Any ideas on how to "fix" the "auto up" kickstand on the SYM scooters? Those who own a SYM know what I'm talking about. Those who do not, The kickstand has a very strong spring and if you even think too much about touching the scooter....Up the kick stand goes and down goes the SYM. Very annoying since the scooter draws attention and everyone just has to grab the grip. Next thing you know the person is standing there, KS up, holding your scooter with a bewildered look.
Detension the spring with heat?
Any Ideas welcome.

I have a HD200 and know exactly what you're talking about. The use of my side stand is on a permanent hiatus until I figure out a locking mechanism and trust me, I am working on it. I use the center stand at all times because I simply don't trust the side stand. As soon as I come up with a solution, I am going to post it here. Another thing to remember is that on hot asphalt, be sure to use a disk of some sorts under the stand to avoid it sinking into the asphalt and falling over.
PS, I almost have a solution. One that I've tried works, but it's a bit of a pain in the arse.

Well, I have a sad story to tell involving a windy day, the very touchy side stand and me walking over to lock the garage for a total of maybe 45 seconds...

Thanks for the video, My Diamo has the same issue, What were they thinking. I was going to remove the stand because it didn't serve a purpose like it was.

I found five minutes of time and removed the bolt, cut the peg end off and reinstalled, now I have a usable side stand ;D

Glad to have helped. I know there are a crap load of people with the same issues, some deal with it and some just haven't seen how to fix it yet
