For those that have read my review on my SYM in the 125 section, you've probably already seen this, but here is a tip for every who hasn't. I found that my scooter has had added the slug eye-socket turn signals for DOT purposes. The ones in the frame are wired and active but have clear lenses, so I need amber bulbs. I finally found the bulbs and they are $6.50 each plus very high shipping. These bulbs aren't anything fancy and just simple bayonet based 10 watt 12 volt bulbs. I found the clear version at Autozone and they are number 89's.
Then I went to the local arts and crafts store and bought a spray can of Krylon yellow #9024 stained glass paint and painted them with 3 coats. I extensively tested them and voila, for $12.00 and change, I now have 4 amber bulbs and enough paint left over for a whole lot more. My scooter had silver painted dummy bulbs placed in the sockets. Don't be too surprised if yours does too and don't be surprised if they're also prewired just waiting for the bulbs.

Not a bad idea, I like it. I swapped out my amber bulbs for amber LED units.
