I'm considering a Roketa MC-54-250B from them and they have nothing bad on BBB and seem to have been around for a while.

Looks like the site is back up again. The Houston datacenter issues have been wreaking havoc across so many internet sites, and they're still not 100% yet.

Also look up the thread 'Looking For Info on Extreme Scooters'.

Thanks for all the great information, dawgs! I've been calling a few possibilities and have just about been talked into spending a tad ($700) more on a Strada (Linhai) 300 scoot. D*mn, it was easier the last time I bought a new car.

Also a very good choice if it's in your budget, the MC-54-250B was my limit. If I could afford it, I probably would have went for a Linhai 300 myself. Scooterollie speaks very highly of the Linhai 300. You can see some of his threads in the 250+ forum, including the sticky with some great pics.

I have to include my time and extra cash for parts into the equation and doing so, the Linhai isn't a heck of a lot more than the Rocketa from what I've been picking up in this forum. I'm now officially on the fence as I do enjoy tinkering but I really don't like the idea of so many more on the road breakdowns that the Rocketa seems to exhibit from what I have read here. Add to that, the necessity of essentially rebuilding the wiring harness... Oh, h*ll, I don't know, (LOL) The more I get into this, the more I get confused.

I'm sure Big Guy will tell you, it doesn't matter WHAT you buy, you need to do a proper and full PDI no matter what you buy! MC-54 or Linhai 300, either way, a full PDI is in order. See Big Guy's PDI link in the best of forum or in his signature on any of his posts, if you haven't already.

I'm just trying to figure out a way to con him into coming up here and walking me through it! The downside is I'm going to have to buy a new set of metric wrenches and sockets. It's been a long time since I had a bike.

If I could afford a plane ticket and a hotel stay, I'd gladly have him come give me a hand! And, if you have a Harbor Frieght around...cheap tools.

And, if you have a Harbor Frieght around...cheap tools. I'm odd about my tools. I've had too many problems with cheap tools. I'll go to Costco and pick up some midranged quality if they have them... Or just break down and go to Snap On or Craftsman.

Most HF stores have lifetime warranty on their hand tools, just like Sears. Only problem is, HF's store hours kinda suck.
