a conjunctive sentence. Which is what I have done. Sentence structure and grammar within the English language is very complex, add into this the American dialects, and it becomes even more unruly, and strange. Now they have come out with creative english in schools, to confuse the matter more. This allows the individual to determine what is proper grammar and spelling. All that we know about the english language is going through turmoil right now. Now, as for what I said, I did not truly say the words, though I did say I was wrong, so now let me say the words, I am sorry for what I said about his grammar and spelling. I did not mean to offend as much as just vent my frustration. I am not trying to justify anything, I am simply sorry. I only explained my own history of correcting poor language skills because I thought perhaps it might make it easier to understand why I did it, and that it isn't something isolated to just him. But even to my wife who I adore.. She gets very aggravated with me for correcting her, but she is used to it. Now, kind sir, can we move on from this? I feel this is beyond beating a dead horse, and will no longer respond to this course of dialog. Thank you. JimK (BTW, I know my signature is not correct, by putting my last initial in one word with my first name. Sometimes, it's ok to bend the rules a bit..)

When I was a little boy, maybe 7 yrs old, my mom and I were visiting my mémé ( French Canadian for grandmother). I don't quite remember what my mémé said in her broken English, but I corrected her. WHAM, I got hit up the side of the head! Mom said "don't you ever correct your grandmother again". I too am a linguist and notice and make mistakes often. I learned early on not to bring attention to them, especially if English is a second language for the other person. By studying languages, one can see why a person might make a mistake, especially due to the rules of their language versus American English. We all make mistakes in the heat of an argument. Jimkdaadtman acknowledged the fact and apologized. I for one was gratified to see that. So, as we are all here to help one another with our Chinese scooters and give support, let's put this behind us and hope that Karl and Scootertronics can come to a solution that works for everyone. It was the best $10 I ever sent ;D There is another great big forum for those that prefer bar fights. You Dawgs take care and get back to doing it the way 99% of us do it. ;D I apologize to those who were offended by my posts. Test driving only 2 scooters and then making a generalization about all of them was a bad idea -- I made a mistake and I regret it. I admire everyone here who rides a scooter because they are doing their part to reduce the global demand for gasoline. Not only that, but they are keeping the air cleaner in the process. I attempted to order a scooter online for my wife, but Lance no longer drop-ships to Northern California and they canceled our order. So I bought my wife a new 250 cc motorcycle with gets about 65 MPG. ;D Lee called me a 'sorry individual' and I neither appreciate nor deserve that label. He really doesn't know me. I served 8 years as an unpaid volunteer in Placer County Search and Rescue and during that time was directly responsible for saving two people's lives. I have also volunteered for the Rocklin Police department as a Ham Radio operator, and relayed a message which prevented a train from crashing into a string of vehicles in the annual Fourth of July Parade. I also donate blood every two months. I donated $10 to Lee because in another thread people helped me get through to the online dealer and my problem was resolved. I appreciated that. But then I got banned a few days later and did not feel so supportive so I asked for a refund. Anyway, I apologize to anyone I offended. And I will agree to continue in the spirit of friendship as Lee asked and re-donate the $10 if my original user name is un-banned. But I don't appreciate being called a 'sorry individual'. Its the same as the 'glass house' issue someone mentioned earlier -- you don't mediate a bar fight by throwing in personal insults. Peace, Brett Casebolt

You know, I think all that needs to be said here has been said. Brett, I welcome you back in the spirit of which you spoke. I hope you enjoy the forum and continue to benefit from it.
As for other issues, lets put them to rest. I am going to lock this thread. We need to get on with things. If anyone has any concerns or questions about this, PM me.
