Hi, I recently bought this scooter online. When I received it it did not came with the owner's manual and the company that I bought it from says that they usually don't come with one, just an instructional page (which didn't came either). So I've been googling alot trying to find a User Guide, Owner's Manual but not luck. I really don't know anything about scooters, and right now I'm confused cuz I can't find the spot that I should be able to add water to it ? There's one in the middle that looks kinda rusted even though the scooter has 0 miles on it. So I'm not sure if thats the gas tank or where the water goes, this is frustrating... any help dawgs? Antifreeze is added under the panel thats right under the handlebars , I think 2 or 3 phillips screws hold it on. And the gas tank is under the door between the 2 feet rests.

Thanks to all the people that helped me, I was able to check the water levels, brake fluids is right next to it and put 2 gallons of gasoline in the thank thats between the two feets rests as wildbill84 mentioned. The weird thing though is that the gasoline indicator did not move at all.

Hi sbstncstlo, I just got finished taking all of the panels on my new XY260T-4, and I HIGHLY recommend doing a PDI BEFORE riding it! x1scooters.com/scooterpdi.htmlThe most dangerous fault I found was a cracked fuel line at the carb, which is not only a problem, but could have been dangerous. Other faults are loose bolts and screws, bad routing on wiring...etc. etc. etc.

I would definantly do a P.D.I. I jsut purchased a black xy-260 a couple a weeks ago. Had 5 miles on it when I tor it apart. I changed the vacume/fuel lines,(stock lines are junk) checked nuts and bolts, changed oil, changed anti-freeze,(stock fluids are junk)checked all electric connections, and I actualy found a heater hose clamp missing! Be patient puting the bottom piece plastics back on. I had a few choice word with them but they finaly went. You will want to for sure adjust the valves. My exaust side (bottom) was too tight and when I was done, it cranked alot better and with all the platic out of the way its not that hard. People say the valves are hard to adjust. I disagree, take a couple pices of plastic out of the way and just do it. Other than that I have now 300 miles on it. And the xy-260 does catch a lot of eyes. I got mine from Killer motorsports without an owners manual which should be in the mail at the house by now. Everything you need to know about a pdi and more should be on this forum. Good luck and enjoy the scooter.

the problem with www.bmsmotorparts.com/ is that they are very expensive, and the problem with that is they all so make a better part. so going to scrappy for parts yealds a less well made source many times. when i order parts that don't have to come from bms, i send em a e-mail showing how much cheaper it was else where, but many times you have to go to them, but for light bulbs, gaskets, break switch's ETC go elsewhere.

Terra- Like you say, sometimes you have to use them, and when you do its nice to know they're there, they're stocked, they're quick and most importantly you'll get the right part because its sold specifically for your model scooter. For example, I just looked to save a few bucks by buying a coil from scrappy, and while scrappy's site says specifically that his coil fits the Vog, it doesn't fit by a longshot. I just wasted a week waiting for the part and now I'll have to wait for another, this time from BMS though. I agree that generic parts can come from anywhere, but sometimes you end up being penny wise and pound foolish.

belive this, the manuel (that they sent me)dont tell you anything that you would want too know so it doesnt matter if you were albe to get it or not it needs to be translated to english measurements. you probably got the last one because its discontinued now.

I have this POS too! Do yourself a favor and invest in some tools cause you will need them. I have the manual that came with it and will scan it for you if I have time today. You definitely need to do a PDI cause the materials they used to put it together are quite lacking. Use the link provided to take it apart, took me about 4 days to do it all. Handle the plastics as if they were a newborn babe or they will break... Scratch that handle it anyway you want cause IT WILL BREAK no matter how tender you are. Go to Lowes or Home depot and get two lawn mower fuel filters, there round & sort of flat. Go to a motorcycle dealer and get some fuel line, again the crappy Chinese stuff is worthless and leaks! As for coolant Prestone makes coolant specifically for aluminum engines and one specifically for motorcycles... Good luck if you can find it cause even with the help of Prestone customer service I couldn't! I ended up going to Cycle Gear and buying Redline Super Cool for about $20 bucks. You'll also need to get new valve stems for the tires, I can't find the link for the all metal ones I got maybe someone else can help with that. The list goes on and on... Welcome to the wonderful world of Chinese scooter! LOL Oh yeah... If you have a problem with your carb you will be buying a new one. I've discovered they don't make rebuild kits for them.

I guess I will just send it to a shop and have them comb over it as I know nothing about this bike. Can not find a tech manual anywhere on the net. The book that came with it is plain jane. If anyone can help me my email is suburbanking2@aol.com

Wow! Here I thought I was the only one who had problems because I bought a BMS 260 china unit instead of a name brand. I never ever worked on a scooter but was willing to try various things. Spark plug, Hose's, brakes rotors, calipers and pads, body parts, battery change, light bulb changes, All fluids change out, windshield, rear wheel and tire, Brake switches, loose instrument cluster, juse to name a few things I've done. No valve adjusting yet. Naturally I had to buy some tools But after all the problems I've corrected, I've got mine running better than when new. It gets a lot of looks, its sporty looking and has get up and go and its fun to ride Good luck guys Max Attachments:

Yes Max they are great bikes. I'm just learning about them myself. Just picked up some goodyear fuel line to change out. However I ask that if anyone has a service manuel please help. I will pay to have it scanned. Or if there is one online please tell me where. The guy I bought mine from made changes like air filter and I want to make it all original.

I just sent you a pm with two useful manuals. The first is for the Yamaha Majesty 250 which is useful for the engine portions since that is what our engines were cloned from. the other is the Vog manual which is interesting but not that helpful. It does have some good wiring diagrams at the end.
