Excellent! We are the "beta testers" on these things, and we will be the "source" on these things before it is over with. ;D I could not get the red one when I got mine, and defaulted to the Fast Black. Maybe I will be able to pick up a Red one cheap from someone totally disillusioned with the thing. These are very dodgy quality, but I think they have potential. They are very underpowered, and one of my "pipe dream" things is to get a 50cc version, and plant the 150cc driveline in it...

Hi everyone it has been quiet on here and hope everyone is doing well. (didn't fall off) I myself have not been able to ride much lately ( weather). I have had no new problem with mine and have enjoyed. The only thing I have done to it is place 1" reflective tape on it. It was a 10' roll and I used it on the seams along fender and bottom. I did this as there was a gap between parts and it made it look tighter. I hope help hold it together also. When I was working on mine removed most plastic and found it to be brittle. I had to come up with some ideas to connect as I broke a couple parts. It's all together and may be better then when new.

Yes, I was doing some doings under the front cover, and cracked it a couple of small ones putting it back. I went on the back with a very thin little smear of 3M marine adhesive. When they say that stuff is permanent, they are not kidding. This morning, I rode the Silver Wing, and parked in front of the coffee joint for a couple of hours visiting and shooting breeze, parked out front in the blue grid area between the handicap parking spaces. During that time, three of the local police wandered by and looked at the bike strangely, but moved on when they saw the plate. I have the only handicapped motorcycle plates around, apparently. fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/298006_2464419779435_1520473246_2603462_16775485_n.jpg

These trikes also draw a lot of attention. I am afraid to have one beer and ride as the cops really eye ball it. If they smell anything the games begin. Maybe this is a good thing I am saving money also on the beer. fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/298006_2464419779435_1520473246_2603462_16775485_n.jpg

Been really quiet on this site so I thought I give out a shout. Knock on wood I have had no trouble and I am over 350 miles. I am really enjoying the versatility of this trike. I have done all the little running around and its been great. I have put four bags of groceries 3 in back 1 under the seat with no problems. I think there was maybe room fo one more. I also been able to give my grand-kids a ride around the neighbor to their delight.
My top speeds are around 45 and I have not notice any problems. I keep it off the expressway and enjoy the backway around. I too would like more power buy not 150cc more for $2000 the cost of 300cc. I took a chance on the 150 and felt if it didn't work out I wouldn't be out to bad.
Will close for not wishing all a safe ride. I live in WNY state and we have been having 60 degrees for a high which is a bonus this time a year so I been using every chance I get.

Excellent, Ridencuss. The thing is a bunch of fun. With my legs continuing to get weaker, mine may end up turned in a year or two, and I will go for one of the rear pair standy-up trikes, but i think I will stick with the 150cc size for around-town. I have my Silver Wing for the big hiway, and am trying to save up the funds to trike it for the big super-slab machine.

I just changed to Dr Pulley sliders and upgrade drive belt. I used 18X14 10.5 gram for my use and a powerlink Gates belt (same size). I did this after reading that this would give the best performance upgrade for the money. The cost for change was around $60.00.
I took a chance when I order sliders on the size. I order this size (18X14) because web sites stated that most chinese 150cc engines used this size. The 10.5 grams were best for me but there different grams for different wants. Your weight and whether you want better low end or top end performance.
I went for better low end performance. Many web sites will help you decide which weight is best for you. The few times I have used it I noticed the difference. Best upgrade for performance for the money spent.
Hope this helps anyone who may be thinking of changing rollers. You tube has a few sites showing how to do this.
Keep it upright and enjoy the ride.

Hello All. I am new to the ScootDawg site and wanted to put in my two cents for this somewhat old posting about the DF150TKA. I just recently got one, and yes, I agree that it handles nothing like a 2 wheeler. Definitely takes some getting used to. Scared myself a few times mostly in sweeping turns. I find that if you even breathe on the brake levers while in the turn, the trike wants to immediately straighten up and thus not turn. I have found that it's best to set your speed prior to entering and hope you don't need to break in the turn. Anyone know where I can get some accessories or upgrades for this thing? I'm looking for a trailerable cover.

Anyone know where I can get some accessories or upgrades for this thing? I'm looking for a trailerable cover. There is no real support/upgrade for it, which is a shame. I have been looking for the same cover thing to use when I trailer the scoot to rallies. Nelson-Rigg makes a cover for the CanAm Spyder RS that looks promising: www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/4/63/35839/ITEM/Nelson-Rigg-Can-Am-RS-Spyder-EP-Full-Cover.aspxI don't have the cash right now, but it looks kind of promising. The CanAm is about a foot wider and longer than the 150TKA, but the height is very close. The thing will be to be able to tension the cover up to avoid flapping, as I don't think the bodywork would take much of that. There are a number of upgrade thingies around for the GY6 powerplant that it uses, but not that I know of for the 150TKA itself.

I appreciate the response. Quick question for ya, Do your wheels seem to hop or bounce when you are running at speed? Say about 35-45 mph. Mine seems to hop if you will. I was considering the adjustment on the shocks in order to put more down force on the wheels, but I just got this thing and I'm still learning the ride of it.

You will probably find that the hopping is an alignment issue; these things are VERY sensitive to it. Lock that thing upright, and put two sheets of wax paper under each front wheel, to let things easily move a bit. Put someone on the bike that weighs about the same as you, and hold the bars straight. (my next-door neighbor in my case; he got a chuckle out of it) Loosen the lock nuts on both ends of both tie rods on the front, and use a measurement thingie of some kind (two yardsticks in my case), place them against the edges of the rims where the tire bead is, front and back, and measure them. You will probably find that the measurements are different (this will be the "toe-in"). Adjust the tie rods so that the measurements are the same front and back of the wheels. Be sure to do the adjustment equally on both tie rods to keep the bars straight. That should clear up the hopping. And be sure to do it with someone close to your weight on the bike - they seem to be sensitive to weight with the alignment thing. I recommend you run full preset on the front shocks; makes the ride a bit abrupt, but mine seems to handle better. Your mileage may vary, though. ;D

I appreciate the tip. I will work on that. I removed both front wheels from the trike and took them down to the shop for a balancing. Found that both were way off with one being severely out of balance. I had them weighted properly and once reinstalled on the bike realized that there isn't enough clearance between the wheel and the brake caliper for the weights. So back to the shop. Had them redone and have found now that the hopping problem is worse than before..Very frustrating. I will keep you posted on the alignment once I get a chance to check it out. Thanks again.

I need a tilt locking cable. I broke mine at handlebar end and I am not having much luck in finding one.

Hello All. I am new to the ScootDawg site also. I ordered a MC_D150TKA and should be getting it today or tomorrow. I was a mechanic for 14 years and now I'm in the electronics business working in our R&D department testing and prototyping. So hopefully I will be able to get this thing running properly and maybe improve it. When it arrives what should I look for before excepting delivery (things I might miss or that you wish you caught before you took delivery). Also if you sit on it unlocked and fully leaned over not moving will it fall over or hold your weight without falling over.
Thanks, Mark PS: Great forum!!

Hey, Markt40-welcome to the forum! The way these puppies come delivered inside a metal frame on pallets all you can really do is cut cardboard away, remove plastic covering the trike, and check all body panels/etc. for damage. Since you're a wrench I'm assuming you're gonna do your own PDI. I say this is a must and you need to remove all the body panels and check EVERYTHING closely. I found numerous issues that would've led to major problems if not easily corrected during the PDI(I followed the recommendations of the Big Guy PDI which can be found on other forums). I've got the MC_D300TKB which has pretty much the same front end/tilting design. I can sit on mine at full tilt but...1) it's not comfortable, and 2) it puts a lot of stress on the tilt limit stops-probably not a great idea. Good luck with the RT(reverse trike) and let us know how you make out. I'm still tweakin' mine(got her last August).

I got my trike today no apparent damage yea!!!! ;D Put it together greased everything, changed all oils, added gas, put the acid in the battery charged and installed. Cranked it 4 times in five second intervals and she fired up and ran great. Only problem so far speedo didn't work. I found the speedo cable was not indexed in the rear axle and was not all the way down tight. It works now. Attachments:
