I'd really like to get a performance air filter, but need to know the right mm diameter for the scooter. It's a Peace TPGS-808 150cc with a GY6 engine. Would it be a 42mm diameter? I'm unsure because there is a new carb, and if the carb has a different diameter, I would have no way of knowing, if it even did have a different diameter. So if I bought a 42mm Pod filter, would it fit? And would I take the air intake tube off and take out the whole air filter box and just put the pod filter on? Ask the guy what size carb he put in, and I can tell you. If its the stock 24mm size, most anything for the gy6 will fit it. (I forget the exact mm the air side is) If you put in a performance airtake, there is no reason to keep the box, you could just take it off.

Here are some questions I need answered please:
1.) I don't know what a carb bowl is or a fuel inlet, or a float and how to move it up and down. Let alone how to clean a valve or adjust it. Can someone explain?
2.) Mainepeace also said to suck on the vacuum line to the petcock/fuel filter. I don't know which one is the vacuum line, and do I suck the petcock/fuel filter itself? or the tube that I would disconnect? Please be more clear on that.
3.) Is anyone thinking it's a carb problem or a petcock/fuel pump problem and not an electrical problem?
4.) I ordered a new performance ignition coil and a new NGK CR7HSA spark plug, and also a new CDI box, will any of that fix the issue(s)? If so, what parts will fix what problems?
5.) Is there is a possibility that the new CDI box will fix the electrical issue, or is there really actually a bad wiring issue. I don't know if a bad CDI box can make it seem like it has bad wiring and make the battery drain overnight or what.
6.) Will a 42mm pod filter work with my Peace TPGS-808 150cc with the GY6 engine? The carb has been changed and I'm wondering if the mm diameter has changed too? And if the 42mm is the right one, will I take the whole air filter box out when I put the pod filter in?
7.) And I read on the sticky topic on this subforum (under 125cc and up) on the thread about what to buy for your scooter before you get it, that you should install a power toggle switch to turn off the remote start power, because it can go "haywire" as the poster mentioned, "and drain the battery down". So that plug with the loop is for the remote start? If I take that plug with the loop out, will it disable the remote start, and make it so my battery won't drain anymore? Is this fix even a possibility?
Please help!

I've been trying to be positive about this whole buying a broken scooter thinking it works but it doesn't. I have tried since yesterday to get a hold of the guy who I bought it from to ask for his help. He offered to help me further, and that's why he bought the parts for my scooter, and after I told him they didn't fix the problem, I haven't gotten 1 reply from him. He's just ignoring me. I asked him earlier what the size of the carb is, but he still hasn't replied. I think he's done helping me, meaning he doesn't want to bother with me anymore. THIS ISN'T FAIR! he's a member of this forum with way over double the amount of postings than me and is more active than me on this forum. It seemed like I got a good deal, $560 for the scooter was the best deal I found, but it was a total rip off because it doesn't work. I will try as long as I can to keep him anonymous to not raise any negative reactions towards him, but this isn't fair or right. I wasted $560 on something that will only cost even more to fix!

I should have known something was wrong when he got it to me on his truck when he tried to start it, he had to jump start it with his truck to get it to turn on, told me to let it idle to charge the battery for 30 minutes, and after 30 minutes, I tried to ride it, and that was when it cut off, and it's done it ever since I got it. And the battery was still dead. If the guy would just help me, I'm trying to be nice to him. He offered to help me but he is ignoring me now. But I have to be appreciative that he spent over $100 on parts and sent them to me, but now he is just ignoring me now. I've called and texted. I don't know what to do. This is really unfair and not right. This is extremely depressing.

Cameratester... give me a phone call tomorrow afternoon and I'll help you out personally. Phone on the eshop site.
I'm sorry you feel upset, but such is life. I'll do what I can to get your scooter running.

Its difficult to explain everything you are asking without pictures and some hands on time with the scooter. I suggest you take the time to look at some of the manuals for the engine you are working on that are available via links on this site. You need a whole lot of basic mechanical knowledge before you can do what you want to do or even have some one explain it to you. I would spend some time reading as much as you can before you order any parts. There is a good chance this is a rather minor and simple problem. Don't be discouraged though you seem to have the right can do attitude you just need to learn some of the basics before we will be able to help. Remember a good mechanic troubleshoots and repairs faulty/broken parts after he has found them bad and a bad one crosses his fingers and starts replacing parts until it is fixed. Obviously the first scenario is far cheaper. I wish you well and I hope this helps.

I sold it for parts to someone and used the money to buy a much better condition scooter. I am sorry this happened to you. At least you will learn things from this one. I know I did.

I apologize to the guy who I thought was ignoring me, he had left his phone somewhere and contacted me this morning, and he's helping me. Last night I was just really down which is why I was upset when I posted about him. I jumped to conclusions. He's helping me now so I'll continue posting updates.

The guy said he took it for a 60 mile drive before he sold it to me to make sure it worked. but that's impossible maybe he didnt ride it around the same stoplight and corner that you originally were sure caused the problem. sounds like he soaked another couple c notes into it for you with with parts and labor so ends up as a $300 deal. not too bad for a fixer-upper. if you are not happy request a refund. an honest seller will agree. i pity some of the guys who sell used vehicles. a couple of my customers came back with seized 2 strokes telling me they didnt know you had to mix oil in the gas. puzzling because i always go on in detail about what ratios to use. and what do they think the bottle of 2-stroke oil i give them is for? row boats? the problem is made much worse by the incredibly bad advice on these forums that is mixed in with the good. noobs have no way of separating them. generally they listen to the guys they like rather than those with the experience and knowhow that they should be listening to.

Thanks for the info. I was totally wrong to say what I said about the guy in the above messages. Like I said, I jumped to conclusions, which I do all the time and it's a fault I have. He called my local scooter repair place and he is going to pay for the repairs. I'll take it to the place and the guy that works there said it will be 2-3 days before he gets to look at it. So I'm hoping that will fix it. So I did spend a pretty good amount on parts that I probably won't need, but it's good to have as spares, the spark plug, ignition coil, and CDI box. I also ordered silicon seal. But what I ordered that I would like to use is the Xenon head lights, led running lights, and performance pod filter. Thanks to the guy who sold me the scooter, he's been really helpful and I was wrong to jump to conclusions. It wasn't like him to ignore me after all this and I should have realized that and been more patient. So hopefully it gets fixed after the repairs are done. I'm hoping.

Yes, I will keep you updated. Please give me a list of questions to ask the mechanic who fixed it, I wouldn't know what to ask. And it's dropped off at the place, and I will hear from them in 2-3 days or so when it's fixed. I'll let you all know what happens after that

YEEESS!!! PROBLEM FIXED!!! The mechanic called! He said he fixed the wiring which also should fix the battery draining issue. It was the back tail light that the whole thing was blinking that he fixed.
Also...wait for it... The cutting off problem was just a vacuum line being pinched under the seat, which would explain why the "dry" test worked when I wasn't sitting on the seat, so he fixed that, now it doesn't cut off! And he said the battery doesn't drain anymore! YES!!!
This issue is solved!
Now maybe this thread could be stickied so people with similar issues can read this and see that it cutting off could just be a vacuum line being pinched.
Thank you so much everyone! WOW I am so happy! I haven't gotten it back yet. I just got the call from the mechanic.
I'll try to get it asap!
