Good Morning everyone. Thanks for a ll the time and effort a lot of you guys have put into many of your post and tuts. I have been reading over them for a week now in anticipation of our new scoot. I have always had scooters but sold my last one about a year after college, 2004. I moved from pedal mopeds to the last ones were a couple of Vespas. I wish I had never sold them.
Recently I have been noticing many new scooters on the roads around my house and decided to take a look at them again. Wow at the amount and price of the Chinese scooters. I never knew there were some many and that they had become fairly reliable.
We found a guy locally that is deciding whether or not to start a scooter company. He is selling Lance and Tank. Anyway we are going over on Friday and will most likely take home out Red lance Vintage. We would prefer white but he only has 2 scoots right now, red and gold. From what I have seen online we are getting a great deal at $1350.
My wife at first wasn't very excited but as she has seen more photos and seen more scooters around I think she is more excited than me now. Well thanks a lot and I cant wait to be back in the scooter club.
Tim

Welcome to the dog pound. I have a screamin' red Konced Retro 150CC (everybody says red ones go faster...lol) which is very similar to the Lance Vintage and I love it. I am constantly correcting people who ask about my "Vespa" and they are intrigued by the styling and price. If they appear serious about getting their own scoot, I let them know that pros vs cons of buying online vs buying from a dealer with good support, etc. You will soon be swamped with questions, too. I don't think I go anywhere without being stopped and questioned. I have referred several people to this website to learn more and help them decide what they want to do. Not sure if any are registered users but there is one man and his wife who come into where I work almost weekly and talk about the scoot. Yesterday his wife told me that if my scoot ever comes up missing, I should come look for it at their house. Guess I should find out where they live?? LOL.
Post pics and updates on your scoot and your rides. On days like today when I can't ride (and lots of other times), I realy enjoy looking at pics of other people's scoots and listening to the stories about rides.
Scoot Safe!! BTW, I hope your wife learns to ride your scoot and becomes a ScootDawg member herself.

Picked my Red Vintage up today! ;D I drove it about 40 miles home. Everything went great! It was a hot one here today touching 100 but I was nice and cool on the scoot. All in all we put about 75 miles on it before I settled in and tore it down. All fluids are changed and ABS is removed. New fuel lines and fuel filter are installed. I am going to try and get it back together in the morning with my coffee. We had so much fun I told the guy to order us a white one on his next order! My wife and I will look like a big peppermint going down the road. I am going to GPS it when it get back together. I think that it is a little optimistic. If not this scoot hits 60 pretty regularly. Maybe red scooters are faster??? Thanks everyone for all the great information on this site.
