Thanks for the wonderful review on the Pegasus 150. Had I not purchased my Pegasus a month or so earlier I would have sure bought one after the review you so aptly wrote. The bike has never been a disappointment and is a fine quality machine and great fun to ride. I carry my heavy photo gear on a large waist bag and it sits on the buddy seat. The whole set up is extremely stable. Thanks for Scootdawg ! Darryl aka Lightchaser

Hi guys. I'm brand new to this, don't own a scooter yet, but I figured I could get some info from some people far more knowledgeable than I. I read scootdawgs review of the Pegasus a while back, when I first decided I was going to get a scooter, and was sold on it. However, as I've been reading more about it on the boards, I'm not quite so sure. It seems that lots of people are having problems.
So here's the situation. I'm trying to decide between the Pegasus and a Vespa LX150. They both have their pros and cons. There's only one dealership in all of CA for the Pegasus, and it's down in San Diego (a 3 hour drive from my house). If I really want the bike, I don't mind driving down there to buy it and renting a hitch or something to get it back. The problem is I go to school at UC Berkeley, which is 8 hours from San Diego, so if something goes wrong, I don't know of any dealerships I can take it to in the area. I want the Pegasus because of the price and the stylishness.
On the other hand, there's the Vespa LX150. There's a dealership 30 minutes from my house, and one right across the bay in San Francisco in case I have any problems with it up here. The only thing is that the LX150 costs roughly $1500 more, and I'm not sure I want to spend the extra cash.
The one other thing I forgot to mention is that I live in very hot climates. Valencia, my hometown, where I spend my summers, gets VERY hot. I'm talking between 95 and 115 degrees from mid-April until late-August/early-September. I'm worried about over-heating and my breaks squealing loudly. any suggestions?
So what do you guys think?

I think you are comparing apples and oranges. The QLink is a 16" wheel tall scooter with flat floorboards. The Vespa looks and rides much small. The Vespa is top quality, and you get what you pay for. But if you want something comparable to the QLink in higher quality, look at the Scarabeo 200, the SYM HD200, or the KYMCO Peoples S200. These are all similar geometry to the QLINK

I have read the review on Pegasus and have found a used one in my area. I was wondering if any one in the forum still have one? How many miles are on it now? The '06 I found has 6000 mi on it. Seems like alot. What do you figure it is worth? it looks to be in good shape and real nice looking. I am hoping to take a look in person tommorrow and hopfully a ride.

It is exactly the same bike as the CF Moto eCharm, which is now fuel injected and liquid cooled. There are many CF Moto dealers. The bike sells for around $2300 new.

The new fuel injected E-Charm has an MSRP closer to $2,700, You can still get the carb model for around 2,300.
I've got a 2008 Peg with about 1,000 miles on it. I've had good luck with it so far. My shop down the street, Metric Cycles in Tulsa, has remaining Pegasus scoots for $1,999 which is less than I paid last year when I got mine.
The only thing you might look out for with a 2006 model is the possibility of overheating in a very hot climate. They mostly fixed that issue in 07-08.
I wouldn't pay more than 1,300 for an 06 with 6,000 miles.

So, it's been awhile since I've visited the site, just thought I'd add my input about the Pegasus 150 as my first post.
First off, I hear all kinds of issues with Qlink not providing good service. I think this is in part do to the dealerships. I bought mine from a very reputable dealer who was a pleasure to do business with. He's been carrying Qlinks since they came to the US, and he was completely honest with me about the overheating issues in 06 and 07. He also stated that none of his 08's have come back and he's never had an issue getting Qlink to replace or fix the scoots. Another dealership (actually 10 minutes from my house instead of an hour for the good one) was completely worthless. They knew nothing about the scoot, and when I took it to them to get an estimate after crashing it(see below) they didn't even notice the entire frame and front fork was bent.
As for my personal experience with the scoot...
A friend of mine totalled my first one, but I had 1100 miles on it at the time and no issues had turned up yet. I broke it in nice and easy and it was a dream to ride. Yes, the temp gauge did read on the hot side, but it never crossed into the pink. For some reason, this one would do around 70-75mph with ease.
After totalling the old one, my insurance company handed me a check for 3200 to buy a new one. So...I got a new one and some extra cash. I decided to try to "Hard Break-in" mentioned on so many scooter forums..
My advice is don't ever do this. At around 900 miles on the new one, it started shaking and jerking after about 25 minutes of moderate riding. I took it back and had the carb replaced. No issues or problems with Qlink or the dealership. He replaced it with no questions asked. This is the dealership an hour away from me.
Also, I have not been able to do over 65mph on flat land. I'm not upset by this as the manual says it's rated for around 58mph I believe. It has started being a little finicky again (around 2200 miles) , and I believe it's something to do with the fuel sender unit, but I'm not 100%. It's got a 2 year warranty on it, so toward the end of the summer, I'll probably go in and get it replaced.
As for the fuel gauge...I've noticed it does drop fairly quickly, but I've gotten used to it. I usually get around 80-100miles out of a tank. AND...the manual is wrong about the fuel capacity as well as other things like the rear tire size. The fuel capacity is only 1.7 gallons, I believe the book says it's over two.
Overall, I've loved my pegasus. It gets me from point A to point B in the city with no issues as long as I don't hot rod it. It is, afterall, a scooter. It's not a crotch rocket. Treat it well, and it will do the same for you. For the money, I'd rate this scooter at a B to a B+. If you're in the market for a scooter but can't quite afford the hondas, yamahas, or vespas, then this is the scooter to buy.
My major issue is the availability of tires. I can only get tires from Qlink, and they aren't the greatest.
Sorry for the long post, just figured I'd put my opinion out there.

...I decided to try to "Hard Break-in" mentioned on so many scooter forums.. My advice is don't ever do this.... None of the issues you describe are due to the break in procedure. The Motoman hard break in is actually scientifically proven. -Rich

I don't understand that. Pegasus does not make the bike (CF MOTO does) much less the tires. Someone has to sell those tires.

You're right, they aren't made by Qlink or CF Moto. They are branded as Chung Chin or something along those lines. Either way...I still can't find another manufacturer of those size tires. I found the fronts, but not a matching back. I've only put a little over 2k miles on mine since last spring, and the tires already are starting to slip out around corners. I'm not too comfortable with that.

I've got 2500 miles on mine since June 2008, and not a single problem with the tires, let alone any wear.

I have about 2100 miles on my 2008 Pegasus and I have to agree that the tires don't have much grip. I find that they skid very easily on a hard stop and have slightly slipped out from me on turns in neighborhood intersections. Therefore, I take very slow, wide turns with the Pegasus whereas I could take a normal turn with the other three scooters I have owned. But the tires are wearing like iron.

Hi From GA. I have been reading the forums for a few days and maybe on info overload. WOW there is a lot of info.
I like alot of what I read on this thread. The possible overheating kinda concerns me since I do live in Ga where the heat of the summer can get pretty hot.
I have been stopping by my local dealer and sitting a few different scooters. Both the 250's and 150's feel good, and I am not a small guy. For the area I would be riding in I am thinking a 150 is more than enough. (I currently have a Kymco Agility 50 and looking for something bigger.)
When I was in the dealer today, they had both Q-Links and E-Charms, looked identical to me and the prices were identical. To me the untrained eye, just looked like the colors was the big difference. (they had a E-Jewel, but the only color was yellow)
The dealer said he does service and does warranty work, and I have bought from them before so I feel comfortable with doing business with them.
I see alot about the Pegasus on this forum, is it the same bike as the E-Charm?? So everything I read about the pegasus does it apply to the E-Charm?
Thanks
If not and you had a choice, would you pick 1 over the other. And does it matter if its a 2008 or 2009 ( if they have it in 2008 they are a few hundred cheaper).

They are one in the same. Both made by CF Moto. Only difference is colors. Since Qlink is discontinuing the Peg as soon as their existing inventory runs out, and they are offering dealers some very good prices on 08 leftovers...I say its a no-brainer and go find a discounted '08 Peg

Purchased a 2008 Pegasus PG 150 from the Qlink online store last Thurs. May 29th. It was delivered this Thurs. June 4th in a heavyduty wooden box and strapped upright ( best packageing I have ever seen and arrived in excellent condition ). Uncrated it yesterday June 5th and filled it with gas and gave it a test run today June 6th ( D-day ). Put about 8 miles on it thru my residential neighborhood. What a great scooter!!! Johnny and Tamara at Qlink did a great job with all of my pre-purchase questions and the final order and shipment. Give them free bones from me. Price for the 2008 close out was $1795 with free shipping if I ordered it before the end of May. WHAT A DEAL AND WHAT A SCOOTER

Who's your nearest dealer? According to the new Qlink Store... he will get credit for the sale.
Congrats...you'll love the scoot

Great price. I thought I had seen Qlink advertising left over 2008's for around that price. I bought mine in August 2007 for $2195 which was a pretty good price then. IMHO, I think the $1795 price is about right for the Pegasus. I still like mine a lot and I think it is a great scooter for the city and still has enough hp to get out on the 45 - 55 mph 4-lane divided streets and keep up with traffic for a few miles so I can get to Walmart.
Enjoy the ride.

My '08 Pegasus has almost 2800 miles on it. No major problems yet, just a broken parking brake which was fixed under warranty. I routinely take it up to 60-65 mph. It'll cruise all day at 50-55 mph without braking a sweat.

p.s. did I mention how much I love my scooter

Still enjoying my PG 150. Everything seems to check out AOK and it's running great. Question? What are the codes to set the time on the digital clock?

Vern, If you hold down one of the buttons on the clock for a few seconds if will blink. The other button changes the numbers. My 4 yr old screws with it all the time. Pardon the pun.

Pugzila: I guess Im not as smart as a 4 yr old. Tried holding down either of the bottons but no blinking just a number and P or A ( Assuming PM or AM ). Tried using the other button to set time and got the hr and P correct. Tried to set the Min. got random numbers and P or A again. Get your 4 yr old to send this old man (78 yrs) a post on how to do it. Thanks in advance. a

Well after looking around for a month now, finally pulled the trigger today on the Pegasus 150. Got the silver one for 2 reasons. #1 My helmet is sliver so it matches.
#2 this one was $200 less than another color by mistake. They had about 7-8 of them, both Q-Link and CF-Moto, had the whole range of colors. All of them priced the same. I wandered and wandered and found 1 that was 200 less. So I asked them what the difference was. They said they had them all on sale last week and someone missed repricing this one. So if I wanted it they would give it to me at the marked price. Knowing it was going backup $200 if I said no, I told them to write it up.

Rexroni, Congratulations on your purchase. You'll enjoy driving it around. Was this a 2008 or 2009? Hopefully the dealer has done a decent PDI on the Pegasus. I found that the quality has been really pretty good. After two years and 2800K, it runs great. Body panels fit well and I have yet to have one screw or nut come loose. Did have a few minor problems that were fixed under warranty. Let's see some pictures when you get a chance, and keep us posted.

Its a 2008. The dealer is well known in the area for doing a good job and they have been very helpful with all my questions before and after the sale.
I think somewhere in this post ( I need to go back and read it), it mentioned something about the fuel gauge. It was not entirely on full when I got it, so when it hit E, I went to fill it up. Was surprised how much less gas it took to fill it up than I was expected.
but I think if I push it a little further between fill ups, I will eventually get a good idea using the odometor as to when I should gas up. Just will take me time to figure it out.
The digital clock was a snap to reset, my problem there was that I set it up at a red light, and I clicked the button a final time, thinking it was like a watch and it would start keeping time. Well at the next light I had to reset it and this time pushed the button again and the : started flashing. Been keeping track eve since.
Had to take it to the police station to get it visually inspected, so all proper paperwork is done and just waiting on the stuff I need to get the TAG.

I also don't believe the tank holds the 2.1 gallons they are claimed my QLink.
