Great questions. They will help me do a better review.
I have only braked it hard one time and that was in a very real traffic situation. I'm sure that everyone has different styles on applying brakes and if you don't apply them properly, you will get different results. I braked hard enough to lock the back wheel for about one second. I'm pretty good at applying both front and back evenly. No serious dipping of the front end. The rear started to skid a little to the left but was easily corrected. I will do some more hard braking in a more controlled environment. It's a good question.
Yes, Lewtoo, I will take it on the highway for short stints. It's a much better bike to do it with than the Phantom/Matrix and clones. I think the larger 16" wheels and thin profile really help the stability of the ride....not to mention the three extra horsepower.
As to the noise, it is a pretty quiet ride. Probably quieter than the ET4 but I happen to have a dB meter and will do a comparison with a stock Matrix and the ET4 this weekend.

Hey, I just got my Pegasus today. In fact, I've ordered two of them because of your review. I ordered two silver ones and then changed my mind to get one silver and one gold. However, they shipped them so fast from the factory that they didn't get the gold one out in time and it will be here in a day. These are my very first bikes ever and I am very impressed. The guys at www.urbanmotoshop.com in Austin, TX were really helpful and said that QLink was a great company to be working with. Urban Moto Shop ordered these scooters as a special favor for me after I read this review and they had nothing but great things to say about the company. QLink included shop manuals for them which other companies don't do and they actually called the next day to make sure the bikes had arrived. In fact, I got my motorcycle license just so I could get these bikes. My only note so far, and it may be a common thing, but the right hand mirror is reverse threaded - doh! And, again it may be a scooter thing, but the side mirrors are not adequate enough for me to feel comfortable no matter how much I adjust them. Then again it could just be my inexperience on a bike. My Shoei Helmet will only fit under the seat if I force it and I wish there were just a slight touch more room under the seat, but compared to others, it has a ton of space down there. My helmet does fit in the trunk. These things just rock. Thanks for the review and for turning me on to this bike, Brad

Oh yeah,
And, there is no kick start. Not a problem and probably a waste of space since the electric starter is so good, but you will want to make sure that your battery never dies.

Wow, you must really trust my reviewing. Congrats. By the way, most scoots have reversed threads on one of the mirrors. If you pull up the rubber boot that covers the locking nuts for the mirrors you might be able to get a better adjustment. Where I've got mine, they provide a much better than average view. You are right about the kick start. I need to add that to the review. I hope you like these as much as I do. Keep us posted.

I really don't think you would be sorry about it in any way if you did. We had warm weather again today in KC and I took it for a spin before working with the Kymco. It is one of the smoothest riding and most comfy scoots I have ever ridden. One of the things I really like about it is that it doesn't try to look like a sport bike. It looks like a scooter. That might just be my old age setting in. ;D

I purchased a Pegasus 150 a few days before Thanksgiving. The weather warmed up to 60 to 65 degrees and all I did for a week Is ride ride ride. I am retired. At 53 years Old. Not Bragging. I have a very high mechanical apptitude. Not bragging just an inherited and developed gift from working on farm machinery since before my teens. This Scooter is the One and only 150cc I like. It Cruises at 60 mph effortlessly. I hate to travel on the Interstates with a motorcycle so I always choose State Roads and Backroads. Rode it To Indianapolis in Christmas Shopping traffic. It was easier than a Car to get around in. A friend asked me where I went and he just moaned, like It was unthinkable. I understand why he has a big heavy Cruiser Bike. I used to hate riding my 600lb Yamaha 1100 in traffic. Talk about FUN get one of these scoots. It is The Most Fun I Have Had On A Street Bike. I say Bike because that is what it feels like. No oil leaks. No problems. I got mine for $2199 at a dealer in Muncie IN. You can find him listed on the Qlink website. He had a Silver one left. I got the gold one. Just in case anybody In Indiana is Interested. Take good care of it and you will not be sorry. I should try to start a Dealership. No I am enjoying Retirement to much. Zoom Zoom Zoom I am of riding into the sunset. Dawg this thing is the BOMB!

It's good to hear your feedback, 007. I hope we can get more feedback from other Pegasus owners. I think this scooter is seriously good. One thing I've learned is that it's easy to think it's fun to write reviews, but I've learned that folks make decisions based on them and lay down some serious coin sometimes. It's rather sobering and I really wouldn't want to lose credibility by writing a good review on a lousy product. This scooter and the company behind it are worth every penny.

I sure did. It's one of the sweetest little scooters I've experienced. When it started getting close to time to give it up....well, I just couldn't stand the thought of losing it. MCO should arrive any day now so I can get it properly tagged.

500 mile report. Well, I've now put 500 miles on the Pegasus and have nothing to report. Zero problems. Everything works flawlessly. I can feel the engine starting to loosen up and smooth out as it breaks in. We have some decent weather for a change. I'll be switching out the oil with some Mobil 1 synthetic which should help it smooth out even more.

Lee merely curious have you been under the hood deeper than the idle screw access door? How accessable is this beast? Does the liquid cooling make servicing difficult? Have you had the variator cover off yet? Is the oil and gear oil drains as accessible as a GY6??

Post by Admin on Dec 12, 2006 18:26:45 GMT -5
Haven't really been under the hood. Oil change is readily accessable. Getting to the engine is like most other scoots....remove the storage bin under the seat. If you look through the pics, the right glove box is where you get to it to add coolant. Haven't done any body panels and won't unless I have to. I hate body panels with a passion. Rather go to the dentist.

LOL, thanks for sharing Aaron. Qlink had that ad drawn up just for scootdawg but there really wasn't anyplace to post it on the forum. At this point, I'm going to plug not just the product but the company. Johnny Tai is a quality guy who was a pleasure to deal with and I am very much looking forward to meeting him at the Expo. Any company can have problems but I am convinced that QLINK is absolutely dedicated offering affordable quality and maybe more importantly SERVICE after the sale.
He told me a story about how cfmoto was doing a production run on the Pegasus and somebody on the QLINK team noticed that there was an indentation on the front fender......a slight defect in the mold they used to shape the plastic. The dent was barely noticable but it was there. QLINK had cfmoto replace every fender in the run. I was in manufacturing for a good part of my adult life and was in positions where I was responsible for quality control and know a little bit about it. A good manufacturer will keep track of problem areas and warranty claims and work to improve the product. I believe QLINK is one of those companies.

Aaron, now you are just getting shameless. You can quit plugging the sponsor for a while. I know you are secretly coveting a 250 of some sort.

True but the Pegasus is "almost" exactly the performance specs I'm looking for. And there is a Qlink Dealer in ME. Given the Performance of the 150 a 200 would be "perfect". I'm done but it was honest admiration.

Woohoo! Just rec'd the MCO in the mail today. I want to report that it is still running flawlessly. Today is the last day it will be left out in the elements. It has been left outside since day one to test it's resistance to rust, etc. and it still looks like new. It is now my main ride so I think it prudent to start garaging it. I will continue to update this thread occasionally and will definitely report on any problems that develop. So far, this scooter has far exceeded all expectations.

I would have garaged it/covered it as soon as I knew I was buying it. I understand leaving it out in the elements for the purpose of the review but why subject your new baby to those harsh conditions? Now get that puppy inside ASAP ;D Glad she is still running flawlessly. I hope you get many trouble-free years out of it. Any mods planned? Are there aftermarket parts available yet for the Pegasus? Then again what really needs to be done to a 150 that does 70mph?

Pegasus mods? I was having discussion with CBXMAN about that since they are putting together powerpak kits for QLINK machines. It turns out that indeed there are a few parts available but I'm not exactly sure what. They are going to send some stuff later in '07.

Right now, it's all about weather and time. I need to get the Veypor installed and I think I can do it tomorrow. I want to be able to post charts & graphs. The performance parts on the Kymco should go on quick unless the exhaust doesn't fit right. The variator is easy. I've already been in the tranny case and it's a snap.

I,ve got 630km on my Pegusus,no problems. I was talking to a couple of the maintaince men here, and I could tell they were not to interested. Untill I let them take a short ride! One fellow use to have a motorcross bike and he said, Man This things got some power. The other fellow scared me have to death when he asked; Where is the rear brake? I'm afraid to use the front because of a former wreak. I was a wreak till he got back. I must say that the pictures of the Gold one like mine do not do the bike justice. In pearson these Pegasus's look a lot sharper! One old freind said it looked like a BMW. Do not know how he came up with that. Later, David

Dawg, there sure seems to be a lot of praise on the Pegasus.
How would you compare it to the RX150i as far as performance, handling and comfort?
It sounds so good I'm thinking about getting one and I haven't even put 500 miles on my Eurojet!

Post by Admin on Dec 28, 2006 21:56:26 GMT -5
Good question. Handling and comfort, the Pegasus is way out front. Performance, they are similar. The 150i is a little faster off the line but the Pegasus will catch up in no time and leave the 150i in the dust and it's much more stable. It's really almost not fair to compare the two. Overall, the Pegasus is a better machine but I still think that the rx150i is a real bargain. Pegasus is really in a different class. Dual adjustable rear shocks, water cooled, rear disc brake, much smoother ride. Remember, there is around $1,000 difference in price.
