Hello everyone. I've been lurking in the forums for the last couple of weeks, learning more and more every day. This really is a great place to learn a ton about scooters... thanks everybody who has contributed so much to that end. I've been looking into scooters for about a month now and, like many people, was drawn (or was that shoved into?) by rising gas prices. But the more I learn, the more I think that it is a great fit for me... it's all about the ride (Love the thread "The Sensory Nature of Scooting") Still, I have alot of work to do: (already found a local mechanic, in case I need help, but I really want to get to know my ride's internals myself) 1. Decide on a bike: I'm thinking Roketa 54-B, Linhai Aeolus/Strada 300, or Lance Duke 250. 2. Take my written test for a permit. 3. Take the MSF course/learn to ride (which comes first?) 4. Locate a dealer/shipper and purchase. I'm going to take my time with this, hopefully getting my scoot in the fall or winter--saving for this rather than using credit, unless I just can't stand the wait anymore. I look forward to learning all I can, and hopefully, becoming a contributing member of this great community. It's all about the ride
